Topic: New 3.5 Character Sheet
Subject: Thanks!

I'd be honored that you'd even link to it. Linking would be better because it will stay up to date as I modify the sheet. At the moment I plan to add a bit more functionality and a dice roller. Other ideas I'm leaving to the innmates.

I'm working on the skills. They are the only alignment issue I have found. From the sounds of it, you found the same thing. This is good news to me. Thanks for the heads up.

Subject: New 3.5 Character Sheet

When it comes to character sheets, everyone has their own way of doing it.

Some like paper because it's easy to follow and attractive to look at.

Some like excel sheets because they auto-fill.

In the case of me and my friends, we use the adobe auto-fill sheets, giving us the best of both worlds.

In every case, however, there is a down-side. The last product being the best of most worlds, with the down-side of resource hogging and requiring adobe professional, a very expensive program.

I used them for a bit and thought "hey, I'm a coder, why don't I try to make something worthwhile." I've built excel sheets in the past, but they're so hard to read compared to a neat paper sheet.

So I built this. Tell me what you think.

If you have trouble with the zip, just go to my website.

((side note: this sheet is modifiable and still in "beta-test" stage so please give me any feedback *bad feedback is better than good* PLEASE))

Subject: test of strength?

Beau watched the display curiously, trying to figure out what he was going to do with his cart until the caravan arrived. He thought about adding input, but he didn't want to interject knowing only what he did. He might enjoy the show though, if these two decided to have a contest. Still, he was going to have a long journey ahead of him, and one or both of these two might prove useful. Ah, screw it. he thought and decided to speak anyway.

"If it's a test of strength you wish, I have an idea." It wasn't exactly Beau's place to speak, but he was tired of fitting into this town.

**assuming there is interest**

"We'll need a rope and we should probably go outside."

**assuming that is done**

Beau hands each of them one end of the rope and draws a line in the road. "The first one across this line, loses. The goal is to pull the other person across it. If you let go of the rope you lose." Beau lifted his hand in the air, checking to make sure the line was centered between them and brought it down swiftly. "Begin!"

((YOU STILL DON'T KNOW HIS NAME. HE WENT BY SMITH! GET COCKY ABOUT YOUR GRAMMAR ALL YOU WANT, YOU STILL NEED TO RP RIGHT))

Beau agreed with the idea of heading out, but now that he knew a little more about the battlefield he was tempted to head direct. Still, he had already found a possible warrior, and maybe someone else of use. Better to go the long way and deal with them for a bit than to ditch them and end up SOL on the battlefield.

"I'd like to go back by the Inn first if that's ok."

Beau looked around at the people and shook his head at Dron, sticking the book in his pack and strapping the belt around his shoulder.

"I don't know if there is such a place around here. Perhaps another time? After both of us are well paid by this new employment?"

Beau was bombarded by questions, to which he responded with a sleight eyebrow twitch. The old wizard was clearly avoiding his questions. Fair enough. He'd proved himself useful enough. Beau could give him a little more information about himself.

Beau smiled and reached to his chest, flipping a buckle under his shirt, much like the clasp on a bra. He quickly reached behind himself and underneath his cloak just under his pack. He pulled something out as it fell from his shirt and pulled out a book and a belt that must've been used to to hold it in place.

"Care to trade spells?" He smiled as he held the book out to show Dron.

Beau nods at Dron. "That makes sense. You don't want to give more power to someone you don't trust. Still, I wonder how such a trade would work. Care to enlighten me?"

"That's neat. So you have lots of spells in your books but just your battle spells in your traveling books?"

The two eventually arrived at the general store. Beau waited out front with the cart while Dron made his purchases. When he came back out, Beau had more questions.

"Do you wizard types trade and stuff to get more spells?"

Beau totes the cart with Dron's help to the general store, smiling the whole way like a boy in a candy store. Well, I guess the situation isn't far off.

"You didn't answer. So you don't use a book for your spells?"

you have to pick spells every day, but you get to pick those from the entire PHB list of cleric spells, plus 1 domain spell per level from one of your two domains (of the same level)

The number of spells you get each day are listed according to your class level.

5 0th level
3 1st level + 1 1st level for your wisdom bonus +1 1st level domain spell
2 2nd level + 1 2nd level for your wisdom bonus +1 2nd level domain spell

Subject: Fighter? sure!

