That's no small post Brom! 2 dead, and only a short while before the rest of us die.

Sorry, I'm still real sick, and haven't been posting much since my brief posting spree. I think I know what I want to do, I just have to get the energy to post it. I will do so probably today.

"What guarantee that sniper will not be pinched?” The fat man’s piggy eyes narrowed to a point where they were practically swallowed by his cheeks. “What guarantee you have that I work you in some way you can manage?”

Spiff's smile was unwavering, almost sadistic in nature. "It seems we're both taking a gamble then."

He left it at that. This man was smart. He wanted to see what the guy was really capable of.

“And you expect us to do something about this? And for what? No,” Kremlin chuckled. “No, Mr. Spiff. I think better question, what do you expect we do?”

Spiff smiled, taking another sip of his Vodka. He'd been cautious to only sip lightly, but to say he felt none of its effects was crazy. This was Russian vodka; the good stuff. It wasn't to say he didn't realize all eyes were on him, but it wasn't anything new that they were. He was the outsider here.

"I'm the one up for sale here. I won't put up my own price. I would prefer you tell me what you think I'm worth."

((OOC assuming he keeps stalling, 'cause he is not this stupid and Spiff knows it))

"You're a lot of fun, my man. Why don't we make a game of this? You still got those cards on ya?" Spiff smiled, waiting for the man to obtain a deck of cards.

"First, I'm betting a full day's work for you against you providing me with someone who can use this." Spiff tapped the gun lightly. "Is that a fair bet to you for the first hand of five card-" Spiff paused, cutting himself off for dramatic effect and looking around at the already on edge bodyguards, "-draw" and he smiled.

I don't know your world, but it's likely he's from somewhere cold. He's human and mundane items he absolutely has to have? Other than thieves tools, basic gear, and weapons? I guess rope is a bare necessity. He's an infiltrator type. Break into anything. Not a front-line soldier. He's built to get in while the enemy is sleeping and not have to deal with a fight. Perhaps that will help with mundane item ideas. I'd have to think about that for a bit, honestly.

Subject: just realized this guy sounds a bit like Percifeer...he's similar, but not the same

Character Name:
Shiften <---constantly goes by different names, prefers to be unknown

Three word disposition description:
Quiet, Efficient, Impatient

Feelings about people:
People are necessary to any task, but far too many waste time with politics. He prefers to just get it done.

Values most:
Efficiency. Anyone who gets things done is quickly accepted as a friend and ally.

Person valued most:
He once had a mentor who taught him to value himself most....so he values the mentor most...yeah it's like that

most valued possession:
his hands to be honest. Without them, no locks are picked, no weapons are used, and overall he's useless

general philosophy/alignment:
Chaotic Good. Help others, even when they don't want you to. Get it done, when the politicians are still asking if it "should" be done.

Quilia knew her place. She was a gunner, not a money-maker. It would be crazy for her to go looking for work. She'd attract a good bit of attention as a merc.

Still, she was decent at repairs and could be used around here. She dug around, surely this hovel had a working terminal. She hopped on the net and invited Lelain to help.

"This is gonna be the easiest place to find work. I can either stay and help speed up repairs, or head out with you for work. You make the call."

“Is that so, Mr. Spiff?” Kremlin chuckled and took another sip of his vodka. “And what does job entail? Hmm? How can your new family help you?”

Spiff smiled. The sound of the man's voice meant more than the words he was saying. The fact was, Spiff was about to gain as much as this man could get out of him in over a year of hard labor.

"It's no small task. I wouldn't offer myself for sale for any less though." As he spoke, he watched the man's reactions carefully, shifting each line, each word carefully around his reactions. ((my way of saying, will change if he sees it going bad as he talks))

"Like everyone in this day and age, a megacorp wants me dead." He paused sipping at the vodka. "I was tasked to pick up the slack of some edgerunner panzies who couldn't do a job." He knew this would hit a nerve one way or the other, and continued very cautiously. "Unfortunately, the job they were doing was bogus. Pretty standard cover up to be honest. The megacorp wanted to get someone off the street, so they hired edgerunners to do it, and planned to off them on delivery." He sat back, using his glass of vodka to mask his expression. "They decided to bail on delivery, and now we have to hit the megacorp, hard." This was the kicker and he knew it would get a reaction. "The task is simple, get the info on what they were covering up, expose them, and take them down." It was up to Kremlin now, whether Spiff was really worth that price.

Topic: You Filthy Little Thief!!!
Subject: Ocyari's in trouble?

It had been a long day for Percifeer. Too much emotion exhausts a person. This is often the reason a sorceress must sleep at least as much as the wizard next to her. On top of the spell casting and stupidity, she had seen her brothers and sisters fall today. It was just too much and she only wanted to go home. Tonight, her home was the orphanage.

Naturally, the trip did not go without incident...

