by the way, I was trying to point out that I wasn't taking things to seriously with an , but the smiley face covered that up, so just so ya know, I'm shrugging it off 'cause this has been one tough mission and I'm glad to see we've gotten as far as we have.

I swear! If Spiff heard you say that he would slap you silly. You ain't no talkler. Your "bluff check" sucked! You need to pay attention to your faceman. He may not be the best thing that could happen to you, but he has his uses! , nice to see that the constant failures you'd seen so far haven't ended so abruptly.

DUDE!!! No Friggin way! I saw that really long post and thought "oh crap, I started a firefight" but no, I rock! I <3 Brom!!! I am so friggin pumped about my success. However, based on the times I'm seeing, it appears that my group is WAY ahead (in terms of time) of every other player. Unless you think I should post, I'm gonna let everyone else catch up to the time that I am at.

Spiff paused, a drop of acidic water rolling down his cheek. He raised his right eyebrow as he turned to the gangbanger. He had to be honest with himself that such a flashy entrance was a terrible idea to begin with, but what choice did he have. His mind grazed over the possible approaches to this situation and Spiff grinned at Mr. Bald and Pierced as he settled on a decision, his sunglasses reflecting the gangers gun.

"You're right, chico, but I can tell you what he's gonna say. He's gonna want to meet the man who just set him up for the gangers that are probably not far behind us. Then he's gonna yell at you for leaving your post because there will probably already be gunfire. Think about it, hombre, he's gonna send you right back here to make sure that we don't have any info he needs. In other words, chico, why the FRACK do you think I came down here? I don't want to get shot! I ain't no fighter!" Spiff thought about mentioning that the three of them were still armed to the hilt and the ganger would certainly get his ass handed to him for not disarming them, but there was no way to use that bit of information to his advantage...yet.

Subject: Quick question

Hey, Brom, quick question. Would it be too out of character for Spiff to smile and wait as asked? I mean, if he doesn't, there's no chance Croaker will be of any help at all. But he wouldn't know that, but he might guess it? I dunno, tbh, I think Spiff's reaction is going to be more along the lines of "Wait! You forgot to search me first!" and end up losing all of his weapons...

Are you seriously asking if I'm still here? I've been checking the main thread every day for posts and DYING for a response.....I hate you guys!!!!! Ok, I don't, but it certainly looks like asking for Stallion was pushing things a touch to far on Spiff's end. Fudged up the roll I imagine. Ah well, JIHAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!! or something like that.

Subject: Where is Stallion? hmm.....

Mr. Bald and Pierced blinked and frowned a bit. “Stallion’s waitin’ on you three? He never told me.”

Spiff glanced about himself as the hall filled with Wild Things, glad that his glasses hid his eyes. "Ah..." He turned back to Mr. Bald and Pierced, lowering his glasses from his eyes. "So you are prepared." He readjusted his glasses and resumed his whimsical demeanor. "No, he's not waitin' on us. You haven't been kept out of the loop, buddy. It's a surprise. And don't tell him yet, I want to see if Ol' Stallion's on top of his game." He grinned wider and turned back to head deeper into the Hole. He raised his hand as he left in a half-wave. "It's alright if you don't know where he is, gato. I'll find him." And he started to step through the door at the end of the hall.

(Player's Note: Is there a door? That wasn't in the room description that I recall.)

Subject: Welcome to the Hole

[This is posted in collaboration with Brom. Some of it is his words.]

"Hey!" Spiff smiled widely, stepping into the gangster's gun and spreading his arms out. As much as he could without making it noticeable, he tried to shift the gun sideways against his chest (without his arms, obviously) as he embraced the gang member.

"What's up man!" Spiff held him for a moment before letting go and started without hesitation. "I'm not your so-called danger. I'm your savior buddy. I was the one who tipped off Elizabeth." He smiled, motioning to the two behind him to move up next to him as he took a step to the side, trying to slip around the first gangster.

"You guys look like you did pretty nice preparing, but I didn't think it was all that smart letting those other guys leave. You need more cover on Queen Mary than that." He smiled, looking back at the two behind him.

