As the two men looked on, the sleeping figure suddenly disappeared.

A calm, female voice sang out, in perfectly clear and smooth tongue, "alvin has been sucked into the void. Challenges are scaled accordingly."

The draught continued, and even seemed to blow harder, now.

The nurse raised an eyebrow, "You're not in a very good state so I wouldn't recommend leaving the clinic... however you'll probably disregard my advice, so I'll let you go ahead," she smiled.

"He's probably still on the main square in the aftermath of today's events. It'll take a long time to clear this mess up."

That said, the bells struck five times, and what the nurse had been about to add was drowned out.

Gabnar took a few steps forward. He too already wore his armour, and pulled his shield off his back, readying himself quickly as his soldier's training required.

He placed his backpack onto the ground near his companion's horse. His spear he kept strapped to his back.
He'll have overblown the idea again... Cockroaches, probably. Won't need the spear, just boots... he thought with a grin.

But then it occurred to him that...
"Smell that? Not cockroaches, at least not normal-sized."

Following Aiden into the building, he knelt to examine the gnawed wooden planks... "Cockroaches don't eat wood," he proclaimed.

Subject: Brian enters the scene.

Brian grinned, sat nearby at the same table. Ken's habit for saying the wrong - or at least inappropriate - things often came into play.

He joined the crew a long long time ago, trying to leave his home planet of Osiris, with the little cash he had. Through swift persuasion he managed to get aboard as a passenger to "Anywhere", but soon proved invaluable to the crew as only medical professions can be.

There were always broken people needing fixing. When you have more breakers than fixers.. well, with Ken and the captain around, he wasn't exactly bored.

"How in the 'Verse did you get that knife blade in your stomach??" he had asked after a quick, almost routine checkup.
"Aaah, that was a brawl three years ago," Ken had cooly replied with a smirk.

Brian was continuously knocked speechless by the amount of punishment these two could take.
It had now become routine to check those two every time they got back from some task on the surface. They always got some injury, and every single time he found other problems from long ago.

And the train of thought derailled again.

As he took a swig of his drink... and swallowed reluctantly. It was pretty bad, and he didn't even know what it was. He winced.

Thomas drooled, unconscious, as a reply. But he appeared perfectly stable, in fact, stable enough to be carried. Without his armour, sword and money, he was much lighter to carry. However DHarem's robe would probably need a wash due to fragments of charred blue tunic and cloak.

But as Karrain greeted the Seeker, footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway that the guard captain had left through. They would have to leave through the front door, it seemed, and they needed to drop the keys off anyway.

((I'll leave it up to you two to describe of the guard post ))

The two remaining guards did another of those telepathic conversations, and the one to the right nodded.

He tossed DHarem a set of keys, saying, "Well actually that's a good proposition. When you're done with the keys, slip them into locker 22."

The other said, "If you'll excuse us, we have some things to do far away. Very far away. That ok with you?"

The third guard, headlocked, growled, "Abandoning your posts? I'll get the captain on you."

"We have the stories of five guards, and one bystander who happened to be beating us all up. If needed, we even have some injuries," the lefthand guard said, bashing himself on the head with the chair.

"You owe us one," the righthand guard added, "I'm Aaron and this is Leonard. Buy us a drink sometime."

The other friendly guard soon followed his companion in unconsciousness.

"Meh," Bon shrugged, "I'm going to stick around out here. We're down two men, and I think we need to keep our eyes open. I'll keep you aware of any new happenings."

Bon sat down on the edge of the stage and looked around.
"Say hi from me," he said with a slight smile.

The chair struck the guard square in the jaw, throwing him to the ground where he landed with a *crash*, leaving him immobilised.

The nerve strikes were quick and effective, with the two victims giving muffled gasps as their bodies went numb.

The three remaining suddenly became more wary at a foe who, without the element of surprise, could incapacitate them instantly.
The two on the right performed that sort of mental communication that is possible between people who spend much time working together. A mere glance at each other, eye movements, and they separated, preparing to flank DHarem around the table.

The third guard spat on the floor and simply picked up a longsword from the corner of the room, drew it, and charged at DHarem, effortlessly throwing the desk towards him at high velocity.

--------------

The captain smirked at Karrain's remark, "Oh, he'll be out in a moment. He's just checking on your friend."
He spun on his heels and set off, "If you'll excuse me I have a rogue mage to track."

Before either Bon or Karrain could get a word in edgeways, the captain was surrounded by guards and he was giving orders to search the area.

Bon frowned, "I hate that guy."

Particularly because it leads to better roleplay and not rollplay.

If we fill all the "roles", it's never fun. Needs to be that element that makes us imperfect as a team

In a traditional brute manner, the guards looked at each other once more, and, remaining silent, all lunged at the same time.

-------------

Elsewhere, outside, Bon and Karrain stood discussing further action, when they noticed the guard captain striding out from the guard post where DHarem had just followed him...

updated the system overall, and changed class setup.

Any "elite" classes you can suggest are welcome
Oh, and don't hesitate to minmax your class choices. You have no limit on what to choose.

Go nuts

Edit: oh, and the attributes: it is worth taking a second class to minmax your attributes (Strength, Agility and Mental) which are used for non-combat situations. You will get the best of all of your classes if that's not incentive to become a munchkin, I don't know WHAT is.

Subject: I AAAAAAAAAAAM the law!

The captain was now quite clearly smirking, and hadn't moved an inch.
"As his counsel you say? I thought you were a Seeker, not a lawman."

He tapped a little bell on his desk, which let out a very light *ting*.

"I'd hate to go all cliché on you but the City Guard IS the law. Justice limits us, and it is a good thing, but what we do on the moment is without limits. You did indeed not break the law by beating Alfson and Dingleby into a pulp. But you did break their honour, and you may find yourself on the wrong end of their blades."

He sat down in his wooden chair, and continued, "That said, they do have friends who won't take to you very well."

And that was when the two dazed guards got to their feet and four more entered the room.

"If I let them beat you into a pulp, I am not breaking any law: they are simply following honour codes."

The captain stood up and bowed, opening the second door behind him. "See you in the clinic, freelancer."

Now DHarem was alone with six brutes.
The desk and chair stood in the centre of the room, the two doors now shut, and the six men now circling the Seeker.

As for the map, I can only update it at weekends, but that won't be too much of a problem.

Alvin, wake up! *slaps*

May be a fine idea. I shall get in contact with some newbies

EDIT: All 67 rooms so far created have been mapped. Yayz.

"So it shall be, mercenary. Guards!"

Quite quickly two surly, armed men arrived in the office and saluted the captain.
"Escort this man to the street. He is harrassing me."

With an exchanged smile, the two guards each grabbed one of DHarem's arms, and began to drag him out.

The inkling of another grin edged inwards across the captain's face, "I don't think you're in the position to make demands like that. You were threatening me only moments ago and now you want me to allow you to see a potential criminal? As Tithuanan law requires, we must keep suspected murderers for a minimum of one day and for a maximum of a tenday without trial. I'll see about getting the procedure sped up, because you probably have a heavy schedule, freelancer that you are."

The word "freelancer" was spat out with small amounts of venom, quite clearly.

"I'll see about getting that trial tomorrow after thirdstrike. Will that be all?"

A crash awoke Varis from his sleep.

His eyes suddenly opening, seeing the nurse stumble into the room with a tray, miraculously not spilling the contents anywhere.

Regaining balance quite quickly, the nurse smiled at Varis, and made a quick apology, before offering a small round object, freshly baked, to the bedridden bard.

"Cookie?"
