Spiff had been uncharacteristically quiet. It was upsetting to him, but he had to agree with Peacekeeper. His intent with this meeting was to go over a number of battle plans. Instead, most of the meeting had been a matter of Croaker slapping his junk out on the table. He had hoped that the nomad's arrival was symbolic of a willingness to work together. Instead, it seemed it just meant that he wanted to one-up Spiff still.

He had just relaxed at the edge of the table eating his meal. Normally someone like this would deserve no more than a bullet to the head, but Jack had asked him to play nice. He had made sure to fill up well. After all, it was all coming out of his pocket. He relaxed for a bit. No point arguing with an idiot.

He had kept up on the phone numbers as they were passed around and looked over the picture of the facility, trying to see if he could figure out where it was. After all, that information didn't come with the message. He wasn't going to let another idiot ruin his day. He sat at the table relaxing as the discussion, which had become quite useless, wound down. He'd have to catch a few of the more important people after the meeting to make sure something actually got done.

((PM me if you need a list Brom))

After a lengthy discussion with a close friend who knows sailing, I have posted a more accurate depiction of the ship you are on. Other than the lack of a crow's nest in the photo, it is almost precisely what you'll be dealing with.

Grugg and Lamewolf are in the crow's nest.

Hammer and Admiral are cooking stew.

Good post Hammer. I'm glad to see you guys are getting into this. Let's get those posts up

On the boat, the vast majority of the crew were either ignoring their jobs or taking their 15th break of the day. The captain had been at the helm with his first mate all day going over figures and maps. Normally he'd do this in his personal quarters, but the lack of enthusiasm implied a possible mutiny could happen if he disappeared for too long. It wasn't that they'd last long if they took the boat, but just that he didn't want to lose the boat, especially to a bunch of incompetent bottom-feeders.

He had assigned these two a very different task today. It's not to say that he made a point of dividing this task among the most capable, because there was no difference there. He just tended to be a bit more selective to alienate slackers when choosing those who were given it. Still, it hadn't always worked, even on this trip.

The two humans were set up in the crows' nest for the day. ((assuming, since you're players you're paranoid)) They had been doing their job rather decently throughout the day and had effectively spotted storm clouds on the horizon. That is to say, they thought they had spotted them. When they called down to the captain (which was very unnecessary considering that the distance to the captain was maybe 3 or 4 meters) he turned back, with a pricy piece of equipment in his hand. He folded it down and waved "Already saw them!" and put the spyglass into his pocket.

The job was menial and it put them most directly in the sun. They had spent quite a few hours in the sun just to spot the storm clouds. Sea life was not that pleasant.

Lamewolf, try not to take anything I say too seriously. I was waiting on Grugg's character ad your PM (which was delivered very quickly) when I sent the last post. I tend to be very blunt about things and meant no hard feelings. I'll get the intro for you two up today.

Edit: Intro up

This job is boring, as is sea life. I will allow it to be such if you two choose not to interact. I'd like to see several 'hi hello, fancy seeing you here' posts before I move on. Will update with the other two characters when they have finished their sheets.

THAT MEANS YOU Lamewolf and Grugg. Lamewolf, please update per the above post. Grugg HURRY! You're needed. Monks are great on the water!

EDIT: The image posted is the closes I could find to the ship you are on. It is a bit larger, but with a similar sail structure, and it does (believe it or not) have a crows nest...of sorts...

Topic: Under The Sea
Subject: Under The Sea

It was about midday as the crew of the My Fair Lady switched to their second task. When I say crew, one might mistake the My Fair Lady for a real ship. To clarify, the My Fair Lady was barely sea-worthy. The ship was hastily put together to make the trip south to see the islands of Sylvania. Of course, only those with seamanship would really know that. And, in this time, seamanship was a rare trade. Not because it was a difficult task, though it was, but because no one saw much need for it. There was enough to deal with on the land that few wished to increase their problems on the high seas.

When I say crew, one might confuse the My Fair Lady with having a proper crew. She did not. The captain and his first mate knew a bit of seamanship, surely, but that was it. There were a total of 40 others on this boat, mostly human. Most of them had stopped vomiting constantly by now, as it was early in the the third week of this three week journey, but they were still not much of a crew. They were assigned daily tasks to complete, and did them terribly. The 40 people aboard the My Fair Lady were all travelers. Most had heard of the riches of Sylvania and were hurrying to the islands in an attempt to get-rich-quick. None on this ship could afford the journey. They had all made a deal with the captain to do these menial tasks and get him to Sylvania safe in exchange for the ride.

