Hey, I've posted.

You are welcome to disagree with Midge, and he definitely won't resist everyone coming... but he maybe would resist resting.

Minto went with Cedric, wanting a bath dearly too, and having no use for the droning on of Gib with his rites and rituals. It's just as likely Shinara's kiss saved us, than any strength in Therassor's arm!

The little mage was glad to find that he was returning to the coomon room just as Gib was concluding his prayers.

“So,” Gib said, having stowed his prayer book and, now, shouldering his pack, “Are we to be about our business then? Seek out Atharis’ order and then…”

“…Where is Cedric?”

“Resting, perhaps,” Ch’dau suggested, offering an uncertain shrug, “It was a long night.”

“Are we then resting before pursuing a meet,” Gib asked, raising his brows.

“What say you, Aranwen?" Ch'dau inquired. "Would you have me fetch Cedric or do we wait?”

"Neither, I say," Midge piped in. "Cedric is indeed resting, sleeping hopefully if the Merciful Mother has any kindness left. And I'd suggest most of us see if we might find a little more of Mort's hospitality.

"I, however, am going to meet Atharis' contact," the conjurer continued. "I do not imagine needing a full retinue. Aranwen, perhaps."

I'm out until Tuesday... Monday if I'm lucky. NPC away, Olan. The spellbook and gold chain for sure... Midge would probably turn out the fellow mage's pockets to see what other interesting things the human carried and "re-purpose" as much of it as possible.

My post is up. Party, please rescue Midge from this foolish behaviour!!

Olan, please feel free to NPC Midge this week. Work is super hectic this coming week, and we had a death in our extended family so I will be at a funeral this week as well. Feel free to move the story ahead.

After this burning hands attack, Midge will look to move back to his position in the centre of the party and will likely fight with his staff sling.

Peace,

Ayrn

Minto rushed forward, breaking rank to get a head of the party. Knowing now how the laughing undead were the darker and more dangerous of the shamblers, the Cidal conjurer moved in to get into striking range. His little hands formed together in a fan shape as the ancient words of arcane power formed in his mind were echoed on his lips. "Bjartr Isaltri, eldrvari pömnuria fjandi!"

OOC: Midge is looking to step out and set one of the gigglers on fire with Burning Hands (jets of flame 5 ft out in 120 degree spread in front of the caster, 1d3+6 damage, save for half damage). If possible, he'd love to hit both gigglers. If not, he'd love to hit as many undead as possible. If not, he'll just hit a giggler.

Midge looked up at Cedric, "Only if you think your god's favour will burn away this blasted fog? Otherwise, I think you'll just make matters worse."

Turning their sylvari leader, the little mage questioned, "So, where is that woman who took you bed last night? Did you pursuade her and her bodyguard to join our little company?

Once his friends had finished gearing up and calling down miracles (Midge was always amazed how much the gods loved his companions), the Cidal conjurer followed his companions out of doors. Finding his place amongst the company, Midge moved towards the sound of combat, letting Gib and Aracron take the lead.

As they moved deeper into the fog, Minto turned to Solanis' faithful, "Cedric, can't your dear god do something about this dreadful fog?"

1) Heal. -> YES
2) Equip armor -> Already on, but yes for everyone else
3) Check on Nya, Davena, Garn, Mort, and other guests that stayed the night. -> Yes
4) Eol had mentiond dragging undead bodies outside to burn them, Brom has concurred.  With sixteen bodies, this will take a little time.  Do this before or after pursuing other gigglers/aiding the town watch? -> No
5) A comment at one point had asked me about Mort (the Innkeeper).  Do you intend to check on him before you leave? -> Yes, see above.
6) Search and destroy giglers/assist town watch. -> Yes, but in the reverse if possible... as in, connect with Town Watch and coordinate a defense of the town, destroying the Gigglers/Undead
7) Find the mage contact, late hour be damned. -> Yes... though by the time we get to step 7, Cedric's god is liable to be up and about too.

Let me know, folks!

The cidal conjurer released his hold on the swarm and, no longer bound by Midge's magic, the insects gradually dispersed back from whence they came. Even as they left, Midge commented to himself mostly, "By nice if I could make them move around a bit. They'd clean up these corpses right nicely, I imagine. Hmmm... going to have to work that into my next study leave."

