Ah, the possibility we're not taking into account is that... who says that Grugg is the one who travelled through time?

I accuse Olan of going back in time to father Grugg!

My first real post on the Inn was in Demon Wind Recruitment thread, run by him. A few months later, I returned and joined the game, my first rules-based RP ever. Never spoke to him much, but that has nonetheless made an impression on me.

There is a ravine high in the Dark Mountains, a ravine so deep that no-one knows what is at the bottom. This ravine is named the Cleft.

Those who fall down it are never heard of again in the world. But these people do not just disappear.

Vyran, Twig, Desrik and Karia lie in the bottom of this ravine, finding themselves in a small pool of water that broke their fall - not without injury, as the bruises that cover them testify. Surrounding the pool are stone buildings: a tavern and a smithy are easy to recognise based on sound and smoke, but there are many other buildings, most built into the cliffside possibly houses or tradesperson's workshops. Whatever the case, it is a quaint little village in the depths of the Cleft. Passersby do not pay much attention to the four unconscious figures lying in the pool, which means that people falling down the Cleft is clearly a common occurrence.

A glance upwards lets one see a shaft of light shining down from a gap in the rock a good few miles above their crevasse, the midday sun casting a few rays of direct sunlight into the village.

The things that shock the group? First, that they have no memories save their name and their language. Second, that they are naked as the day they were born.

Everyone could see that she appeared to be going through some of her things for one of her pouches spread out on the grass before her, including a four-pointed star, about 3 inches in size between the points, of some white metal with rainbow reflections in it was identical to one Assal owned.

Assal's eyes widened on seeing the star, and his hand discreetly dropped to a pouch, which was empty. The look of shock quickly faded, replaced by a look of amusement - which had a certain falseness to it, the onlookers could tell.
"I would hope that you refrain from liberating my things in future, Moon - I am bad enough at losing things, without you losing them for me, such as that metal star," he muttered with a smile, before turning about and greeting Aquascales with a nod, Oswald with a handshake and Tralen with a strange twirly handshake.

I suspected we'd need a Q&A thread for this.
Could everyone involved in this adventure do a relatively detailed inventory? Basically, whatcha see below.

As the conversations tapered down to a background hum of pleasantries, Assal yawned, and began the inexorable climb towards a bed - in the correct room, this time.

He was asleep in no time at all.

When he awoke in the morning, he took a moment to lie back and let the rising sun do its work, casting light through the open window. He smiled as he was blinded, and got up to get his gear together.
He descended to the bar, clad in his armour and spear strapped to back, the pouches around his belt all in place, and a light rucksack on his back, over the top of the characteristically brown cloak. He ordered something to eat - not minding what. It didn't take long to eat the porridge, and he headed outside.

He spied one of his would-be companions lying on the floor near a tree, so he headed towards her; unhitching his spear, he lay back against the tree before Moonbeam (glad that he had purchased supple armour).
"Good morning to you. Moonbeam, was it?"

Aye, both you and thezerowulf still need to write each other's character's backstory. We can't really start without secrets, can we?

"Thrice and Once" took me most of the last few months preparing. When I say "epic", I mean epic. Expect to be surprised by it. As to why, well, I can't tell you the plot, or else there'd be no surprise

I'll consider starting up another game soon, once I've got Wanderlust on the road.

I have no particular preference. Though if you start it, I may have to take the reins briefly at some point to do some foreshadowing

Politely refusing the offer of food, Assal frowned as Oswald deliberately baited Moonbeam. He could sense that something was probably going to go wrong before their adventure was over.

He ordered a drink from a passing waiter, and sighed as he took a swig of his newly-arrived goat's milk, willing the night to end and tomorrow to arrive.

Teller, first things first: you being new here isn't an issue

Apologies for the lack of reaction from Assal, but at the moment he was engaged in conversation with Oswald, and *mumbles some poor excuses*. I'll try to get more interaction with our resident midget

If I end up GMing, it'll probably be regulated a little in my style. Basically, when having your character take actions, either leave the result open-ended ("Bob lunges at the goblin" instead of "Bob shanks the goblin") or simply asking whether or not it succeeds or not. I tend to go by rule of common sense ("Does Bob, as a well-trained warrior, have a realistic chance of hitting the goblin? Of course he does") and, if split half and half between two equally possible results, will go by rule of fun (a rickety mine cart getting stuck in the depths of a cavern is more fun than it going round the mine and getting back out again)... and if that fails due to the two possibilities being equally fun... I'll flip a coin.

If anyone doesn't like that, then please speak up.

Nah Zerowulf, let's just leave it as is. I'll trust you with it The only problem with having a single thread for all theoretical adventures based from the Lute is that... well, what if you had TWO concurrent adventures? And what if the adventure turned into a campaign?

That was totally not a hint, by the way.

As a side note, nice foreshadowing there

Assal shrugged. "From what I know of the region, we will not require a stock of supplies until we reach the ruins themselves, as there are many farming villages between here and our destination, and it will be easy to acquire what we need through fair means or foul," he winked as he continued, "I prefer fair means, however sometimes one man's survival takes priority over another man's comfort."
