So two definitely interested, and one player begging off to be a reserve.
Anyone else?

Topic: Zombies in Chicago - D20 Modern Recruitment Subject: Zombies in Chicago - D20 Modern
Okay, folks, here goes. I have resisted the urge to run this game for two years, now, but can ignore the siren song no longer.
Consider this the official recruitment thread for a modern day zombie infestation game.
Civilization as we know it ended a few weeks ago following an outbreak of a mutant virus that turns the living into slavering, vicious monsters - and denies the dead their rightful rest. These mindless vestiges of humanity are not the shuffling, clumsy oafs of the old zombie flicks, but terrifying, fast, and deadly killers, ala "28 Days Later" or "I am Legend".
I will be using a modified version of the D20 modern RPG as my rule base. Don't worry - you need know NOTHING about the rules to play! I need a party of four to six players who are interested in running for their lives, fighting when they must, all with the grim knowledge that it is more likely a matter of when, no if, they will perish.
Unless you give me an excellent reason otherwise, you will all start in the basement of a bar in Chicago, Illinois, where you have been barricading yourselves from the horror of the death throes of civilization. Sadly, while the alcohol supply is still going strong, the food stores are all but gone, and you must now face the very real likelihood that rescue is not coming. How will you proceed? Well, that's up to you.
If you are interested in joining, please keep the following in mind:
- 1. This game may proove to be exceedingly lethal. Like any good zombie flick, one or more of you will almost certainly die. It is entirely possible that none of you will survive.
If you do die, you are free to rejoin the game as another survivor.
- 2. To be considered for play, I need you to provide a brief character description - name, age, gender, physical appearance, profession, and a brief background/personality. Don't spend ages on this, since you may die quickly, but don't ignore it, either. Military and police backgrounds will make you a bit better with firearms than say, an average Joe, while a doctor or nurse will certainly be much better at first aid than the rest of the party. Use common sense.
- 3. To be considered for a spot, please submit a realistic, normal person. Please do not send me character concepts for Jason Bourne type assasins, 6th degree black belts, super geniuses who can create mega weapons from junk, etc. I will make fun of you and delete your application.
This is not to say that you can't be skilled at something, or even at several things, but your ex-Navy SEAL, college professor, martial arts expert, photographic memory, olympic athelete won't get in the game. Please don't ask.
- 4. If you decide to play, you are comitting to a minimum of one to two quality posts per week. By quality, I mean two to three short paragraphs. You don't have to write a novella every time, but please give me more than "My guy bashes the zombie in the head." Ignore this at your mortal peril.
- 5. I have been known to flake out. Right now, my work shcedule is good, and I ought to be able to handle a little zombie bloodshed, but I may post slower than you may want to deal with, or need to take a week off every now and then. Consider yourself forewarned.
If you have further questions, please let me know. Otherwise, we will start as soon as I have enough approved character concepts.

Arien frowned, not just at Dapple's findings, but at the entire situation. Not that it was any surprise - they knew that something must be amiss, else the party would not have been sought out to come here. Nevertheless, Arien felt the familiar tension in the pit of his stomach - the missing priests, the unnatural quiet, the sheer ominousness of this place - all added up to spell impending trouble.
That someone would hope to be able to tell from outside that the doors had been disturbed... well, that was truly strange.
"I wonder," the knight breathed, "what sort of thing could be contained within these doors? Why would someone do such a thing?" Of course, no one had a good answer.
"Right, then. Let us be ready for a fight, just in case." The knight drew Liun'naur and spoke the name, causing the mystic blade's flame to ignite. "Maximus, up here with me. Kilgim, you and Char follow. Let Dapple and Flynn take up the rear. Let us move in quickly, get our bearings, and determine if we need to defend ourselves. Although..."
Arien paused for a moment. "Dapple," he asked, "is there any chance that Sunset could possibly peer in through a window, and be able to tell you anything of use? No need for us to storm in, blades bared, if the situation does not call for it."
Depending on the outcome of any potential aerial spying, the knight readied himself with a final whispered prayer to Heironeus. Surely the god could hear the prayer here at his temple? If the pseudodragon could offer no reason to dissuade it, Arien would yank open the door and lunge inside.

Check it out, folks - today, we have a guest comic from Rules of Rule, an awesome, sparkly, trippy Dutch webcomic.
If you like the comic, please go ahead and vote it up via reddit... do beware the trolls.
What do you think? I love the art; it's very cool to see LD characters through someone else's art. The pony is particularly cool, I think.

So I saw. Seems like he's the sort that likes to leave tons of negative comments in the hope that someone takes offense, so that he can swoop in and show of his "clearly" superior intellect and viewpoints.
In other words, a troll.

Topic: eSimBaseball Subject: meh
No worries. I'd love for ANYONE who has a few minutes on their hands to run some sample games and tell me what they think. Remember, games resolve in less than a second, so it's not like you need much time.
I just found an odd situation... a team lost a game, 7-6, due to a walkoff two run homer fromt he home team. Which means they were winning 6-5 at the start of the inning.
For some reason, they left their long reliever in for his third inning (he had come in for the starter) in an obvious save situation. Yes, the long guy still had enough stamina to pitch the inning, but any baseball idiot would have pulled him to bring int he closer for a one run save in the ninth. The computer did not, which means there is a hole in the logic. Bleh.
These are the kind of things I'm looking to correct.

Topic: eSimBaseball Subject: updates...
I have batting stats displaying (not perfectly, but displaying). Pitching substitutions are making more sense now, though I still think that there are too many starters going deep into games.
It keeps getting better, though.
