For clarification purposes, Midnight probably moved to J9 (wolves having 50ft move could do this in a single action) before attacking my fallen friend. My actions are made assuming the animal companion is there, though if you have another location in mind to attack from, I'll change my own movements to accomodate (assuming Total Defense saves me from the archer that killed the gnome)

Joshua > Illithid > -End Total Defense- > Move to K9 > Attacks Midnight of Basilisk Team

Joshua looks on as the sturdy, confident Gnome receives an arrow through his tiny body. He finds himeself actively dodging another set of projectiles as he makes his way closer to the body, then to top it off, the wolf had approached for some supper. Whether to rescue the probably dead Gnome, or to ensure fewer enemies, he runs up and takes his trident in both hands over his head, throwing some of his weight behind the descending pain.
(PMing nice attack rolls and pretty good damage in a moment)

Hehe, don't worry, I won't give yours away like I did Aardvark.
(That means you peeps must yet guess)

1) I am a red-head who has never dyed his hair

2) I am a shorty Gr. 12

3) I play an instrument known as a 'Euphonium'

Reralae and Aardvark, if you can't tell which is the lie, you may guess, but it would only put shame upon yourself.

Miran laughed as he caught his 'sister's embrace, never being one to withold his emotions. After a moment he released, glancing down at the body whose dearly departed soul may still be lingering close for a second, before fleeing.

"Not a friend of yours I take it?" he asks light-heartedly.
"Father couldn't tell me much in the time he had to spare, so I will have to learn much of the details from you, shall we enter?" he asks his other approaching 'family' while indicating the doors of the Broken Grommel. He then proceeded to the establishment, making a note in his mind of those who had answered Ormander's call and those who had not.

Joshua > Illithid > Moves to N6 > Total Defense

Joshua glances at Wyrmsting and decideds that his relatively remote location should keep him safe for long enough for him to escape if need be.

He grips his trident and jogs ahead, lingering for a moment in the shelter that the pond produces against those of the melee below who may think to attack him. With that in mind, he watches for the painful sting of arrows while he lingers though, for those do not stop at a simple terrain barrier. (+4 Dodge to AC + don't get to AoO for the next round) To save you from looking it up.

But like the story of the Boy and his drawings, every drawing you complete comes to life. Therefore you are forced to either hide your talent from the world or become a scientific subject/worse life than a celebrity. Of course you can hide it by not finishing every drawing, but I know how much that would eventually bug you.

I wish for a few more hours in the day to catch up on the sleep I've been loosing since the beginning of Gr 12 (maybe before?)

Subject: He who kills with a Trident | Joshua

Round 1
Joshua > Moves to R9 > Drops Trident by pool > Kneels and splashes face

The red-haired man with the trident approaches the water feature of this particular arena terrain. He dips his hands in the water and splashes his face with a bit of water.

Round 2
Joshua > Stands while Picking up Trident > Stretches a bit

He picks his weapon up again as he rises to his feet then stretches a few of his muscles that he hasn't worked for a few minutes.

Round 3
Joshua > Waves pleasantly to the people he is about to fight to the death with as they pass (Full Round)

I think that explains it pretty well

Round 4
Joshua > Moves to S4 > Places Trident prong into ground

Knowing that he has little over half a minute left, Joshua quests out to a relatively isolated spot (as of yet) and stabs his oversized fork into the ground.

Rounds 5-9
Joshua > Scans battle field, watching others enter, anticipates the coming fight, considers ally's positions >< Repeat

He stands silently, arms folded across his chest, waiting for the next multiples of seconds.

Round 10
Joshua > Picks up Trident > Stray hand adjusts any uncomfort in chain tunic

Finally he snatches up his trident and with great anticipation waits for the signal to occur any second now.

Topic: You Filthy Little Thief!!!
Subject: Miran

"I certainly hope you told my friends everything they wanted," yet another woe of the would-be theives stepped from along side the Broken Grommel, out of the shadows.

Of all his friends and orphaned comrades, Miran was the latest to come to his 'father's cry. He made his way through the dark streets in the shadier part of town surviving with largely undeserved reputation, perhaps a little luck, and a short-cut or two over the fences of his neighbours.

Miran, ungifted with a surname, approached the door of the orphanage, paying a glance in homage to the silver ram as he had on several occasions before. This time however, he had no time to bewilder and amaze the children with his illusions. They hardly seemed to mind that they could see him the first time they opened the door, though a part of him knew that it was because he offered a last distraction before bedtime.

