Guns may not be the answer
As a GM, let me assess your situation. You have a hostage used as a shield with three armed men with automatic weapons. You have a ASREV with guns trained on your ship/home/sniper's rest. You have a crowd of people that may panic and do gods knows what any time. Wyatt and Willow are very close to the action and could be in serious danger.
Tess knows that the Thugs are armed and moving to intercept because the musician has the "wrong" case.
Just want to clarify some knowledge that characters have and do not before the proverbial s*** hits the fan.
Only Tess and Jessie know that the cases are switched and that the musician is not carrying the one he thinks he is. As well, they are the only two that realize Matherson knows about the switch as well.
Asher knows Matherson and his goons wanted the case but does not know about the switch.
Willow had prior knowledge of this cruise as she was invited to join Cameron before the adventure started. Willow has just had an epiphany and thinks she knows what is in the case (Musician's case that is)
John and Wolf have no idea what is going on at the camp other that a ship with Fed marking has landed and Tess just sent a distress call.
The GM has no idea what you people are going to do next but has several NPC's to run with different agendas. My challenge is Sifu. He is there, in the thick of things and has some skills that can help. I don't want to play him over an active player though. However I can not have him standing around either. So I am gaming on that fine line between story telling and telling the story.

If you want Roger
I could run Sifu as far as the combat actions are concerned and you run him as an NPC all other times until Eol returns. You'd just need go over his character with me and let me know what his mindset is so to speak. With Wolf off at the Atmo would give me a way to be in the possible upcoming action.

Hurm
Thanks for the offer Albert but handing Sifu to a player is similar to handing River over to a PC. Next thing you know, they've killed every Reaver in the room. Rob and I had a plan for working the monk and I doubt Robert will be back soon.
Apollo doesn't have pilot as a skill. He can drive but not fly. However I do think that him running down to the shuttle and realizing this will be an absolutely genuine Role playing moment.