The grin and bear hug delivered, Spiff felt the ganger tense up and then relax. Whether it was the statement that he was the one who'd tipped Elizabeth off, or the fixer's friendly demeanor, Spiff couldn't tell, but Mr. Bald and Pierced let his weapon slide to the side and took a step back allowing Spiff and his compatriots entrance into the Hole.

"You the gato that fed Elizabeth the data, huh?" The man glanced at Firewind and then took a good, long look at Peacekeeper, a slow smile spreading across his thick lips. "Brought some party favors, neh?"

"Party favors?" Spiff turned back to the gang banger, smiling and raised his left eyebrow quickly. "I suppose you could call them that." He chuckled and stepped past the first ganger guiding Peacekeeper and Firewind through the other two.

"Hey," He stopped, turning back to the first guard. "Where's Stallion? I wanted to introduce him to these two." He looked at the Peacekeeper briefly and then back at the gangster who had stared at her heavily. "Don't underestimate her, gato. She's more deadly than sexy. And him," Spiff pointed at Firewind, smiling still more. "He'll put your whole face back together if it gets blown off."

Looking back at the twins, he stifled a chuckle. "I figured you guys would appreciate the extra hand."

Subject: Short and sweet...

He knew that Croaker was setting up for him at the hole, but he also knew, based on the reaction of those inside the hole to his phone call, that they had taken more than one location to defend it. Croaker's task, at this point, was only a prayer of help to the three of them. He'd have to approach as if Croaker had not been able to do anything, because Spiff knew that that might be precisely the case. As he took his last steps in this encounter, and possibly in his life... No, don't think like that. You have to keep a cool head if you want to get out of this alive. Think. He glanced up at the buildings around him, and the streets that passed by, using the little tiny bit of enhancement he had. He had to come up with a plan. He needed Peacekeeper and Firewind's help.

"Alright, gatos. Peacekeeper, you're the guns here. You're my only back-up plan if things get rough, and you can believe me I'll make damn sure you can help when they do." He glanced back at her, nonchalantly, "I need you to keep an eye out for snipers and unusual passers-by on the way. Anything that strikes you as even the slightest bit odd, bring it up immediately because it might save our lives. You don't need to be defending us right now, but we need to know who's where in case they turn threatening. If we start to get to the front entrance and we see two sniper rifles aimed in our direction, we know there's probably four and we need to make sure they're not going to open fire before we get to state our case." He spun his head to Firewind. "And you, Firewind. You're the observant one, and you look like," Spiff eyed him over again, "you're also only here in case things turn raw. I'm hoping they don't, but I need you watching out for unusual activity as well. I mean, if either of you see as much as a dumpster sliding in the rain water, I want the whole group to know it, and fast." He looked back at the long walk ahead. "If we want to get out of this alive, we can't afford any stupid mistakes because somebody wanted to keep quiet. I can probably get us past the first layer or two of guards, but even if I do, we have to come back out past them with a bird in our arms, and I can hardly hope that will be warmly welcomed."

He stepped steadily, breathing as calmly as he could, trying to maintain his casual demeanor for the other two. If this was the way back into politics, and Spiff knew it was, after all, this is how politicians act too, he'd pursue it to the end and back. He tried to take particular note of any objects that jutted out of adjacent buildings and, as he approached it, the hole itself. Even a fire escape, at this point, could provide a bit of extra help. Also, he checked cars passing them on the road. He glanced for anything obviously unusual about them. He got the distinct impression that the cars would come in handy later, if for nothing more than cover from the expected snipers.

I'm finally back into the swing of things. Let me know if you want me to post before you do. I can, but it won't be anything meaningful to the game, more or less character background that won't matter until /much/ later. That's pretty much all I have to post at this point, 'cause he's just gonna keep doing what he was. I like this Spiff guy, but I'd shoot him myself if I ever had to deal with him, lol.

Subject: die roller

I've been messing around a bit with the die roller and I wanted to provide a suggestion. I know that in a lot of my gaming when rolling stats we reroll ones. A reroll feature on the site would be useful. Maybe it could be set before hand to reroll any time a particular number comes up? Or maybe you could click on the numbers when they come up and it will auto-reroll just that die? I don't know how you all set it up to begin with, but it looks like it could (in theory, programing never is what it seems) relatively simple to program something like that.