Soon enough, Ormander found the answer to the young one's rebelious plan. "Of all my sons and daughters, the few that still live close show up too late to even arrive at the last moment." He chided Miran, who happily gazed back amongst the children telling him about the others who had returned earlier.
"I'm sorry father, I kind of lost the time earlier. Before I knew it the sun was leaving us for the night." Miran offered in excuse, staving off the attempts on his life that would otherwise force him to produce an illusory creature for the children to chase down.
"Your brothers and sisters have already all come and gone, down to the Broken Grommel, you should leave immediately to make up for forgotten time," Ormander told him,"and stop usurping my power over these young ones."
"What? No foot massage, not even a drink? I feel insulted father." Miran returned, earning himself a stern look from the one who saved him from the life of a lone child. "I'm off," he said, returning to his usual smile.

His brothers and sisters may have left sooner, but he had one advantage: He never left the familiar streets, and to complete that, he had never grown above using certain shortcuts here and there. As a result, he slid into the dark ally next to the Broken Grommel in time to hear the scoundrels depart with their information, and catch a glim of the insubordinate counting the Guain.
--

The man that stood before them was certainly not much of a physically imposing figure, being hardly muscled and very thin, though he carried about himself an air of sharpness, in blade, in dress, and even in cunning, visible in his eyes.

"If you have nothing more to say, by all means keep going," he says as he crosses his arms over his chest, allowing passage past him.

"One last thing, if you are holding onto something that we may want to know, run fast, for Percifeer is a little . ." he pauses for dramatic purposes, considering a particular memory.
"Hot-blooded."

(Miran may be a bit of a fool, but he is no idiot, he may stand unthreateningly now, but he remains at least a little wary, not that I really expect an attack after the intimidation dealt by my friends)

They're a base class in Complete Warrior, they have high BAB, good Fort saves, and for the level I'll be taking of it, they get Weapon Finesse as a class feature. Whatever else you need to know is there, though I suppose that would be obvious . . . .

I figure I should ask before I just hand in my character sheet with mysterious spells and such.
I inquire whether I can be part Swashbuckler, but a little more importantly, if I can utilize the Spell Compendium for my pretty Illusions. Sorry if I'm taking longer than is desired, I shall hand in soon with as much character description as I can muster.

This looks so interesting that my spine is tingling. Of course on the other hand, I'm currently making a character for another game, though that game promises to be short, so perhaps this looks even better.

Of course, I have to first make a good character, complete with background, which I've done I think once before (and am trying to do again for Filthy Theif) I don't know if my quality of writing is up to standard, though I would like to apply for a position anyway. What kinds of party roles are desired?

I will find my better samples of writing later so I can officially apply. At 11:17 here though, I will get some sleep and do stuff in the morn.

Edit: Haha, I realized sometime after I logged off last night that the writing involved said paragraph, I'll just get to that soon.

Joking aside, I'll get to that character as quickly as I can while taking time for a personality and such. "A good character isn't defined by his stats, his stats are defined by his character". I'll look at making a cleric, though I haven't decided yet. At any rate, I'll pour as much of my unfocused attention and absent resources into it ^-^.

Though knowing me and my attentiveness, I should ask two things before I dive in too deep. Has the game for this started already? Or is there room? Most importantly as of late, has this thread died in the last few days (this is actually least of my worries this time because of the time of last post.

If this is indeed an open game, I will begin cranking out a persona as soon as possible.

Valerick's face contorts with disgust for a moment, then glances at his comrades. "What do you think that is?" He asks, then returns his attention to the stairs.

He pauses to consider how much longer his power can support the glow enveloping his symbol, then begins to carefully descend, step-by-step with his sheild held before him, and his sword one step behind.

The repulsive smell silently infuriated Valerick, as if it was curling up to his nose out of sheer mailice. He forced himself to ignore the smell and the affront it posed, keeping his growing irritation under the surface of his faintly sparkling skin, the increasing control required to stay calm manifesting itself with a semi-aloof expression on his face.

I started on 3.5 so I guess I'm biassed, but I like it. Then maybe that's just 'cause I haven't really had any experience of previous editions.

I'm mostly posting to comment on Grugg's statement: I never really liked the Gnomes as a base race (again, I was biased), I learned of Gnomes as they related to Syplhs, Undines (Undini?), and Salamanders, as elemental-ish creatures. That being said, The Half-Orc? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

On another note, I cannot help but wonder what they think they'll throw in there to replace 'em.

If people start mass-purchasing 4.0E, they'll break off a small chunk of my faith in humanity, which has been taking some pain recently.
