Wow, a use for dwarven stonecunning?
Gerdar - you can tell that the stonework down here is very old. The work in the front portion of the Vargolg was also very old, but showed frequent sign of more recent habitation and occaisonal "touch up." Nothing down here shows any indication of having been changed in many, many years. Nor does it show much sign of usage - you find a total of one scratch that might be newed - meaning not hundreds of years old. The natural passage shows no real sign of having been shaped. Maybe a bit - but a long, long time ago. Nor is there any sign of recent usage. As you look down the natural tunnel there is no real support for the rock and the things are loose enough that you suggest caution. Nothing in the area you can see looks like it will collapse, but "solidly built" is not a phrase you would use, even if it had ever actually been "built,"