The reason for the reroll is not laziness, but primarily because when you set another roll on the roller the previous numbers disappear which essentially defeats the purpose of doing it on the site and makes it more timely to pull out my own dice. Anywho, it's just a suggestion, I'm sure I won't be heartbroken if its never implemented.

Thanks,
Sui

Spiff sighed. This Croaker gato was missinterpretting everything this evening. "I never said I couldn't lie. I said I'm gonna do it right. Most runners like you don't even know what a real lie is all about. I have to spew a crapload of truth to squeeze out a little lie that goes truly unnoticed." He smiled, putting his hands together and drying them off. "Also, I never said I wasn't in. I said I want my man backing me up. I'm still pissed I had to ditch Roller when we didn't even leave the locale as it is. In any case, thanks for the extra info. Knowing about the mohawk will be very useful. Let's get moving; Queen Mary ain't gonna capture herself." Spiff opened the back door of the van and stepped out, dusting his jacket off, not that it mattered in the rain. It was getting late and he needed to go pay Elizabeth a visit to repay her kindness. He wondered if he could drag any of the rest of the group with him for that task. At the very least, he could use that Firewind fellow.

"Ok, look. If we're going to walk up to the Wild Things' hideout and lie, we'd better do it right. It ain't gonna be easy justifying 3 bodyguards, or even two. Moreover, I can't guarantee that you will be permitted to enter with me. We need to approach cautiously and watch for any exterior guards before we walk up to the door and start blasting if they don't let us in. Basically, where I'm going with this is where the hell are you all gonna be to back us up?" He sighed, glancing out the back door as he prepared to move, replacing his sidearm to his belt.

"This may not work one bit. If it doesn't, you all will do better to slaughter these boys and girls wholesale. We have two ways to get Queen Mary out unscathed. Either we knock her out when she's not expecting it, or we scare her into submission. Gang bangers are naturally the scared type. If we slaughter all of her protection, she'll likely be praying to remain unharmed." He didn't like arguing with Croaker, but it seemed like the whole plan hinged on Spiff's lying skills.

"Look, if I'm going to lie, I'm going to do it right. He stared at Peacekeeper for a moment before glancing at Firewind again. I appreciate you sending me in with the best of your group here, but I can't say that I trust them after the warm welcome you gave us."

He put his left hand on shoulder and pointed toward The Hole. "I want my man watching my back from outside The Hole. When we go in, I'll do everything I can to get us all in without a hassle, but expect anything, because the best lie I can give them is the most plausable. In other words, I'm going to be screaming at them for not knowing I was coming within a few seconds. Odds are the big guy is up there with his unit, so be prepared for him to come for us quick." He glanced again at the floor, frustrated with all the talking he had to do just to keep these hyperactive nutcases from pulling guns too soon.

"That's all I've got to say peeps. So whadoya say Croaker?"

I doubt we can justify 3 people delivering a package unless its size justifies it. Now, mind you, we are in a delivery van, so we could rummage about and find a pen or marker along with a package and tape. With a little forgery, Spiff could whip us up a purty little Wild Things package. In the package we would have to put the extra firepower and, if large enough, one of you 'cause frankly Spiff and Firewind won't last long in a gunfight by themselves. Whacha think?

It's tuesday and I haven't recieved anything of your idea. I have tomorrow off, but this is the only free moment I have today, so I can catch up on the info tomorrow and respond in kind. My idea, btw, was to forge (I have some skill in forgery) the gang symbol and deliver a letter to MD personally. If nothing else, it could get one of us inside with a gun on him. I just need some paper and a pen. So anyhow, let's go kick some commie butt!

Spiff smiled, pulling off his sunglasses to clean them on his shirt while staring Croaker in the eyes. "So you do have a media on your tail!" He grinned, carefully putting the glasses back on. "Well, the kinda heat we're dealing with will tear him to pieces in no time if he's about. I don't even imagine the kind of protection he could afford would hold up for that long against the Wild Things' main hideout. I wonder if there's an easier way in..."

Spiff trailed off, his thoughts wandering. He wondered if he could use the info he gave Elizabeth to his advantage in getting in to meet this Queen Mary. He paused, wide-eyed behind his glasses and grinned. "Hey, we got any paper about? And a pen, I need a pen." A plan was reeling in his mind as well. At the very least, he could make things easier for Croaker to go in blasting.