Looking around at his companions and hearing the sounds of more manical laughter outside, Midge wondered if he had dismissed his servants too soon. He let the thought go. No time for what could have been! Fate's far too fickle for such fantasies.

"Yes, my friends, prepare yourselves. Sounds as though there's more hero work that needs doing. Aranwen, where's your lady friend and her brute gone off to? Not sure how Davena can help, but Garn swordarm might be handy to have."

So many thoughts wanted to take up residence in Minto's mind. Thoughts like, Oh! You are rather clever, Minto! "Giving earth a hand..." That was well said! or Didn't I tell them to stay clear of the door? Does that haughty syl think he's the exception? or ...

But the cidal conjurer pushed all those thoughts aside to stay focused on harnessing the swarm. Even the battle priest's command to move didn't disturb the wee wizard. They'll just have to work around me.

OOC: Midge is continuing to hold his concentration on the swarm for at least the next round. If you are doing multiple rounds, Midge will continue to hold the swarm if it looking like there are still enemies walking through the swarm. When that stops being the case, he'll switch to firing sling bullets at the creatures.

Also, Midge definitely does not wear his robes around normally (though he does wear the golden band on the silver chain). This a mostly a reflection of his individualistic personality.

(Don't worry... I'm not looking to play Midge as the loner solo... he understands the value of working together to accomplish things... he just doesn't think everyone need to look the same doing it. That's boring! would be Midge's thought.

I have this picture in mind for Midge.

Question for the Olan: Are there still shambling walkers coming in through the door?

If yes, Midge maintains the spell.

"Looks like the earth needs a hand keeping it's dead!" quipped Midge, as the creatures from the road returned to trouble the party. "Stay away from the door, friends, and keep me safe. I need some peace!"

Once more, Midge's hand moved to his satchel, replacing the piece of leather with a square of red cloth. The words of power came to the Cidal's sharp mind quickly. "Deloi bitr, gath minen pomnuria fjandi!"

OOC: Midge is casting Summon Swarm. I'm hoping it will create the 10ft cube near the door, so that any creatures coming in through the door will have to pass through the swarm and take damage. If he can cast that from the "safety" of the second floor, awesome! Otherwise, he'll move to the bottom of the stairs before he casts.

Olan, if you don't care, I'd love for the swarm to be beetles and centipedes, as if the earth is trying to reclaim the dead. If you do care, I rolled a 53... so, bats.

Couple questions:

How far away is the window from the door?

How many creatures are able to come through the door at one time? How many through the window at one time?

How many creatures are already in the room with us? Is Midge able to tell how many are still outside?

Is it possible to have a rough map of the "battlefield"? (totally fine if no)

Subject: Why?

<<BANGING AROUND>>

Midge rolled over. Though the noise could wake a tiger, sleep grasped the Cidal tightly in it's loving embrace.

<<SCREAM CRIES OUT>>

Midge's brain begins to reach for consciousness. His eyes still closed, the wizard perceives his priestly bunkmate moving around. "Can you tell them to shut it already, Cedric. Surely, not even the Sun Lord himself is up yet!"

<<CALL TO ARMS>>

Minto's mind is suddenly fully alert. With agility, the Cidal bounds out of bed and throws on his clothes and then quickly turns to help Cedric into his armour. "Think they'll give us free breakfast if we save the day?" the small mage asks as he grabs his staff and satchel before they head out the door, but the priest is already busy talking to his god.

Midge feels a sprinkling of water as he passes under Cedric's arm. "May Solanis bless you!" the priest calls out.

"And Shinara you, friend!" the Cidal replied without looking back.

His mind was already seeing the strands of eldritch power coming together. Deft hands palmed the piece of leather from his satchel, even as the ancient words of creating formed in his mouth, "Vindr varden varda iet hjarta."

OOC: Casting Armor and looking to seeing where the commotion is coming from.

Hey Awesome-Sauce People,

I'm wondering if it would be possible to, when replying in a thread, to have the previous posts in the thread show up underneath the reply box (starting with the most recent post and decending to the first post) so that you can re-read the posts as you're replying and can copy and paste previous posts more simply while replying... would that be hard to implement?
