Percifeer was livid. If the man she was speaking to hadn't been her brother, she might have already killed him. There was no time for nonsense. Without her current state, she still would've seen the need to say such things, just to get something moving again. It had seemed like the entire day was spent just standing around.

Then Pio spoke. He said a lot of things, but one thing really rang out in Percifeer's mind. She held it, and waited, brooding over how to say it most viciously. Her anger boiled to her chest as she found herself breathing sharp and quick.

"I have never heard of honor before that would convince me to leave my sister to be lynched while I hide amongst the crowd. If I had, I don't think I'd want any part of it. Oh, and since you're famous now brother, I think you're going to stand out even more going into the shadier side of town at night. If we get there before nightfall we'll be safer and have a better chance of speaking to him." She was speaking to Pio. Sure, he wasn't as famous as Beinsel, but the point was there, and she had made it. If he had been any other man, Percifeer would have already struck him down. She was being generous, and she was furious even more that he couldn't see it.

The creature had caught Jiminous off guard. He had fully expected the temple to have protections against undead creatures. It was very much a surprise to him that this one had snuck in. Heck, it was for this reason that he hadn't animated the corpse of the priest on the ground next to them to begin with.

Still, all it takes is one mistake to kill a man. Jiminous had made two. First, he had made the mistake of not knowing, and then he had made the mistake of prodding. He was the biggest threat to the creature in the room. He had made this obvious in his attempt to stop his future allies from being harmed. It had backfired.

The creature held one long dark, blade in each hand. Two massive claws that were tearing through Jiminous's chain shirt as if it wasn't even there. He could feel his heartbeat pounding against his chest mostly because there was so little chest left between the claws and the heart. Weakness... he thought, his thoughts slowing, the blood leaving his extremities.

He had never feared death. In fact, he had planned out his meeting with the creature. He wanted to argue with him over the use of a scythe "Why do you want to harvest crops? I'm here to kill people!" But, he had hoped his death would come with more glory, not at the hands of his own in a temple to a god he despised.

It was an unfortunate situation. Still, it wasn't as though this man didn't have a god that he clung to. He was rather attached to Corgerus. The one that called himself the Reaper was quite appropriate. He had rather liked the skull symbol too. If it hadn't been for spell requirements, he would never have animated a corpse with the skull still on. It was quite appropriate to behead them with his axe, and leave the skull in honor of Corgerus.

That was all he knew of Corgerus, but he thought it enough. He didn't breathe as the last stroke of those dark claws cut through his soft heart. Weakness... He didn't need to anymore. It was as though he had achieved lichdom. He was able to stand up, and look down at himself as he fell, his back against the wall, his eyes wide with surprise at the creature the beast had been. He was calm now, and the pain, though he enjoyed it for what it was, was fading.

A bony hand touched his shoulder and he turned quickly, prepared to fight. It was Corgerus, standing there beckoning him. The god carried a greatsword. How peculiar...

Percifeer was looking around at her brothers and sisters confused during most of the trip away from the courthouse, and was even more disturbed to see that, when they arrived at the barracks, they didn't even go inside. They wanted to go eat and ignore their duties. Sure, she had to agree Dorothy was there, but Dorothy likely knew no more than anyone else.

"Have you all forgotten why we're here?" She said, her chest burning, her eyes wide with anger. "Or is it just that you'd like to see Ormander arrested or worse?" She pointed south, rather than north as everyone was prepared to go. "If you recall, our best lead so far was a thug in the Heart of Darkness. Given his field of employment, I think we should try and get information from him before he ends up dead or in prison. You'll all be fine without a meal for the moment. We have priorities here."

She had to be honest with herself. Even Llamoth's choice didn't surprise her here. That didn't mean, however, that she was happy with the situation. It was as if her whole family didn't care a bit whether the Orphanage stood or fell. Moreover, it was as if they didn't care whether or not she had places to be, and she certainly did!

The SE mountains (Icerim mountains) contain dragons. The NW mountains do not...that you know of

Ipher was a dragon that another character built into his background.

There is no need to head to tershland, just to head to Sylvania, as previously described.

I never argued with anything you did Al. I do, however, think that Percifeer would not agree with leaving the courthouse. Heck, she specifically argued with jumping about like this. She wanted to follow a circle pattern to cover as much ground as efficiently as possible. Everyone then tossed her plan out the window, even after agreeing with it. I am having trouble seeing how she would work with the group. She wants to protect her family, but her family is doing more damage than good at the moment to that prospect.

I set Percifeer as a side-character at this point because I am being forced into that position. Even when I get extreme with the character and 'kill' someone to attract some attention and get information, my actions are ignored almost entirely, even by the guards themselves.

