Yes, this is the farthest that any party has made it this adventure. Not for lack of anything but good DMing, if we're honest.
I hope that you are all sufficiently disgusted by the time we are done.

Do your homework (which you are). It's not anywhere near as mysterious and complicated as some seem to believe.

Topic: Friend Computer Needs Your Help! Subject: clone(s) needed!
Hello.
After returning from my absence, I have discovered that I will need to replace at leasst one clone in this game. It is possible that I will need moe players beyond that.
If you're up for a game of backstabbing one another while trying to avoid grisly/comic demise for as long as possible (because let's face it - you WILL die sometimes), this is the game for you!

I suspect that we will need to pick up a couple of new players for troubleshooters... I know for a fact that elixr_often will not be ressuming his role as Slipp (didn't care for the PBP format), and we may need others. But whoever wants to continue serving Friend Compuer will surely be rewarded* for their loyalty.

Topic: The Corruption Hidden Beneath the Surface... Subject: what terrors still lie in wait?
Kith has several questions for Arden, the woodsman.
"Did you get a glimpse of what the man looked like, other than his clothing? Distinctive facial features, scars, weapons? Symbols on his clothing or person?"
The man shook his head. "Na really. 'e wore all black, robes as it were. Ah didna get close enough to see 'is face, not with all tha dead comin' this way."
"You must know this area well," Kith stated. "What have we to expect in our journey to the northwest?"
Arden frowned slightly. "Woods, mostly, though na too thick. Game trails here and there. A stream lies a 'alf day that way. There be some cliff faces on tha other side 'o tha woods, mebbe a couple days off? A few caves an' such there, as well. Then, more woods for leagues."
Leave is taken, and the group sets out with Kith scouting ahead.
It becomes quickly apparent that the woodsman's estimation of distances maybe skewed by his experience with the area; it takes nearly a full day to reach the stream he spoke of. Of course, the ground is soft, the group is cautious, and the territory is unfamiliar.
He did speak true; the underbrush is fairly thin in most places, but the silence of the wood is absolutely oppressive. Frrom time to time, a twig or branch will crack, you might swear that you see movement just in the corner or your eyes... but never can you spot anything directly in the accursed fog. Of the black robed man, there is no definitive sign; anywhere you might see footprints, you see many of them from the horde of undead.
As the light begins to fade, you reach the stream. It is perhaps eight to twelve feet wide in most areas, sitting recesssed beneath banks of clay and tree roots some two or so feet down. A few rocks jut from the water, causing the only noise you have heard all day aside from the wind and the occassional snap or a branch. The water itself appears to be no more than a foot or so deep. The darkening sky here is only visible though a few small cracks in the trree canopy above.

Topic: Paranoia: the Only Good Commie is a Dead Commie Subject: BING! Let's get this misssion back on the road!
The equipment is divvyed up, and the troubleshooter team beats a hasty retreat out of the PLC, propelled by the nigh-murderous glares of clones forced to wait even longer for the "secret mission" interaction to play out.
Steam pilots the Friendliness Hoverbot with incredible efficiency - with only one jarring crash and grating of metal at the end - to RND sector. Once the hoverbot is (more or less) safely parked, the team passes through a series of large, thick metal doors to find yourselves in a hallway lit by green symbols on the ceiling. The corridor itself is unpainted, however, suggesting that it is not treasonous for you to be here, and the presence of various infared and red clones seems to confirm that.
As you walk along, a screaming alarm klaxon suddenly goes off, and the doors slam shut and seal behind the team. All nearby personnel take off at a dead run, and all of these foreboding green signs on the ceiling turn quickly to a much more relaxing red. The flashing red triangles helpfully illuminate your path to the R&D labs, which is nice, as the corridors have completely emptied of all life. After three or four minutes, the alarm abruptly stops, leaving the corridors utterly silent (though the red triangles continue to pulse).
As the team enters the lab, you see two clones behind a counter; an older man is dressed in a bulky indigo envionmental suit of some sort, and the other is a younger man wearing a bulky yellow suit of similar design.
"Welcome to R&D!" the indigo chirps in friendly greeting. "I am Misterwa-I-ZRD, and this is my assistant, Jimm-Y-EEE. What can we do for you troubleshooters, today? You have a mission number, I presume?"

Hey folks!
I am endeavoring to call myself "back". That may not quite yet apply, but I hope for that to be the case soon.
The tl;dr version is this: we just had baby number nine, the last of the Suddeth clan. She was born at 32 weeks (two months early) due to my wife having life threatening complications that required a hysterectomy and part of her bladder to be removed. The baby spent 19 days in the hospital before coming home.
If you want to see way too many baby pictures, you can scroll through my facebook page. If you'd like to read some in depth stuff on how I've been dealing, I wrote a blog post about it.
Or, just say hello or whatnot. I'm looking forward to some gaming!
