Since when do you need reasons to use exploding arrows or invisible bodygauds wielding ginsu swords?

I'm close to having site searching 100% functional, and about as cool as you will find anywhere on the web.

I'd like two more players for this game. We have a jedi and a soldier.
Newbies to the Star Wars system are welcomed to join!

All of the major indexing is done. A few posts won't get indexed this time through; I did a baseline index and am implementing the features to index posts as they are made.
At some point in the future, I will schedule the site to dump the existing indexes and auto-reindex in the wee hours of the morning. To keep it fresh, I ought to have it do so on a regular basis (to remove references to deleted posts, etc).
But that being said, we'll have 1000% more search capability than we once did.

If you're going to play a sylvari, please use the words sylvari or syl - not elf or elven.

To do this properly, you need a listing of every word in your forms, and which page they occur on.
Now, I have removed most common words (a, and, the, we, etc) - but that is still an astonishing number of words to index.
Takes a long time to run.

Christmas it is! Yay! **smites Tann for insolence**
Joazann, Tann is correct - he, you, and Vanadia are fine. I had to replace our druid and mage due to RL issues. I'll do a little "reality editing" on the opening posts.
Saw your post in the Q&A thread, YeOlde - good job! Looking forward to the character sheet... just email it to me ([email protected]).
Brianna - I'll be happy to help you with your sheet. Human is fine (if you pick human, I'd appreciate you taking the time to also pick at least a nation or region that you come from), as is Sylvari (our elves). The overall concept is fine with me; sounds like an aristocratic character... could provide for some fun RP.

Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off Subject: right, then...
The gods themselves were watching down on this group - of that, there could be no doubt. Things had gotten very ugly very quickly, and Arien knew well that it could just has easily been his own body slowly cooling on the floor, rather than that of the Blue. Accordingly, the knight spoke a prayer of thanks under his breath to Heironeus.
After ascertaining that no immediate threat remained, Arien checked on his companions. Valentine and Maximus bore wounds as serious (or more so) than his own - not a good sign, and Dapple was less than hale.
He moved to help Jal to his feet, making a point of thanking the strange mage for his assistance. The knight knew well that without that toss of his sword, he would liely be dead right now. Arien had trusted Dwan's judgement on the man, and Jal had proven that trust well-placed - let no one doubt his sincerity or trustworhthiness, no matter how strange his habits might be!
Kilgim made valid points about the extent of their wounds, but even in a normal situation, Arien would have been loathe to back away at this point; doing so would simply give the enemy time to regroup and prepare for them. But with Alloryen in the picture, there could be no other way.
"Friend Kilgim," Arien stated, "you are correct that we would benefit from some rest and healing - but you are also correct that our enemies would do the same. I fear that if we allow them to prepare, we may find ourselves in an even worse situation."
The knight paused. "However," he continued, "I may be allowing my own personal feelings to cloud the matter. The fact is, Kilgim, I cannot retreat from here - not with Alloryen being held prisoner. I will not compel - or even ask - any of you to accompany me further, but I cannot, will not, leave."
Arien unstoppered a healing potion and took a draw. "I will listen to your counsel, friends, but you must understand that I can but stay the course."

As you can see, this game has been idle for months. However, our resident padawan has expressed a desire to continue the game, as has our red-haired mercenary soldier... so we're on again.
Note: if you currently have a character in this game and would still like to play, let me know. If you are NOT currently in the game, feel free to create any non-jedi sort of character and lay 'em on me!

That is correct. I decided that a color for each TYPE of rules-based game would be too much - if you see a red dot, you know it's a rules-based game. That's enough.
However, I think that there's enough of a difference in recruitment threads, Q&As, and general chitchat to warrant differing colors for them, even though they are all in the same overall forum.

Brianna, feel free to make your character female. If you'd take the mage position, I'd be so very pleased.
YeOlde, go ahead and gobble up the cleric spot. You'll need to pick an Audalisian deity - if you need help with this, PM me. Or you can go druid, if you'd rather.
Both of ya: get me a concept as soon as you can, we'll iron out character sheet details as we go. The big thing is, we need to get this derailed game running!

The color code is visible on the main forum page, as well as on a given forum (general, rules-based RPG, free form, etc) page - note the colored dots beside each category name.

...are a reality. Use your long name, fine. But you can now provide a short name for use in the "Last five Updated" list.
This field is visible on the "new topic" page - and if you leave it blank, it just uses the existing message subject.
For existing topics, site staff can edit these (as they always have been able to), and the general public may edit their own threads (i.e. topics they have started) by going to the bottom of the page and clicking the "Edit Topic" link.
