Calvary is coming....

The "dead" of the Yardiff Bey party were Yardiff and the four man crew of the ASREV. I was reading back and noticed some were afraid that innocent people were killed. Certainly the sheriff would have confirmed this over the time that passed between missions.

One more little post and I'll have Ash caught up.

I am aware that some people have been waiting on me, and I'm sorry. RL is busy for me, as I have said before, so waiting on me is a bad idea.

I will try to put up here in future the bare bones of why John is going to do so you all have some idea of his actions if you'd like to know before I post but adding flesh to them bones takes time for me (often time spread out over the whole week). I know you are being patient with me, and I'm very thankful for it, and I will always do my utmost to make sure I post within a week of the update.

Regarding my post, I hope it's clear what is John's speech and what is not John's speech. If you'd like I can do my old thing of putting my character's speech in italics bold to make it clearer.

I also hope that I've not taken liberties with this post, as I know in my last update I did take a couple which I needed to edit out after they were pointed out. If I have just say so and I'll make the appropriate changes.

EDIT: BTW Eol, I very much like Fu Sheng as a character and the detail in your posts. I'm sorry I've not paid much attention to him in my post.

Cheers Al, this knowledge will certainly improve John's feelings (not quite the right word but hopefully you know what I mean) on the event. He still doesn't recall it as anything overly positive though, after all people did die.

We all know how RL can get in the way; it happens to all of us at one time or another.

Late edits for the win! I've just included a short bit at the end of my post detailing some conversation with the captain. It should help add some gravity to the situation... because I've done some number crunching and even with 17 ten-man escape pods over-full there will still be a good number of people left on the Star of Sihnon, more then likely over 100, and there is no way the Roc can take on that many. Fates be good the Star can last out as the Roc calls for additional aid.

Also, along the lines of numbers, John will suggest that the crew share quarters, preferably the ones towards the prow of the Roc, as to open up more of the passenger dorms for casualties. You could, at a push, get two or more in each probably and we can likely squeeze a good number of the more able casualties into the short-range shuttles if push came to shove.

EDIT: also today, once everybody has posted, I hope to get up some of Johns responses to people. Although that might have to wait for next week. It'll be interesting to see how Captain Wyatt takes John taking up such an authoritative role... hopefully he won't get the chain of command and beat John with it.

None of us mind waiting a bit for a post, but once people start posting after you, please don't go back and add to your posts - too easy to miss. Better to add a short new post where everyone will see it

Vanadia - I'm sure that Sifu Cheung would have happily accepted/approved Willow's request to join him in his devotions.

Loki - No worries about "paying little attention" to Fu Sheng in John's posts. The tech-guy's got a bit more on his mind than the "probably only going to be here for a short time, anyway" passenger. Thanks for the kind words regarding the character, though.

Sorry about that last! Not trying to stir the pot, just reacting as Tess would and putting a little flavor in there. I can’t see our crew being all rainbows and cupcakes all the time.

I’d like to do some "in the previous seven days" collaboration between one or more of the crew mates for some character rapport/development of relationships. Any takers? It’ll be posted out of context, but I think it’s important.

I put up the collaboration that Ody and I did about Tess's goggles in the Rocinante backstory thread. ^_^

I'd be up for that if I can stretch to it. I'll try to get my response written early this week if I can.

And about adding some flavor, I can't see how the whole crew would be rainbows and sunshine all the time either. Fortunately John isn't adverse to stepping down from fights and keeps things in, what he would call, the proper perspective. Expect something along the lines of "You're picking now to argue?"

I can definitely see Tess asking about those crazy notions of flinging himself out of a perfectly air worthy bird again at some point over the last few days. ^_^

I said Ash going to his station with Wolf even before Roger asked where the characters would be located. I'm getting better at this!