((He went by Smith, but alright))

Beau pondered the thought as he reached the cartwright. "I guess you could call me a fighter." When he spoke he tapped the crossbow at his side. "I can take down a warrior or two on the field." He then pondered for a moment. "You're not the kind that carries all those books around are you?"

**regardless of the answer**

He entered the cartwright and bought a cart. He then realized he had a new issue. "Dron, can you help me with this? If we each carry one rail it shouldn't be too bad."

**if he's ok with helping**

They headed out of the cartwright and Beau said "Ok, where did you need to go?"

Beau headed out from the inn and straight to a cartwright. He had tasks to complete, but in the mean time, he made small conversation with the person following.

"So, Dron. You're a caster is it?"

Beau paused on his way out the door and turned back when he was called. He shrugged and nodded at Dron.

"Sure Dron, just don't slow me down or I'll leave you behind."

He stepped out the door and started on his way.

Subject: Finding warriors

Beau had quite a bit to think about, but mostly he was just trying to find the best way to find warriors. The truth was, he may have found....one so far? Still, there were warriors out there, and heading to a battlefield would be useful in and of itself.

Beau nodded to the man. "I need to get a few things. Where should we meet you to prepare to head out?"

Beau left the inn after getting his answer and went looking for a local shop.

we went from 6 to three in the first week????

PnP gaming is always hard to keep a group going. Can we still run the game with three if we are unsuccessful in recruiting replacements?

"Or, it would have these engravings. As for being natural, it is using the natural materials from the earth is a respectful way. That is the proper use of nature. And it does give me protection, so that I may serve it better."

Beau smiled looking at the ring. "See that's my kind of nature lover. Nice to meet you Eleak."

"Calling me a liar eh boy? I suppose you know all about that, don't you? I'm no liar, and my promise is to make sure that nature in all it's glory is treated with respect, something other people seem to be sorely lacking. Those monsters being one of those kinds of people. Which is why I'll be killing them."

Beau nodded in respect to the changeling. "That ring has nothing to do with nature. If it did, it'd be made of wood or something." He muttered very quietly to himself "faint abjuration." and followed it with "a ring of protection is magical, not exactly natural."

"You know what kid? You're pretty observant. This ring is a promise. A promise to nature. One I'll be keeping. So you two are signing up for this too eh? What's your reason?"

"I'm not a mercenary but I am a blade for hire, I normally guide people around Sharn but if my nation needs my help in it's defence then I have to answer it. Were the gateway to the East, if Breland falls then the rest of Khorvaire is at risk." The man gulped a beer and then spoke again. "I'm Damocles Dlilith by the way, ex-Sharn City Guard at your service. Can I have your names please?"

Beau stood up from his chair at the introduction. "I'm Smith," and he extended a hand for Damocles'. "But you're lying." he said briefly to the changeling, immediately changing the topic, "Still, I want to know the promise was if you don't mind."

He waited for an answer and then answered the question asked. "And I'm just one of those adventurers you hear so much about. I'm looking for some warriors and I figure a battlefield is the best place to find them."

"You! Kid, I'd be worrying more about growing pains and awkwardness before you should worry about baubles. What do you think this ring means?"

He smiled, knowing the man ineffectively covering his armor would want to speak more on his race.

"I think I prefer the orange hair but the brown skin" Beau giggled at the comment."But don't threaten the kid though."

His smile dropped at the last comment. First he spoke to the man in armor. "An ally in battle is not someone you need to protect."

He then turned to the changeling who looked something like a halloween candy...wait, what's halloween? "And I can tell you that ring is more than a symbol of status." He shrugged and leaned back in his chair, drinking the last of his milk.

"Hey. Why are you looking at me funnily. You don't think I'm just as fit to be here as you?"

"What species are you?"

Beau giggled behind his glass and reached out to touch the man's hand, one finger tapping just above a ring he was wearing. "I'm just surprised you're not doing more to cover that."

"I certainly wasn't brave enough to fight when I was your age, lets hope the battle doesn't see either of us in the ground"

Beau nodded respectfully to the man. "Thank you for treating me like a comrade instead of a street urchin." he then sat down and went back to drinking his milk, adjusting his glasses slightly.

"It would hardly honorable to fight with someone so young, but if your sure then I'm not going to stop you coming."

Beau put his drink on the table and stood up. He was of decent height, even at 14.

"Treat me like a child if you must, but do not disrespect me by saying I'm useless on a battlefield." With that he reached out and flicked the man's shirt, the mithril underneath ringing slightly at the nudge. "I am smarter than I look."
