Corrin's History:

Corrin Tosscobble is a well-known hero during the early years of the Age of Mortals. He is credited for leading the resistance against Malystryx the Red, disrupting her armies and clearing her minions after the dragon’s death, returning the Desolation back to the beautiful land of Kendermore, and destroying the dark dragon overlord, Norixious the Dead, the losing his life in the process.

Beginning in his late teens, Corrin joined Talin’s Irregulars, a resistance force of afflicted Kenders, in hampering and disrupting Malystryx’s goblinoid mercenaries. Corrin’s squad regularly disguised themselves as goblins in order to sow confusion and disunity amongst their enemies’ ranks.

As Corrin’s squad grew in experience, they began infiltrating deeper into Malystryx’s ranks, capturing supplies and eliminating officers before sinking back into the shadows. With Malystryx’s death at Sanction in 419 AC, Talin’s Irregulars ramped up their offensive against the Red’s remaining minions and mercenaries. Recruits from Kenderhome, afflicted Kender who hadn’t been able to find home amongst their true brethren, swelled the ranks of Talin’s forces. Through most of it, Corrin continue to lead his squad in dangerous missions against Malystryx’s dragon underlords, carefully undermining their leadership or ending their lives.

By 424 AC, while Talin’s Irregulars are making headway gradually pushing Malystryx’s forces out, the dead Red’s twisted magic continued to hold the land, making it nearly uninhabitable. Many of the afflicted Kender abandon their hopes of seeing Kendermore restored. Corrin, along with some of his closest companions begin looking for a way to release the land from Malystryx’s misery. The path takes them close to a decade to walk, with numerous side adventures and quests, not the least of which included recovering the Basin of Sirilla Celu.

In 433 AC, Talin’s Irregulars have been humbled in size, and the land has a new dragon overlord, Norixious the Dead, a dragon lich. Corrin and his companions penetrate deep into the dark dragon’s territory, overcome the wards surrounding the long abandoned Tower of High Sorcery, and place the Basin of Sirilla Celu on the Pillar of Flames erected 50 years prior by Malystryx. The dead Red’s magic begins to lose sway.

As the land begins to return to its previous lushness, Corrin and his companions join Talin’s Irregulars to cleanse Norixious and his undead army from Krynn. With the recovery of the Radiant Lance, Corrin manages to slay Norixious. However, the Lance splinters, a shard piercing the shadow-touched Kender and ending Corrin’s life.

Breebs, are you doing a blast type cleric or one that like to wade into battle?

Thanks. I think I'll take the first option. That stags closest to the class.

So... for a 15th level warlock with Charisma 20 who normally gets 3x 5th level slots... using the mana system, they'd get 20 mana points that refresh every short rest?

Thanks Alacrity.

Anything to add about generating ability scores. Elite array? Point buy? 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8? Roll your own? Something else?

My sketchy time got moved to starting today and extended to the end of the month. I should still be able to get online every couple days for a quick response and I do have e-copies of the books.

Let me know what you need from me.

Subject: Plans...

Hey Alacrity,

Depending on how the mana system works with sorcerers and warlocks, I presently have an Afflicted Kender [Halfling (Lightfoot)] Sorcerer [Shadow] 12 / Warlock [Hexblade; Pact of the Chain] 3 put together. He's a dark and moody blaster/controller from the Age of Mortals timeline of Krynn.

As Tobias watched the mighty Malystryx burn his village to cinder and ash, the world faded to grey. There, at the edge of the Shadowfell, Tobias first met her -- the Raven Queen. In the midst of the blazing heat, her voice was cool and comforting,

He's spent his life waging a guerilla war against the red dragon and her ogre and goblin minions.

Peace,

Ayrn

Cool! I just watch the most wicked lightning storm tonight!

So, I'm trying to decide between Bard and Warlock. Alacrity, can you talk to me about mana and spells slots and how that works out for Bards and Warlock?

Thanks!

Yeah, the 5e system does give a LOT of options to fill the core 4 roles... got something in mind, Breebs?

Arcane could be filled by Bard, Warlock, Sorcerer or Wizard...

Healing could be filled by Bard, Cleric, Paladin or Druid

What are you feeling?

I'm easy going regarding the classes. I have ideas for a barbarian, a bard, a cleric, a monk, a rogue, a warlock and, maybe, a wizard too... so maybe the rest of you choose first and I'll fill the gap.

Huh... I was going to ask something similar... or just note that I seem to be getting that same error message more often in the last 3-4 months or so than in the past. What does that error message mean?

Yep! That right there is totally what I was looking for. Thanks, Nomad. Yours too, Dragon-Soul. (Edit... and yours as well, Nimu)

Thanks for the link to the Character Board too. I'm mostly just looking to hear from you all, "Here's a brief description of my character right now and how I typically play her or him." Totally Meta OOC stuff with the complete understanding that our characters aren't static.

If you're able... totally fine if you aren't interested or able as well.

Hey, can all the players already in the game give a one or two paragraph snapshot of their character? What do they look like? What's their personality like? What are their strengths in combat and outside of combat?

If the new players already have an idea in mind for their characters, I'd be interested in hearing what you are hoping to bring to the virtual table too.

Peace,

Ayrn

I'm totally swamped with RL at the moment and will be for at least the rest of this month. I'm not interested in slowing this game down so either find him a new player or take him out (or NPC him). I can't guarantee I'll be back to this game.

Peace,

Scott
