Topic: The Official Red Dragon Inn Name Generator thread Subject: eyep
I'm working on the seed names for halflings right now. Other planned name generators:
Vidarak (Viking)
Brathunspar (Gnome)
Orcs and/or goblins are a great idea, we'll do those. I also plan to do more general fantasy names, to fit with various settings.

Stuart looked up from his PDA to see the others had pretty much all boarded the lift - save Simon, who was ignoring the door close warning, the lift, and the entire mission. The man seemed broken, as he simply stared at someone's pants.
Calmly, Stuart got to his feet, and stepped to the open door. "Simon," he called out pleasantly, "you are being inefficient in our mission against the communists. Inefficiency is treason against Friend Computer. The sentence is death."
With that, the handsome young man aimed his autolaser at his fellow troubleshooter and fired an instant before the lift doors closed.

Topic: Some Secrets are Best Left Buried... Subject: scout, scout, scout it out
18th Olemra (Thirkday), 452 E.R. - dusk
Outskirts of Filwood(?), Ertain
Isaac accepted the offer of the paladin's horse with a thankful nod. While mounted combat was not something the peasant-turned-adventurer had much experience with, he fully understood the value of the horse's speed, should he need to make an escape. Of course, riding horseback did nothing to improve his chances of moving undetected...
The mist hung thick and heavy, and the remainder of the party disappeared much quicker than the young warrior wold have believed possible. Soon, he was alone in a sea of sticky mist, and despite his best efforts, Issac felt himself tense more than once as shadows seemed to dance at the periphery of his vision, yet disappeared when viewed directly. From time to time, odd sounds could be heard filtering through the gathering darkness, but again, nothing made itself seen.
It seemed to take an achingly long time to ride down the slope toward the dim lights that he hoped represented Filwood. More than once, Isaac checked to make sure that his sword was loose, and ready for an easy draw.
Despite his attentiveness, the young warrior almost rode the dapple gray right into the side of a building - only the horse's own instincts prevented the crash. sheepishly, he reigned the mount to the left and into the packed earth that represented a street.
For the time being, it seemed that the mist was a bit thinner - Isaac could make out several buildings, despite the fact that darkness had almost completely fallen. The village was quiet, and the only person that he saw scurried into a building without raising a greeting. However, there were lanterns and such lit in most buildings, though all windows were shuttered against the weather.
After another few moments, Issac came across a battered wooden sign painted with the images of a gray fish and a green duck - the Fin and Feather tavern. This was Filwood, without a doubt.

If you wanna take the horse, and Neri doesn't mind, I can assume that you are riding it. I have it as the only one in the party.
It's just a regular, good quality riding horse - not a special paladin's mount. Not even a warhorse.

Stuart saw the altercation concerning Oscar, Julianne, and the Yellow. For the briefest of instants, he considered pointing out that the Yellow was standing in the way of their mission against the communists - but the desire to not be shot on the spot for insolence overshadowed that thought in a hurry.
An infared was dead, the cleanliness officers were on the situation, it did not concern Stuart and was not his problem. Therefore, he calmly walked past the developing scene to board the lift.
Once safely aboard (assuming that Stuart makes it), the tech officer opens his PDA and begins to tap on it.

Aryan placed her hand on her hip and fixed Isaac with a look. "Are you serious? Rain or no rain, we know there are zombies out here! We didn't kill all of the ones that we fought - so those are at least still around. I'm betting that there are more where these came from... who ever heard of zombies walking down a road for no reason?"
The little mage shook her head in annoyance. "You're right. There might be more trouble in the village down there. But we know that there is trouble out here. So why be uncomfortable and unsafe?"
Aryan huffed out her breath. "No, I saw we go find real shelter."

Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off Subject: tactically speaking
As Arien rode through the throng of fleeing survivors, his blood slowly began to boil. Why was it that those with power felt the need to use it to hurt those without? Why did their pursuits require them to injure innocents?
Even though he was not personally responsible, the knight still felt shame at the lack of action on the part of the priests of Heironeus. How could they claim to be a follower of the god's just path, yet sit idly by while such evil was done to the defenseless? Even were they too cowardly - or too weak - to intercede directly, could they not have done something? At the very least, gone for help?
When Char and Dapple returned with a tale of sadistic destruction and inhuman monsters, Arien felt his blood boil even hotter. "This smacks of a trap," he stated. "Surely these creatures know that those of pure heart will not sit idly by and let them inflict such damage on the innocent. I would guess that they know we will come, and have picked their place to make a stand against us."
The heir to House Thedell reigned his warhorse and spoke further. "It is clear that we must take the fight to them, but let us do what we can to minimize their advantages. We should approach them from different angles so as to give ourselves the best chance. If our mages can bring the flyer down, so much the better - that is an edge that we clearly do not want him to have."
Arien scratched his chin. "While we are at range, let us hit them with everything we have - magical and martial. Once we close to melee, we'll have to be more careful."
The knight looked to his friends. "Is there anything I have missed? A better approach?" All knew that Arien would of course be charging directly into the fray - the only real question was the tactics that the rest would use.
