Whew! What a dosey! I thought I wasn’t going to make it in 5!
I started off with Kaltungo, which is a Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria (and let me tell you, that’s all they have on it).

1.Nigeria
2.Chili Pepper
3.Vitamin C
4.Citric Acid
5.Citrus

Because I can’t stop thinking about it: Kevin Bacon. And what the heck, I’d be impressed if you did it in 7 or less. ^_^

I’m putting this up anyway, dang it, even though Admiral posted before me. So whoever is next has to search for his citrus. PS~ I did it with less pages

I started with Gorditas Doña Tota

1.Mexico
2. Rodolfo Neri Vela
3.Cosmonaut

What a fun, slightly frustrating game!

Subject: Tess ~ Rum and Wine are not Friends.

The atmosphere had subtly shifted around the group as Norman Sellers sat down at the table. For the most part it seemed to have picked up in beat at the prospective client. Gracie, on the other hand, was looking mutinously at Mr. Sellers. Or was that Jason she was glaring at?

The captain wasted no time in getting down to business. He never did.

”Jon Brown, I captain that black beauty you were referring to.” Jon said smiling, ”You said you were looking for a fast ship, and I assure you whether you'll hauling casks or wine or outrunning a reaver boarding party, there's no ship you want save mine. Now I'm not sure why you need wine moved so fast, and I'm sure you can talk plenty about it, but I always found credits talk all for themselves, so what say we cut to the chase here. You give us a where, when and a price, and we'll get to makin' it happen.”

Well, that was a least a little better then Ken’s opener.

“Well that I can do and it is good to hear.” Mr. Sellers replied. He looked around the room again with that nervous glance, then spoke to the bartender who was coming up to the table. “Tony, can you get a bottle of the Bin 47 for us? Make it two and put it on my tab. Yeah, thanks.”

Sellers shifted his eyes around the room again. What are you waiting for? Tess casually brushed the side of her gun in a reassuring manner.

“You might as well taste what it is you are hauling right? Right? Or I hope you'll haul. Cause I need someone to haul it. Right?” His face was all smiles as he looked at each of them in turn. Tess mustered what she hoped was a convincing smile, although it might have been more like a grimace. “Whoa. Listen babe, whoever you think I killed, it wasn’t me. I make wine and that’s all. Grape stains only right?” He threw his arms open wide in what supposedly was a nonthreatening manner.

Babe?

It certainly looked like grapes to her, or maybe a little bit more then carelessness with a few bottles. She eyed his mouth to see if it might be permanently stained.

"WHAT did you just call me?" Grace said in a slightly high pitched voice. She was turning red.

"Look, Lao Buhn, I am not a babe. Nor do I like being called one. So, Lao Sheong , do yourself a favour and don't call me that. Dohn Luh Mah?" Grace’s words left no room for argument. Tess had to bite down on her fist to prevent her from laughing out loud.

The bartender arrived not a moment too soon, and Mr. Sellers wasted no time in pouring everyone a sample of his wine. The pilot was happy for an excuse to focus on something tangible. Her mind was still filled with laughter at the thought of Grace being called ‘babe’.

Norman relished in the aroma of the wine and then downs his entire glass. “Yeah – that’s a good batch. Anyway…where was I?”

Jason took a sip of his wine and said, “This is actually quite pleasant Mr. Sellers. As to where we were in our conversation…I believe that you were about to tell us about the cargo that you would like moved.” Jason, all confidence and smiles, was thinking about the possibilities of this new contact and the future business Norman might provide. If the job panned out and the crew performed well enough….this might turn into semi regular work and getting paid on a regular basis….that’d be nice too.

Ken remained quiet while he was drinking his wine. She was mildly surprised that he wasn’t going through it quicker. Deciding that it would be preferable to the rum she was drinking, Tess took a fairly large swallow and immediately regretted it. The wine and rum fought like cowboys and sheep herders. The flavor was pleasant, but she went from mildly intoxicated to drunk and sick to her stomach. She pushed the glass away from her and began to look towards the bartender.

“Right. Right. Okay. Right. You see, there is a lord on Osiris, good friend of mine actually. Well more of a business associate. Long time...yes. Baron Otello and I have had an arrangement for years where he throws this really big social event, you know like a gala, and he serves my wine. Cause it is the best in the Verse, that is what he says at least. I think so too but I have to be modest. I mean I spent a long time working out the acidity of the soil versus the natural climate of Greenleaf and how certain fertilizers are best used under the weather system that we have here …”

Tess got up from the table and walked over to the bar. The room wasn’t spinning yet, but rum and wine continued to do battle in her stomach. “Hey,” she muttered to the bartender, “could I get a glass of water please?” The talk at the table turned into a mix of Jason’s smooth talking and Mr. Seller’s continued babble. She began fighting the urge to puke right here at the counter when Tony slide her a glass of water. Sipping it gingerly, she made her way back to the table.

