Well Loki, don't think of it as your 'fault'.
You didn't provide him with extra material through a backstory....
...
well, it shall be interesting

Topic: Loaded Dice #71 - That Hollow Feeling Subject: Looks Great!
Splendid artwork Jing!
Goth Amy is awesome.
Also, I agree that Tim's last line was great. Reminds me of great DM-Player moments, from both points of view.

Topic: Demon Wind Q&A Subject: When asked a question...
Put up a simple interaction with Mendez. Just something while we wait.
...hopefully it does not interfere with anyone else.

Topic: Demon Wind Subject: Guard Duty
Irael stood vigilantly in the hall, his shield at the ready and his hand resting upon the grip of his blade. Despite the resilient sensation of danger he did not stir, keeping his thoughts and emotions in check and focusing on perceiving any approaching threats.
A sudden squeaking immediately brought his attention to a nearby door, and the figure of Mendez moving slowly into the hall.
**“What is going on?” He asked in a quiet whisper as he stepped out into the hall…**
"Do you feel it too?" Irael replied in a hushed voice.
He did not need an answer - Mendez's mannerisms were enough to tell him that the man knew something was wrong. Normally he was much louder...and a heavier sleeper. Although Irael liked the sudden change in Mendez, seeing him awaken before the others -and with nervous caution upon his face- was enough to convince him that the sensation he felt was not the aftereffect of his nightmares.
"Something is amiss." He continued in a low grim whisper, looking Mendez straight in the eyes. "Gather your things and awaken the others. I'll stand guard as they prepare."

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment! Subject: Hmm... Some more adjustments
Jozan if you would please alter the following:
Remove the bedroll, again (+1sp, -5lb).
Add 50ft silk rope (-10gp, +5lb)
Add A Boot Blade (complete scoundrel) (-4gp. +1/2lb)
Remove Dagger (+2gp, -1lb)
...that should do it.

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment! Subject: well... yeah
essentially we run on pure speed and maneuvers
(Tumble. Lots of tumble)
A packmule would only be useful for leaving with loot so we can defend ourselves at our best abilities. ... but again it also depend on where we are going. mules can easily become a liability as well

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment! Subject: Saw that. Did the math. And just got by...
Counting my clothes (5lb traveler's outfit) I was just under medium load but without a bedroll.
Since you are saying not to count the clothes toward the carrying capacity... drop me 1sp and add a 5lb bedroll please Jozan.
Edit: Loki, I too have left over gold and the packmule idea came to mind... aha. We'll have to see how the adventure starts and where we are going before we decide on that.
Edit2: Yeah, I'm just lucky Rapiers are nice and light. I'm not willing to give up my armour for carrying capacity though. With our hp's we need all the ac possible.

Topic: The Scarred Continents Subject: Diplomacy Away....
The Half-Elf removed his gauntlets as he crossed the gangplank, tucking them into his belt.
Time to begin. May my teachings get me through this.
"It would seem you are most insistent good sir" taking the pouch from Creek he tucked it away and extended his hand "Matrim Ferr; I concede to you that I am no mercenary, but rather a man-at-arms, if you will." He gave a moment for the comment to settle."I come on behalf of an interested party who wishes to invest in your expedition to ensure it gets underway."
"As for 'what I do'" he added, keeping a steady tone while being purposely unclear "There are a number of things; I am not sure to which you are inquiring. I have spent much of my life within the area, perhaps you have seen me in passing. Now, if we may sit and discuss business"
Talking about too many things could hinder negotiations. There was a job at hand, and Matrim sought to keep it the focal point of the conversation. The expedition needed to set out sooner rather than later.

Topic: The Scarred Continents Subject: Believe it or not, I believe you...
The Half-Elf raised a gauntleted hand and shook his head, denying the return of the pouch. The coin was trivial at this point.
"Consider it a small gesture, for the trouble you've had to deal with thus far." Pausing for a moment to see Creek's reaction he continued, "Rest assured they is no need to drag the authorities this way; it would be but another 'distraction'."
Turning to Reok for a moment he nodded respectfully "We shall continue our discussion on tactics another time friend," And without waiting for a response brought his attention back to Creek."Now, since things have settled down, I again request permission to board so we may discuss business."

Topic: A cautious start. Subject: Finally finding words.
Your work hit a feel sensitive nerves and left me speechless.
Particularly the sense of rise and fall. The drastic change from the first poem to the end of the second.
It hit me hard. I can relate far too well...
They are very well written; that you found the words to convey such meaning... they are beautiful.
Cheers Chess.

Topic: "Forgotten Realms: Edge of Darkness" Recruitment! Subject: Nope, too far
I live in the Maritimes, and I'm fairly certain they would have been closer to the capital for the festivities.
They are supposed to be in PEI tomorrow, so they'll be closer but I still wont see them.
Oh and it is Prince Will and Kate.
------------------------------------------------
Back to the game. Everything should be great, looking forward to playing. The Swashbuckler is done and has been sent to Jozan

Topic: The Scarred Continents Subject: Fine, though there seems to be a rock in one of them.
With the sudden speech the Half-Elf turned his gaze from the direction of Creek's departure towards the larger figure, only really catching his last statement.
"A fine weapon when used properly" Nodding in acknowledgement to the stranger "With the right application it easily gets past defenses that would block any other"
He paused for a moment, appraising the other as he assumed he had been appraised. It was easier than small talk at any rate... but Creek had left the two of them here. Alone.
Provided the Gnome does not spin an elaborate ruse, this should all work out smoothly.
Not seeing any other options he continued in the current endeavor "Tell me then friend, any particular reasoning for your own choice of weaponry?"

I'm in if you'll have me. I think it'd be quite a game.

Topic: Aspiring Poetry Subject: Very Nice.
What I see here is written quite well; moreso was I looking at the meaning than the writing technique...
I understand the sentiments you express through it; it's conveyed well that way. It is actually eerily similar to some of the thoughts in my head lately.
But again, well done.
Also you have 5 karma, and we cannot have that - it is terribly unlucky
Allow me to fix that

Swashbuckler... subtle.... hmmm.....

More of the leaping and dodging and dueling sort...
This shall be interesting.

Swashbuckler indeed. Since I'm using the Complete Scoundrel book, the extra skill points and feat from being Human seem to win the race decision. The skill points I need for skill tricks
