Sorgoth took stock of his purchases, to be sure he was satisfied that he was well supplied, and to an extent, he was.
His only lament was that he couldn't buy more poison. Drow were rarely seen as the fire of their kind had all but been extinguished. The Valshari were a descendant offshoot of the Drow. It wasn't easy to get the permit to carry and use poison, but with the Valshari penchant for smooth talking and persuasiveness, Sorgoth pulled it off and now has a vial of Drow poison, legally carried, for the coating of caltrops.
He made sure he had a few other adventuring staples, a few odds and ends, like antitoxin for instance, just in case of a poison mishap.
Once he was supplied and ready, he made his way to just outside the border wall to wait for the others. As he waited, he poured the Drow poison into one of the specially lined bags of caltrops, that way, as he traveled, the caltrops would move and jostle about in the bag and each one would be coated in the toxic liquid. Seeing how little he needed to buy he was the first to make it to the rendezvous point. Knowing he is just barely outside the protection of the city, he draws his sword and waits on his friends.

He laid somewhat relaxed in his room, though full relaxation in his current predicament was impossible. He looked over his arms at the golden sheen caused by what he figured was callousing of which the cause was unknown. The look of his skin wasn't repulsive, quite the contrary, though it did make him stand out a bit amongst his own people. His views also made him stand out too.
Now, he waits. He waits for a group of unknowns, more people he cannot afford to trust. Does he really have any choice? He was made to leave with the very little he possessed, and after resupplying himself, he has found himself broke again. He reconciles the commitment he made with one of his fellow Umbral heretics by telling himself that he is merely selling the misplacement of his distrust of almost everyone.
Suddenly he is jolted from his thoughts and sits upright as the cacophony of talking seeps and invades the cracks in the door to his room. Are these the people he's been hired to aid, or have the spies that have been sent to observe his spreading of heresy finally caught up with him.
He gets up to put an ear to the door to listen in. One of the voices doesn't sound anything like a Umbral. In fact, all those who have spoken so far have accents distinguishing themselves as not being Umbral. He cracks the door to peek in on the new arrivals, and when he was satisfied they weren't here to lynch him, he opens the door fully and without a word, walks into the room.
After a lengthy look over and measuring up of the group he finally says,"I am called Quarlin Mathers. I was hired to aid a group, and I assume you all are that group. Yes, No? If I am incorrect please tell me so and I will return to waiting in my room, but if I am correct, I know very little of you or what aid I am to provide, so if one of you would be so kind to fill me in."
Quarlin remained standing and facing the group, awaiting some kind of response from someone.

Im so sorry, but I've been hit hard by the evil monster Real Life with some issues I can't just ride through, ignore, or escape from. All games that I am running will have to be put on hold until after Thanksgiving at the latest. Hopefully I can still play the games im in but DMing takes a lot more time than I can afford at this time.
Once again, Im sorry, But im not quitting, I do plan to start things back up asap.

Its not a hearing aid. In 1928 they were still using sound horns. The patent for the first electric hearing aid wasn't submitted until 1-10-1934 by Albert Einstein.
It wasn't a transistor radio. In 1928 people were still using tube radios that were as big as our TVs were in the early '80s. In fact the first commercialized radio (Regency and Texas Instrument's TR1) wasn't put out for sale until 1954.
I believe it is a camera trick, in fact I can create the same illusion of someone using out of time technology in a classic film.
notice it is not a continuous shot from the dvd menu to his "time traveler" footage. I saw the original video, the British guy shows you the dvd, and then shows you that he is accessing the "documentary" in the dvd menu but breaks visual to focus on him again to explain something then goes back to his footage to show you the woman/man time traveler using what looks like a cell phone. During that cutaway, he could have inserted doctored footage. he even admits that he makes movies.

Brianna decided to go cammo and hide in the forest but within line of sight of the forest on the other side to get the drop on any gnolls that come from the origin of the rustling in the bushes. so unless she changes gears, she wouldn't be much help to shades331.

Sorry for the departure, but our job is a foregone conclusion to put it mildly. To be brutally honest, I was only in it for the money, and I never really liked having to work with a paladin. We have our reasons for leaving, and I nor Camille are about to explain ourselves to you now. Let's just say, things would definitely get complicated if we continued together. We are going to find a way home or at least a way to get somewhere a little more familiar than this. If we find a way I'll try to get word to all of you, but I see no reason for the affliction my sister and I have to slow you all down. Don't try to find us. We are much faster than we let on, and we can always use the shadows better than most, so between her magic and my agility and strength will get us through.

just don't make a habit of assuming. Packs and bedrolls were left but their weapons and whatever they had stashed in their garments were taken with them. How or why they are gone is kinda like a scooby doo mystery (Did they get abducted or leave on their own volition?)
As long as everyone is on the same page as watches go.

No that is not what I meant. As you can see from the map the gnolls are at least 10 ft of each other. so if you flame strike a gnoll that will be the only gnoll you hit. I wasn't talking area of effect, but only about range, which you have in spades (range 100ft + 10/lvl).
