Bailash sighs with head in hands in exasperation and says,

"I didn't call the courier here for nothing. I feel very strongly that the group needs to stick together. I also feel that the best way to solve this mystery is to go with the flow. There is too much guessing and second guessing about the few clues gathered so far. I only hope that Satya can change Lacey's mind because we could use even half her courage in this case. I sense too much caution. We need to get you equipped and back to investigating the house as soon as possible. As long as the group stays together, no matter what happens I'm sure you will all survive, IF YOU work as a team."

Devon looks over the items and his eyes brighten at the sight of a wand of levitation and a ring of the ram.

"These look interesting, may I use them?"

Bailash summoned simon the butler, " Please summon my best and most powerful mage courier for he has a group to teleport to the best shop or shops in town."

Simon says, "Right away sir!"

Half an hour passes when the sounds of two sets of foot steps approach the library.

Simon and a courier arrive in the library,"As you requested sir. This is Tannif, the more powerful of your couriers."

"I believe that time, as it goes, is no longer on our side.
When we are done here I will arrange for one of my mage couriers to teleport you all to one of the best shops in town for magical equipping. This town is pretty large and we can't really afford the time to travel in search of shops."

Bailash just sat there, mouth agape, as the group he brought together was dwindling before his eyes.

He had heard every word that was said but it was Xavier's voice asking for direction that pulled him out of shock.

"I believe as you do. the house is the most logical course but you all need to learn EVERYTHING about the house you can.

Now Seluumiel, the wand on the table is yours. It should have stayed with Lacey. It was her reward just the same as all the weapons and items given a day ago for taking the mission."

at that time Camille came back in from her rest and took notice that Satya was gone, "Where is Satya, I thought she was staying with us?"

Bailash looked up at Camille with a concerned and upset look and said, "I assumed she went after Lacey to change her mind. I do hope she comes back soon. Also I may have a wand you need. A wand of Idenify. But you all have 1500 gold coming to you for your first mission. It is unfortunate that lacey risked her life only to leave behind her reward."

Topic: Diabolic Genesis-Origins of Evil
Subject: The cults of Tiamat

At Seluumiel's question, Bailash's features took on an air of stern and purposeful concentration, as if in a self induced trance. He looked not into the eyes of anyone in the room, but to the ceiling, as if looking through it to the sky, as though looking at images playing out on a screen that all should see. He begins to speak in a tone that is almost dream like, as if he was trying to carry everyone present into the past with only the heaviness of his voice.

"In long years past, there were five cults to Tiamat. The Melted Black Fist cult had its greatest influence in the swamp and wetlands of Faerun. The Ice Heart cult influenced affairs in Icewind Dale and other northern territories. The Green Talon and the Blue Tempest cults claim territories in the mountain ranges of Faerun. There is an abandoned temple ruin to Tiamat at least seventy-five miles northwest of Leaphaven that was where the Fire-Branded Red Hand worshipped. The cult weakened and dispersed all of about twenty years ago. It is rumored that the Mage faction of the civil war harbors the reminents of Fire-Branded Red Hand, though as was said, its just a rumor There is no real evidence to support such claims. When these cults had a hold on the land and power to influence and rule, it was a dark time indeed. But now the best evidence we now have of these cults' weakened and dimished state, are the comforts and freedoms we enjoy today. It is my belief that the house randomly moves through the realms and traps creatures unwittingly. I do not feel as if the house is controlled by Tiamat. Even Lacey said that the black dragon she encountered said it did not mean to be there, that it was an accident."

"So what I'm taking from this is that you concur with what I corelated yesterday evening. The book is old and so are the rumors of cults in Unther. The Civil war in Unther may be or maybe not influenced by followers of Tiamat but She has rarely in long past did anything on her own. She usually uses higher followers, as in avatars and minions, as generals or "Masters" to do her bidding. Unther is taken care of believe me. It is why this town's security is so weak It is the house that scares me."

Leave the descriptions to me. I'v basically described anything the characters need to know about or see. thanks anyway.

The foyer is 10' X 10' with a couch against the back wall.
The floor is carpetted in red. A candle chandelier hangs 5' above the group's heads. Art adorns the 3 walls while tapestries drape down the wall above the couch. There is a doorless entrance to the dining room to the left of the couch. There is are hallways leading out of the Foyer along the back wall to the east and west wings of the house. It's the east wing corridor that leads to the office and ends with the library.

"Greetings and welcome everyone!", he called from the entrance to the dining area. "I trust you have all eaten. If you will, follow me into the library." As he began walking down the corridor, he stopped and put a finger in the air as though an after thought just entered his head.
Bailash turned to behold the new knight and the newly reunited siblings. "Well done, Tenacity. It's good to finally see you in person, Camille." He then smiles at Xavier, then turns back down the corridor and leads the group into the library.

As the group make their way into the library, the chairs look familiar because they are the chairs from the office.
Bailash waves an arm in a sweeping motion towards the chairs, "Please, sit everyone. The library is larger than my office so I figured we could meet in here."
He Turned to Seluumiel asking,"Was the book I lent you useful? What were you able to gleen from its pages?"

