Sounds very similar to what happened to me while I was absent from the Inn.

Hope to see you soon

For the record, it's pretty difficult to go round the back of a house built into the side of a ravine

Sorry for not making that clear.

"Hey guys, hold up," Twig cut in, "The do-"

The door smashed open on its hinges, swinging to the wall and hitting it with an almighty crash.

The lower floor of the house was quite simple; a big open space in front of the door filled with only a few chairs and a table, with a straight staircase rising up into the gloom of the upstairs.

As the door opened, metal clicked against metal, and before Karia could even stabilise herself from the door-shoving, a huge chunk of wood on a chain came swinging toward her.
She was flung from her feet to land in an ungainly heap outside. With a second set of clicks, the door swung gently shut.

The group finished their stew and headed outside.

Making a beeline straight for the forge, it didn't take long for them to see the cast iron Number Ten fixed onto the wall with thin bolts, on the front of a building that was built into the side of the ravine.

The house had two floors visible from the outside, windows both on the ground floor and second floor. The windows were boarded up from the inside at ground level, and it seemed that the only entrance was through the front door, whose dark metal latch clearly advertised that no-one was supposed to enter.

So to jump forward a tad, and prove that I exist, I'm assuming that the group has headed to Number Ten ^^ Ominous, aye?

Edit: extra info has been sent to some of you

"You have given us information, and are due payment. And I hear tell one form of currency down here is a duel. Care to fill me in on any details of such an engagement before I begin to remove your limbs?

Dom was just about to respond when Karia ran out of the tavern. He raised an eyebrow quizzically, but looked quite worried.
"Er... what just happened?" he asked Desrik, "Was it something I said? I don't seem to recall mentioning 'Shabbylar', whatever that is."
He glanced toward the door before continuing, "Hey, well, was nice meeting you, hope to see you around at some point. Bye!" he finished as he quickly headed in the direction of the exit, twirling past the old man in the armchair.

Mindpower is awesome.

Just took the tram home from a supermarket, and was sat on a seat facing the back, just in front of a very shiny glass partition.
So I can see stuff go past, whilst seeing it come towards me in the glass. Of course, being the silly moo I am, I decide to fixate on the reflection.

And I convinced my mind that I was facing the front and goinf forwards, not backwards. Freaked me out when I stood up as the tram slowed for my stop and slowed the wrong way.

... I need a life.

Not really my style. I keep roleplaying characters of disappeared people, albeit not as well I only kill them if scenario demands it.

"C.. Can I have some?"

"Well look who's finally up," Vyran said as Twig awoke, "Here you can have mine. So sir... what name do you have?"

As Twig responded, the bartender strode over with another bowl and roll to replace Vyran's. He winked and headed off once again.

Karia smiled as she greeted Dom, "I have heard of you, I was the one inquiring about the tavern position, but I'm at odds because I am owed a debt by Butterfingers.. I just can't seem to find him.." She batted her eyelashes and made sure her form was in full view of the old man. "I don't suppose you would be inclined to help, I would be very grateful."

Dom gave his best saucy grin and nodded to the young woman. "I'll happily help a demoiselle such as yourself, particularly so if you show yourself to be very grateful," he put stress on the word grateful, stretching it until the word itself seemed as well-defined and solid as porridge, before standing up to continue, "Butterfingers spends most of his time in a house next door to the smithy, labelled Number Ten in cast iron lettering. A little bird told me that he has a crossbow set up on a tripwire up the stairs, but the little bird was a tad... distracted... as she told me that. Now, would you like to continue this conversation... upstairs?" he finished, taking a couple steps closer to Karia, close enough for her to smell a slightly musty if not unpleasant odour of tanned leather.

"Hey Tralen, were there any powerful people or wars here recently?... I get a off feeling from this place."

"Not that I know of," the bard replied, gazing around himself, "Most of Pardinal has been occupied by some foreign force at some point, so anything could have happened."

"I guess we should just top up on supplies and get ready for tomorrow, Will you all be going to the inn and get supplies in the morning?"