The My Fair Lady rocked on the sea waters. It was a short-sailed boat. Generally such would not be considered worthy of deep-water travel, but in the mad rush to get to Sylvania any boat that could be made seaworthy was plunged into the water. The My Fair Lady was no different. Even those without seamanship would notice the occasional leak in the hull and be forced to fix it. The boards were different colors, many splintered and aged. This boat was held together by a few well placed nails.

The sun was bright over the boat, and many of its 'crew' were sunburnt or hiding in the shade, having been on this boat so long. Many had jobs above deck. Two of the shorter crew on deck, both of which would often get strange looks from the other free-loaders, were coooking dinner...or trying to. The meat that was left had already been turned to jerky and most of the flavor had faded. They were chopping it and making a stew which was flavored with...well pretty much nothing. The dwarf kept stopping the halfling and trying to use his brewing skills to make it somewhat palatable, but it wasn't going well. They both were looking at a brown and green concoction that reminded them of the vomit that covered the decking the first day the ship was on the water. Still, based on the previous meals, they were fairly sure it was edible.

Ok, I just realized this. You know you're a geek when you know this, but the dice on those shirts are wrong. 19 is always next to the 1, not the 20. I didn't even pull out my dice to see that. 20 is next to 8, 2, and something else.

The speech had ended, and the group stood in silence for a moment. The half-orc was not stealthy or subtle at all in her approach. Percifeer loved it.

A low chuckle rose in volume as Percifeer grinned. She had missed Llammoth. It had been so long since they'd seen each other, and it seemed neither of them had changed a bit. She remembered the last time her sister had yelled at her. She was even fairly certain she had reacted the same. This time, though, she refused to give up so easily. The last time, she had decided it wasn't worth the argument. This was definitely a different situation. Her chuckle lowered, but the occasional burst that she couldn't hold back came out for another few seconds.

"Sis, I agree with you. It's been a very rough day. But I don't agree that I've been holding the group back. If you recall, I even designed a plan, so we could do as much as possible today, and everyone here totally ignored that plan. Do you remember? with the counter clockwise map of the town?" She pulled out a piece of chalk and waved it at Llammoth. "I'll admit, I screwed up with the horse. I was flustered. Still, I don't think that boy was my fault. He wasn't even in the crowd. He would've had no trouble getting out of the way, and it's likely the horse would've avoided him anyway. But that's in the past now, and thanks to Beinsel, it may well stay there."

She put the chalk away and looked Llammoth in the eyes. "I would normally agree with you at this point to end the argument. But I can't do that. Ormander means too much to me to give up at this. We need to follow the good leads. Our brothers and sisters are nice, but I suspect they'll all be little more than hugs and kisses. We need to follow the real leads, the ones that will get us into the council chambers. Even if we have to dig up dirt on the Chancellor to squeeze our way past their defenses, it'll be what gets us in front of the council that matters."

She sighed, and started digging in her bag for something. "Now be honest with yourself sis, who do you think is gonna be able to get us that kind of stuff. A sibling who, at best, pays her taxes and makes a few guain on the side, or a big-name in the underworld of this city. A man who's business is most likely information, and who, for a price, will get us anything we need.

((please remember Percifeer is not thinking in terms of 6 days. No character would. It is a today-or-nothing strategy for her. And it will be the same each day in the future. ALMERIN: If we start heading towards the Heart of Darkness, Percifeer will pull out her disguise kit and start 'doing her makeup'. If anyone else needs use of it, she will happily assist.))

Sequin

Basically, she wants a decorated cloak. Something bordering on Noble level. It will stand out, rather than blend in, but it will cover her face during her visit to Virgil.

Percy has no problem with the shopping trip. Actually, after Miran's statement, she wants to buy a cloak to throw over her so she can keep her head low as the thugs there probably know her. It'll be a pretty, sequinned cloak though .

Percifeer had had quite enough of Pio's dodging. "No knight I've met calls himself that by justifying his actions. Either you show honor, or you don't. There is no grey area to it. And I hardly think it's honorable for us to have wasted an entire day walking around this town with no clear purpose, and largely ignoring all logical direction when our father's life is on the line.

"My honor is now an issue, and I hardly find honor worth the time to think of normally. I will not stand by and let you waste more time!" Her voice was raw by the end of the rant, mostly because she was screaming for the third time today. She was initially upset with the inefficiency. But the fact that they were now arguing with her when she was only trying to fix that problem, which was to everyone's advantage....well, that just made her furious.