Topic: So who was your first?
Subject: My first

My first D&D character was created in 2001 when a guy I worked with at wal-mart invited me to a game he was running. It was at the eve of the 3.0 edition so Chris ,the guy who invited me, DMed his game with a fused system of 2nd and 3rd edition rules. Being that this was my first character, ever, I created a 5th lvl male elf wizard named Solstice.

Since I was, at the time, a D&D virgin due to my religion's belief that D&D was an evil game, Backgroud stories for a character was a foreign concept to me (not to mention my first introduction to RPGs was through early video games on the NES like Dragon Warrior, Ultima-Exodus, and Magic of Sheherzade).
Solstice was cocky and self assure (and to later find out, very un-elf like), which that got him in plenty of trouble for he was no where near ready for half the crap he got himself into. It's a miracle he didn't die. Because Solstice's traveling companion had a bad habbit of falling behind (the player didn't show up for sessions), Solstice wound up doing a lot of fighting solo, which toughened him up quite a bit. Solstice never really died, but his adventuring career was cut short at Level 8 and faded into the back of my mind and into forgetfulness for everyone else that knew of him.

Topic: Dungeons & Dragon: Wrath of the Dragon God
Subject: decent movie

There were two dragons in it and the CG graphics that made them up was much better than the first movie. Continuity didn't seem to be an issue with the producers though. The girls were hot.

Continuity-wise, Profion in the first movie DID remove the "curse" before he died. Riddly then fought and killed
Damadar by stabbing him from behind then tossing him off the tower. So the story of how he made it into the second story makes no sense.

It was a decent movie but it and its predecessor lack something.

D&D was inspired by Tolkien and Mass army simulation games in the beginning. Lord of the Rings Trilogy was a great sucess. I guess what I'm saying is the next D&D movie should be directed by Peter Jackson.

Subject: Devon

"It's no problem, Alexandria. It's just a shame they had to be that way about your beliefs. I'm almost sure if it was a human paladin in shining armor with the same beliefs, they would have let him or her in. Judging a book by its cover is the act of a small, shallow mind.
There are drow in my homeland, too. The evil ones are actually in the minority there, but so are the drow. The dragons there have hunted them down almost to extinction."

Devon gets up after drinking his ale and mounts his steed.
Turning his horse towards the women he says, "Sorry, I can't stay longer but Lorae ordered a big meal and I better get back if I want it hot. Sleep well and be safe."

With that he clicks his tongue twice to get his horse into a trot back to town.

************************************

When he got back to the inn, He notices Lorae sitting at a table loaded with a good variety of food, and good thing too for he had worked up quite the appetite.

"Hey Lorae, good choice in vittles, looks good."

Devon washes his hands in the bucket and then looks up as Lorae addresses him, "So, Devon, what did bring you to join us this morning? I caught snatches sof your story throughout the ride, but never got the whole thing all together. It will make the wait for food less wearisome."

"Ok, It's kind of a long story though. My father wanted to send me to the Mage's University in Sebria, the largest city in Genesica. Although I can read very well, books are not my thing and I would not have it. I was able to teach myself to control my powers and hone my casting skills until I could give even one of those rich, bratty, University graduates a run for their money in a mage's duel.
When I turned 18, my father gave me This map of Faerun."
Devon pulls out an old and worn map and opens it up for her to see it, "Father had called in a few favors with a loremaster friend of his, Edgar Magernot. The cartographers and loremasters poured over tomes of history and legend and picked each others brains for information on Faerun to make the map. As accurate as they could make it, the map still has its flaws. My father marked specific locations to visit in Faerun and tasks to perform in each location. He figured I was old enough to make it on my own when I finally decided to leave and so he gave me the map and told me 'to try and escape this wretched place and make your way back to your ancestral homeland. When there, follow these instructions.' Five years later, my mother and father among many others died in a surprise dragon attack from *Sver'ir*, which is Draconic for 'Dark One', and his second son Darmatair as a payback hit for Wolvertain. I feared not for my life and joined the fight against the dragons. Sure that I would lose his my in the fight, I rushed forward in close battle with Darmatair and fought as if I knew for a fact there was not going to be a tomorrow for me. Getting as close to Darmatair as I dared to, I threw five daggers at the notoriously weak spot in a dragon's underbelly and throat. Two missed and three drove home into the target causing poisonous gas to spew forth from the wounds, unfortunately gassing me near to death but I was later saved by a cleric of Pelor from Kamosa, a small town to the north of Cabaya, a small city at the center of Genesica. As life continued for me, I lived with survivor's guilt wishing my own life would end. I began smoking a pipe at 30 years of age and made a living taking reckless, and death-defying dares for money, secretly hoping my next dare would end me. Thats how I came to be in Faerun."

Devon uses a fork to stab some beef and helps himself to some vegatables. He cuts some meat and eats it making sure his mouth is clear before beginning to speak again.

"Some Mage University students pooled their money together totaling 156,000 gp daring me to enter a portal rumored to be unstable and unreliable for use. I said,"If I am to risk this much, the least you could risk is half of the wager. For 78,000 gp I will walk through the portal and if I don't come back, consider me dead. At least I will have treated you to a vision few have ever seen."
They of course felt it was a fair request, and I stepped through. It took me all of a week to learn I had arrived in Faerun, and that made a believer in fate out of me."
