Well if Roger wanted to fast forward the last story line and then he set up a new adventure with same boat, Captain, PR man and mechanic...maybe ever our old pilot Sam. We add a couple of new folk and NPC Ma and we're flying.

What was it about Rocinante that y'all love so much?

What an easy question..... I love the outer space setting of Firefly, the world and the myrid of different characters that you find there. I loved the role play interaction between the players and their characters, not even in Trilogy was it quite as good. However it really comes down to one thing and that thing is you Roger.

Your ability to tell a story and do it with fun elements added in. The ability to keep players like me interested in continuing to move forward and not only wanting to keep playing but NEEDING to. Keeping a game going has never been as strong with me except in 6 games in all my years at the Inn. Trilogy of course, but also CWWLLO, both Firefly games, and Brom's old cyberpunk game and his current new one.

I decided a long time ago that there were really only 2 DM's I would play with again and that was you and Brom. I have learned so much from you two since when I first logged into the Inn in 2004 and I believe if not for you both I would not be the DM I am today.

So yeah What was it about Rocinante that y'all love so much? You the DM..................

I loved the 'Verse, the ship, and the crew. The relationships and such. Captain Sung is one of my favorite characters and your storytelling is fantastic!

I loved it all! The group/family dynamic with the crew, the setting, the story telling... ALL of it was just the best!

Also, Dash has been one of my favorite characters to play EVER.

If they also return that's pretty much the whole old crew +1. We could theoretically start from where we stopped without any new starting point.

We would just need to reread the last few pages or so.

As I see it, this would be the crew:

Captain: Wyatt Sung
Pilot: Sam Dash
Mechanic: Fenris (Wolf) Apollo
PR Man: Asher Talhone
Doctor and Contacts: Willow T
Tech and second pilot: Jade Storm (she wanted to play Grace but I could not see two mechanics on the same ship with a greater style difference)

Now I would like to start fresh so I will actually write an ending for the last adventure that will pull everything together and even help get Sam back to the ship. This way Eol and Grumpy Old Bear (GOB) do not have to wait around for the game to start with them.

I have talked to GOB and he will not be part of the crew but a passenger, part of the next adventure - Mr. Vile B. Trayer? No!!!

So give me a week or two to get things sorted out, get GOB up with a character, and write the narrative.

...I did start writing a "spin-off" some time back in which Tink had Sam shuttled off to Jiang Yin where he worked as a ranch hand... Intent was to have him living out a boring but peaceful existence for a time until, on a trip into town, he got mixed up in an altercation at the saloon, caught the sheriff's attention as a result, and ended up being "hired" by the town to tackle "the Dead Man Gang"...

Never did get too awful far into writing/posting it all up but... *shrugs* ... Dunno if that little bit might help you or not, Roger. Mightn't be too hard for Wyatt to run a trip "home" and find Sam there... Hell, Ol' Dash had even taken to visiting/tending the graves of Wyungsung's wife and daughter if I remember correctly... and got better on that gorram harmonica of his, too.

Not as much posted there as I have written, but, as far as the Inn 'Verse is concerned, that's the last time they saw ol' Sammy.

I have something in mind to get Sam back but what went on between then and now is up to you.

You and Mmv should also work out how Jade and Sam know each other as that was established.