"Agreed," Assal nodded, "Unless anyone has anything they want to do whilst we're here. I'll deal with the supplies and acquiring rooms at the inn, if you wish. I owe you all that much at least," he added with a grin, "Since I'm the one who dragged you all here."
Without waiting for a response, Assal strode calmly off towards the inn. Anyone who wished to follow was capable enough of doing so, in his eyes.

Now that they have reached the central square of Fudrien, the group can see (or see signs of):
- Mad Hatter Inn
- Brian's Arms
- A deserted marketplace (stalls only there in mornings)
- a graveyard
- Temple of Kith-jora
- a couple of workshop-looking buildings
- a small, officious building labelled "Archives"

Am roleplaying Tralen for now. Apologies, Kamina

No probs It's cool and all that we revitalised the Lute, but if those players go off into an adventure, then it dies again ^^

Stupid HTML doesn't seem to understand the word "centre". Huh. Silly American formatting, misspelling such an easy word

Today’s Menu

  • Spicy Steak Casserole

  • Root Vegetable Stew

  • A selection of early season greens

  • Stewed plums with custard

Beverage of the Day: Acacia Honey Mead

It is early summer. This day is promising rain, clouds slowly accumulating into a grey mass of darkness above the Inn. The local farmers are hoping it will pass, as the crops have had a lot of rain recently, and sunshine is what they'll need. Too much more rain and they'll spoil.

The stage stands unoccupied.

Three tables have patrons seated around them.

A table in the middle of the room has five patrons seated at it: a tall female half-orc clerk wearing stained clothing with dark hair and a wrinkled face, an elderly human male wearing drab robes with pure white hair and a worried face, a male half-orc hawker wearing adventurer's garb with dark brown hair and an apprehensive look, a youthful female human merchant wearing recently-cleaned clothing with brown hair and a deeply shadowed face, and a small male gnome scholar wearing non-descript clothing with matted hair and a hard face. They are busy waking up over a bowl of porridge and discussing a nearby dungeon very loudly.

A table to the side has a hooded white-cloaked figure, who doesn't appear to move, save to take swigs from a flagon of honeyed milk. The figure appears to be waiting for someone.

The last table has a heavily bandaged human wearing cleaned yet still bloodstained clothing. She has obviously dyed black hair. She is waiting impatiently, often looking around the room, looking bored.

A seat near the unlit fireplace is occupied by an old halfling with a pipe, gently puffing smoke out into the room. She smiles occasionally, seeming to reminisce of times long past.

There's loads of freeform at the moment it seems. Pyro's games look very interesting, so I'd check through there if I were you Take a flick through the most recent Recruitment threads and you'll see that most are freeform or rules-light.

The group set off from the Inn as soon as they were all ready, heading out on the road towards Fudrien.
They made a slow, yet determined pace. There was no rush, so it was quite a calm journey. For the most part, they walked in silence, occasionally broken by a song from Tralen. Well, it could only be called silence if "silence" referred to the constant stream of tall tales from Moon. Which never stopped. Ever.
They arrived at Fudrien in the evening.

The town was uncomplicated: a simple set of buildings surrounded with a wooden palisade, organised around a central square. Tralen, who had visited the town before, pointed out the Mad Hatter Inn, Brian's Arms forge, and the two guards holding the gates.

"Evenin'," one nodded to the group, "Coming back after a long adventure?"
The other shook his head, "If that were the case, Jim, they'd be bleeding their way into town. They're clearly on the road to an adventure, stopping here overnight. Welcome to Fudrien, lady and gents."
"What if they have a healer with them? They could have been on an adventure, and been healed afterwards."
"Where's their treasure?"
Jim raised an eyebrow, and his colleague continued.
"If they'd stormed a dungeon, they'd have a load of treasure, and would be wanting to sell it in town."

The conversation continued for a long while, but the adventurers just kept walking into the town, soon finding themselves in the central square. The sun was on its way towards the horizon, and the inhabitants were slowly heading home for dinner.