Jason was speaking directly to the client when she began to sit down, “One moment, Mr. Sellers, I believe that we can come to a deal but there are a few things that I’d like to clear up.” He wore an easy smile as he drilled Sellers, “What about any taxes or tariffs on the wine? Who is responsible for those?” Jason asked hoping that the answer wouldn’t be them; it’d certainly eat into the profit on this trip. “How many tickets for the party would you provide? Finally, who do we send the wave to so we can make sure you’re being straight up?”

Straight up? What?

“Well Grace, Tess, is Osiris in 9 days possible?”

Gracie spoke up first. Tess felt like she would have had an answer quicker, but the alcohol combination was doing funny things to her math. “As long as we don't have any problems, we can make it in about seven days. If we go at full burn, we can make it there even faster but we won't have any fuel left."

“I’d hate to go full burn,” Tess replied before she took another sip of water. Ugh, this isn’t helping either. “It always makes me nervous running Yuan Fen empty. Of course, with the proper incentives we could have her go full tilt boogey, but Gracie’s right. She’ll make Osiris in about seven days, provided we don’t have any trouble along the way.”

Did that come out right? she wondered to herself. Her face turned a delicate shade of red and she took another drink of her water.

Subject: Raina ~ Unusual explicatives

The battled continued to rage on in the air. Well, a one sided battle at any rate. Wings flapped erratically as the weight of another continued to weigh down the wyvern. Raina’s body swung underneath its body as she maintained her grip on both the wyvern’s ankle and her sword. Her mind struggled with options.

Not enough strength to move from this position. Too much distance between me and the cliff. Stabbing it might mean killing it, which would mean we would plummet straight to the bottom. I am screwed. She decided on retaining her grip for a while longer to see if the wyvern would either try to land, or get close enough to the top of the cliff so she go let go.

Above the noise of her unwilling mount, Raina could just make out the screech of the other wyvern. Her head swiveled towards the cliff edge to see if it meant that the others killed the thing, or if it meant that the wyvern had found one of its marks. As she craned her head around trying to get the ledge into view, the beast she was holding bent its neck and made to take a chunk out of her face. Her reflexes had saved her, barely. Raina jerked her head back and the wyvern snapped its jaws inches from her nose. Its putrid breath washed over her face, and the burglar found herself trying not to retch in midflight as sticky spit stuck to her.

As she wondered how she was going to get this nasty goo off of her face, the wyvern twisted around and hit her full in the back with its tail. Liquid fire spread across the point of impact, and Raina desperately tried to hold on. Her eyes slide in and out of focus, and she started spewing forth a slew of insults towards the beast.

“You back stabbing bag of rotting bird brains! You’re nothing but a filthy lizard that some poor wretch decided to give wings! You can’t even carry your own weight, let alone mine! You belong in some terrarium with nothing but bugs to eat! Better yet, you belong sliced up and cooked in my frying pan!” Her words were helping her to remain focused on her grip. But a cold feeling was coming over her as she realized that her fellow members weren’t moving to help her. Besides, what could they do?

”I will not die at the mercy of this flying iguana,” Raina thought savagely. She raised her rapier and aimed another strike at the wyvern’s underbelly, determined to take down the beast before it managed to take her out first.

Well; I finally decided to post one of my favorite recipes here at the Inn. You’ll find me subsisting off of this a few times a month, usually when I am lurking around Dragon Chat or other various sections of the Inn. Plus, it means you’re just 5 easy minutes away from chocolately goodness!

Feel free to share recipes of typical 'inn food' here if you'd like ~ I may add more later.

Chocolate Cake in a Mug

  • 4 Tablespoons flour

  • 4 Tablespoons sugar

  • 2 Tablespoons baking cocoa

  • 1 egg

  • 4 Tablespoons milk

  • 3 Tablespoons oil

  • 3 Tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

  • splash of vanilla

Pick out a mug! Mix dry ingredients. Add egg and mix. Pour in milk and oil. Add chocolate chips and vanilla and mix. Microwave for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (usually the standard on most microwaves). Cake may rise over top of mug – its okay!
Cool. Yum!

Celeste’s Note: I usually pour Hershey’s syrup over mine for extra chocolately goodness.