“Don’t struggle, princess. Let me get a closer look on that neck of yours.” There was a man who had grabbed Ocyari, with fangs obvious in his mouth.

If they had grabbed another member of the group, Percifeer would have sighed and kept walking. They hadn't. They had made for the child, whom she was determined to protect. She wasn't having it.

She paid no attention to the man that was coming from the other direction. Either she had bigger things to worry about, or she just hadn't noticed him. Still, she started an incantation, looking at the space just behind the man's head.

"Do you like birds, boys?" ((Summon Monster II - Celestial Eagle behind the vampire's head))

"We are the Russia, and we are offering you a home, Mr. Spiff, not a job.”

Spiff paused, it was brief, and it was only a pause, but it was an indication that he was caught off guard. It would have been a jaw drop, glass on the floor type situation for anyone not as talented as Spiff at keeping his cool, but it was definitely enough to indicate surprise to the observant.

He set down his glass, and leaned back in his seat. "You're offering me all this?" he looked around at the luxury that Kremlin had indicated previously.

((assuming a yes, even if not really, I figure a mafia guy will say yes to get a new hire))

He rubbed his chin, it held a five-o-clock shadow at the moment, which immediately got him to stop. He wasn't even in his best threads or trying and somebody was offering him a home. It made him wonder, if only briefly, how much more he could get if he tried. The thought faded quickly as he knew how difficult that sort of thing would be. It hadn't really occurred to him until now to do something of that nature.

He hadn't wanted to be in Jack's organization because he didn't want to be a rival to someone he respected so much. He hadn't been offered entry into other organizations, like Becky. He and she had done a lot together with Net54 just two years ago. It was a lot to swallow. The worst part was, he was pretty sure his answer had just been given to him. He had a few options. He could sleep on it, and decide in the morning. He could agree, and try to enlist the Russian Mafia's help with Biotechnica. Or he could tell them he'd sleep on it, and be on the run from the Ruskies the rest of his life. He was fairly certain no was not an answer anymore.

He inhaled deeply, the cigar smoke choking him a bit as he thought. He sorted through the options. No was out, unless he was quicker with his gun than he knew himself to be. Sleeping on it falsely was probably expected and had been seen before by someone so quick-witted and capable of keeping his guards on edge. This also meant that sleeping on it for real could likely land him in an interrogation facility. The only answer left was yes, and he wasn't displeased with the decision.

"Here's the truth of the matter. I'm in the middle of a job. I could use some competent help with it, and I think that it will be worth putting myself up for sale in exchange. I'll accept your generous offer Mister Kremlin, but if I don't succeed in my current task, there won't be anything left of me to put to work."

"Make it quick!"

Quilia jumped out, determined to leave a mark on this place. It was a cesspit, and with any luck, her little bit of knowledge could make this company look they way it treats people.

She rushed up to the keypad on the way out, and plugged in some numbers. 7-1-3. She pressed the buttons, smiling and rushed back to the shuttle. She had no clue what it would do, but she was sure that, if nothing else, they'd know she had held a part in this.

Subject: dwarven fighters = teh r0x0r

Successful or not, deadly or not, the dwarf would have been fascinating to watch. His strategy was simple with these boys. The three boys charged at him, threatening his life, but he stood, unwavering as they came in. When the first boy got to him, his shield shifted to catch the boy's body, and a burst of strength came out of him in an attempt to launch the boy backward.

The other two boys were not received so generously. They each got a swat with his morningstar. Whether or not he succeeded in any of this, it was fascinating to watch three boys bouncing around swatting at the dwarf while he stood there, barely a step between his strikes, and often no movement at all. It was like watching a group of peasants leap onto a cart in the hopes of stopping it from rolling downhill. It was quite clear the boys could stand 3 high on his shoulders and the dwarf might not even notice them.

Quilia started sorting through the armaments and was quite delighted. The only thing upsetting her was that the droid decided it was more important to leave than to stock up on ammunition.

"Alright, fine!" Her voice was gruff. She set herself up in the gunner seat and shouted back to the others. "Let's stop at the door panel on the way out. I've got a surprise for these boys."

Subject: Percifeer kicks back

Percifeer thought to follow for a moment. In fact, it was enough of a thought that she began to stand right behind him. It was amid this attempt to stand that she realized it was unnecessary. Pao had changed since the orphanage. He was as quick-tempered and aggressive in this investigation as she. A smile curled across her lips as she fell back into her chair, apparently incapable of completing the standing maneuver.

She laughed, falling over on Miran. "Sing another one! More upbeat! The drinks are flowing like water!" She smacked Paomallen on the back as he started to leave with a couple of others. It may not be interpreted properly, but it was her way of saying go for it!

It was going to be a long night for sure, and she couldn't keep up this false drunkenness in front of a crime lord. She'd find herself of better use here, playing the drunken backup. She remained the last resort exit strategy.
