whoops. You're right. I paraphrased.

I think you actually said "I should really stop drinking during the week".

As you mentioned earlier...

drinking during the week may be counterproductive at times. ^_^

that.... really blows. Tess could... probably be a face.

*frowns* It would be handy having that one extra person, but I suppose we could, er, pick someone up later on?

Subject: Warm Fuzzies for Olan and others

After reading the quick blurb in the RDI contest thread, I wanted to send out some warm fuzzies to Olan. I hope all is well with you, and with any other Innmates that might be going through some natural disasters right now (e.g. tornados, flooding, etc.)

Topic: Realms of Twilight - A Journey Begins
Subject: Raina ~ And now for your viewing pleasure: A Dance with Death

Panting, Raina hauled herself onto the ledge next to the half orc. The ledge was unremarkable, save for how small it was. Her reprieve was short lived when the two large creatures in the air began to swoop towards the party. The half orc was already lowering a rope of his own to the two stuck on the side of the cliff. She discarded the rope and turned her face toward the sky.

The wyverns were approaching at an alarming speed. Wicked talons extended out from their bodies, and they looked intently upon their prey. Raina briefly thought about the crossbow on her back, but knee jerk reaction had her pull her rapier instead. She barely had enough time to steady herself before the creature was upon her. The Burglar had a momentary impression of wings, teeth, claws and skin before she was knocked across the body by something. Claws raked against her leather armor, but failed to penetrate the soft skin beneath. Her body spun uncontrolably on the spot. As she attempted to ascertain what was happening, Raina lashed out wildly with her rapier. It made contact, but the lack of reverberation through the blade told her that her blow had been shallow.

As she regained her balance, Quarlin’s head popped over the ledge. The half orc had succeeded in assisting the small Umbral onto the cliff ledge. Quarlin immediately began readying his crossbow. At least, Raina was relatively sure that was what he was doing, her head still spun from being whipped around. The second wyvern’s form disappeared down the face of the cliff, and where moments before the half orc was supporting the next climber from a kneeling position, his form flew towards the edge of the cliff.

Not good.

His face contorted with concentration, he had managed to stay on the ledge and not let go of the rope. Both wyverns prepared for a second pass. Raina again thought of the crossbow at her back, and knew there would be no time to pull it, load it, and fire before the second attack from the wyverns.

"Damn! He's been hit!,” Quarlin exclaimed as he moved behind the half orc, “Keep pulling, Gronz, I'll cover you and him as best I can."

Raina positioned herself between the wyverns and the two already on the ledge. There was no reason for those doing the rescuing to be flung off the face of the cliff. She felt terribly exposed. Her eyes tracked the wyvern that had flown at her; it appeared to be reading the next attack. “Stay away from the edge, Quarlin,” her mouth curled into a sardonic smile, but she didn’t look back at him, “ This bloody thing might knock me back into you, so mind your feet if that happens.” She shifted her weight so she was on the balls of her feet and waited for the beast to come to her.

Come and dance with me.

((OOC: Raina will use all of her acrobatic and climbing talents to stay on the ledge and attack (and, with luck, not get knocked into the other members of the party) This may be a stretch, but since she has fast stealth, I would gather that she knows how to make fluid moments without being detected, so if at all possible, she’ll try to use that to her advantage and feint (or ghost, rather.) right before the wyvern gets to her, enabling her to cut with her rapier and avoid a blow from the wyvern. ))

on a different but oddly related note:
This is a friendly reminder from one crewmember to all of the other memebers of Destiny ~ please give a little short paragraph or two about how your character works with others. It'll make things so much easier when we start Destiny's Flight if we can have some sense of 'we've been aboard this ship with eachother goin' on three years now!'.

What else do we need for the ship? I liked all of your suggestions, Al, and would love to incoperate them into Destiny.

Cortex Terminal, Black Box ~ 747.2
Wound Armor at 96 tons per point ~ 960

Stun Armor at 19.2 tons per point ~ 19200
(big ouch)

I also like #2.

As far as your list goes Al, I had no idea how to deal with those ~ apart from the Cortex link, but even then wasn't sure as to price list. I didn't know how equipped Destiny was before we got to her!

Does the Scrapware not count as a parts cache?

Subject: The List

Here is the ever hopeful list. I looked through both the Serenity book and the Six Shooters and Spaceships book. Let me know if I've left out a big glaring hole, but I *think* I've got it covered. Like I said, ever hopeful ~ this can definatly be trimmed down.

Plus I'm not sure what we would have picked up in the 2-3 years of Destiny running.

Topic: Destiny Flight - QnA
Subject: Tess's Blurb

Let me know if you guys have any questions about Tess ~ after all, we have known eachother for a couple of years now. Feel free to PM me if you want to reference some ... old joke, or situation in our upcoming game.

Tess? Oh sure, she’s easy enough to work with. You could say that she gets a little flip sometimes, but her general demeanor is fairly pleasant. Her humor can get pretty confusin’, it usually sounds just like every other gorram sentence that falls out of her mouth. I think we’ve all lost our lunch a time or two after one of her stunts, but she says she’s keeping that to a minimum. Well, she says that right after sayin’ “Devil made me do it”. Don’t talk too much ‘bout her life before the war, but she’ll jaw your ear off about cows and horses if you give her an opportunity.

It’s pretty easy to see that Tess considers Destiny her home, and everyone on it her family. That girl loves this ship. She and the captain have some kind of history. Not that kind of history, they were in the war together. The two can go rounds, giving each other a ration of luh suh, but nothing gets ugly. Naw, she’s not one to rile very easy, but if you do get under her skin, an’ she goes real quiet, you’d better hide. But like I said, pleasant enough. Don’t go worrying your purty little head about starting an argument with her. She’s even-tempered, sometimes crazy behind the wheel, but still pretty even-tempered.