I am not trying to complain so much as I'm confused. I have posted several times that I would like to stay at one place long enough to find something out, and then the party ends up not staying there. We have, at this point, wasted the entire first day of this 6 day adventure. I just know that my character would not put up with that kind of inefficiency.

In other words, my character is probably going to break from the party for a bit. Is there any particular way you'd like me to do that Almerin?

The Hammer clan, as your describing it is not the Hammer clan on my world. I named it at your request, I am not changing my world's background to accomidate this elaborate and highly unusual background you have requested.

Sorry, but the short answer is: NO.

Hammer is a relatively new clan (world situations demand it) and cannot have been involved with the elves previously. There is (easily) a way for you to design a background that is appropriate, but I cannot do it for you.

As I said before, this new campaign is going to be VERY hard on new players. The old campaign could have been done by anyone, but this one will create more difficult situations (and therefore more party loyalty and attachment). I do not mind having a newer player in this game, but I do not recommend pushing yourself to play something too exotic early on, as it will be hard enough for an easy class to survive this adventure.

MAP

I have updated the map due to the adventure and new character decision by Hammer. Hammer, I'm going to allow you to name a clan in my world after yourself, only because I'm a nice guy like that.

Here's a bit of background:
It's an exciting time for most of the world (at least, those who communicate think so, though much of the world still doesn't interact). There has been a messenger sent from the southern islands of Sylvania. The elves are, for the first time in hundreds of years, opening up trade to the rest of the world. They boast the strongest blades, the finest arrows, and impressive magic items that have never before been seen. The entire world is headed south...and so are you.

The party will be headed to the elven islands of Sylvania (They are depicted on the map as ovals as no scholars have even been permitted in to properly map them). This storyline, unfortunately, means that it will be VERY difficult to play an elf in this campaign. Any elves not on the islands are outcast from elven society, and justifying your return will be difficult. Half-elves, are not in quite as rough of shape, but will be treated VERY harshly by almost EVERY NPC in this game, so don't think the DM is picking on you.

LOCATIONS:
Tershland is the largest population center on this side of the continent. It is the most likely place for most types of people to exist.

The NW mountain chain is where our dwarf friend MUST be from, as your clan has largely kept to itself up there in the Blister Mountains (named by the Hammer clan as such). They have been seen and interacted with in normal society, but dwarves are still a RARITY by all standards. Still, given the setting, it's more than reasonable that you would seek out society to travel with to the south. I'm going to need a HELL of a background to justify a wizard btw.

Orcs are NOT accepted by normal society and are killed on site. Half-Orcs can be accepted (with time and patience on the part of the half-orc) but (obviously) barbarians will be right out, as they act just like their orcish cousins. It's not that I don't like that class, but just that's how the world has been built (what's disturbing is how much of it was designed by those who adventured in it).

Special note on casters. As I said before, casters are accepted in this part of the world, but are slaughtered on site (if they can) most other places. Most casters may want to keep their abilities under wraps just in case. Still, I do recommend at least one caster in this party, given the campaign ahead.

Jiminous waited for the others to complete their actions before taking his. He had only one chance to succeed before this thing surely would strike him down.

"Sssssinssskssss Sssoft KneessssssSsss"

It was a sad effort to be sure, but with a little luck, the battle could be over.

((assuming it works))

"He's under my control now, stop attacking him or he'll no longer be under it. Perhaps we can find out who sent him."

((assuming it doesn't work))

Jiminous grasped his halberd protectively, praying he could last just a bit longer.

Sorry Guys, I had the busiest semester of my life and had to drop this game. This week is finals week, which means I'm back in the game. Let's see who's still here, who wants to join, and who needs to be replaced. I've gotten some pointers on DM-ing play-by-posts, so we should be able to get this rolling in a reasonable manner.

On that note, who is in???

Jiminous found this man cute. He was like a bunny rabbit, thrashing against the noose that the hunter had built into a trap for it. The man was hardly capable of an action that Jiminous hadn't forseen. All that was left was to ensure the man didn't get out alive. After all, the man had walked in here asking to become part of Jiminous' army of undead creatures. He would make a fine addition. The only matter to settle, was his death.

((assuming less than 5 hp damage and a ranged attack or no movement at all, all other actions were explained, pm me if you forget them))

Jiminous gripped his axe, preparing a defensive position against the attack he knew was coming. The man was glaring at him after all. Still, the next spell used only verbal components. "Sizzzle inSssside Sissstic optixssssssssss" With any luck, the man would be blinded and incapable of further attacks.
