Topic: When a paladin falls
Subject: sounds sort of familiar

I had a paladin of Pelor become corrupted with power and pride to the point that he became a proverbial "Jesus" in the campaign, (The player took the "leadership" feat and acquired a few cohorts and a mess load of followers)though the way he was playing his character, "Jesus" may not be the best example. I had Pelor pay him a visit in his dreams and hand him an atonement mission that required him to sacrifice his life for another person selflessly. He successfully completed his mission taking a bite from a megapede for one younger and less powerful than he was, and he stood before Pelor. Pelor gave him a choice, begin his afterlife or resume his life with his comrades and finish his mission of destroying the evil in the world he was in (A second test). He made the right choice, to resume his mission. In consequence his character required less attention from the DM from then on and the other characters took a more active part in the campaign.

I guess the big difference here is that the game became better for the experience rather than worse.

Topic: Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting Available!
Subject: Bump and update (if you don't mind)

Hey Steelight,

Just wanted to let everyone here know that my Realms of Twilight game begins on the Infrno.net site on Jan. 6th and would really like to start on that day. However, there hasn't been very much interest, though I'm not giving up!

Throughout the game post on the Infrno.net site, I've created links to your Realms of Twilight site hoping to maybe even drum up some business for you and some interest in the setting.

For those of you that may not know what I'm talking about, click Here !!!!

And, Steelight, Its my vote that you post some of that book for feedback. I personally can't wait for the book to be finished so that I can purchase and read it.

Well that's about it. Register on Infrno, request friendship with me and Steelight, spread the word about the game(s) (Steelight plans to run a game there as well), and while you're at it, JOIN THE GAME!

Subject: Four Parts Destiny- A Pathfinder game set in Realms of Twilight

I have set up a thread already in spamvertize about a site called Infrno dealing with a virtual table top.

Now at the request of Steelight, I will be running a game set in his campaign setting "REALMS OF TWILIGHT" called "Four Parts Destiny". I still haven't got any players interested so I was hoping to drum up some interest here. Please register at this site and join my game.

Just my proposed title to your story.

Loved it by the way. I wouldn't say confusing was the right word for me in differentiating between the good and bad mages during the fight but more jumpy. It kinda shook me from my grip and immersion in the story as I gained the realization of which mage was speaking at the time.

Awesome work, I'll be on the look out for any continuations or additions to your story.

Topic: Realms of Twilight - A Journey Begins
Subject: The Mansion

Let no good deed go unpunished, Quarlin thought to himself. That was what he thought of his deeds in the Undercity. He was trying to awaken something lost in his people and they banished him for it. Something powerful. Maybe if this mission changes something for the better, if he himself survives, his people would see the powerful example that he is.

He then began to think of the Umbral that hired him, and of the figure shrouded in shadow that addressed the group he was now a part of. Let no good deed go unpunished, Quarlin thought again, but this time of the ones in real control of this mission.

As the thought finished in his head, another voice, distant and ominously resounding in his head, spoke to him, tenderly, calmly, but to a certain degree, had threatening undertones, ""Welcome to the Shadow's fold. The Master bids you welcome."

The shadows that obscured the forest, and made the trip through the woods so difficult, began to dissipate. This only made Quarlin wonder if this was a test of their resolve, their determination to make it to their destination. The shadows cleared to reveal a clear path.

"Have no fear." the voice continues, "You will come to no harm, for you are under the Master's protection. You will find the estate you seek at the end of the northern path, less than a mile from here. He awaits you."

Let no good deed go unpunished....How can I know I can trust this 'master'. I'm not even sure how far I can trust my companions. Sure, the master could have killed us off by now, even could have had the guards do it.

The group finally made it to the mansion. As the he and the party stood in awe at the richness of it, the big front doors of the place opened up to reveal a well dressed man in the accoutrements
of a servant or butler.

The servant man showed the group to the parlor, citing that the master would be busy for quite a while and informed us that there is a room prepared for each of them. Quarlin wasn't about to show that he wasn't up to this kind work by hitting the bed as soon as one was made available, and besides, the group, especially the half-orc showed more interest in the eatables the rich place had to offer, and who could blame him. After nothing but trail rations, whatever this place had to offer had to be twice as fulfilling. Quarlin did wait, though, for everyone else to have a bite or two. Only when nobody died of poisoning or turned into glassy eyed zombies for the master's control, did he begin to make himself a plate of food.

Waiting for his mouth to be empty after his first bite, he agreed with the half-orc by saying,"Finally, some decent quality sustenance! If the rooms are as comfortable as this food is good, we should rest well after this meal."

Subject: John Wayne the Shiny Gunned Cowboy

You know Wyatt, and Virgil, and Morgan, and Holiday...
Wild Bill Hitcock, the James boys, the Coles, and William H. Bonney.

But do you recall, the most famous cowboy of all?

John Wayne the shiny gunned cowboy, had a very shiny gun.
(Like the Lone Ranger)
And whenever he would draw it, you would turn around and run. (like a Jack rabbit)
All of the other cowboys, used to laugh and call him names.
(Like Prairie Fairy)
They never let poor John Wayne play in any poker games.
(Like Black Jack)

Then one foggy Christmas Eve, the Sheriff came to say, "John Wayne with your Gun so bright, Won't you shoot Black Bart tonight?"

Then how the cowboys loved him and they shouted out in glee,"Yeehaw!"
John Wayne the shiny gunned cowboy, you'll go down in history! (Like Eastwood!)

Topic: Loaded Dice #66: Not so Fast...
Subject: I know im reading a bit much into this but......

as i read this strip my mind started flooding with possible sollutions.

If one of the party has a shield, Dalana can stuff herself and the party in the fireplace and use the shield as a "door" to the opening (hey something similar worked in Independence Day during a massive explosion in a tunnel).

Or, depending on the time available to them, she could try a heal check on the cleric to stabilize him (and don't they have any healing potions?)and hopefully he has the prayer Create Water, to put out the flames.

Great story up to this point, Olan!

I call BS as well, as in boob shot (panel 1). lol

she would be a nerd's dream girl.

Awsome strip. If only I could be that lucky. Usually when the party's well being is riding on one of my rolls, it goes the other way.

Sorgoth might be able to control one but not both wraiths. With one of the wraiths tied up for the moment, Sorgoth turns his attention on the wraith threatening Avriel. He channels necromantic energies to attempt to enslave and control the ghostly creature.

Hoping for success but preparing for failure, Sorgoth readies his Magic Missile spell as a back up and commands the wraith, "Leave us! Feed on the nightlings that occupy these wastes, but not on us!"

Sorgoth tries to guage the wraith's response to his command, but at the first sign of trouble out of it he will pump him full of three blasts of force energy.
