Subject: Roll of thunder hear my cry!

The loud bang of a gun rang through Ielei's ears, and with instinct faster than thought she channeled. Essence flowed through her in waves, filling her with life. Stepping back from the table she focused her attention on the feral Hector. He had not stepped forward to attack, but she had little doubt he would. Bullets and arrows had already been released and combat had ensued. There would be no smoothing the situation over. She sighed and resigned herself to what must be done. Spinning the gathered essence into flows of air Ielei narrowed her eyes as a vibrating matrix of essence poured out from her and into Hector. The invisible threads of air pulsed and rubbed against one another, faster and faster they moved against themselves until the energy could no longer be contained. A blinding flash of light and an ear splintering crack erupted in the inn. As the thunder faded to a low rumble the elf opened herself to the magic again. If either dogman attacked she would be ready.

(OOC: 2 essence spent on Elemetal Air: Lightning Bolt directed at Hector)

Selunine breathed deeply, a muffled rustling waking her from the trance. Slowly her eyes took in the darkened room, and fell on the silhouette of a small woman rummaging through the bags in their room. Selunine leapt to her feet, but before she could react fully the intruder jumped out the window. The woman stopped just outside the window, her shadowed features watching them. Stepping towards the window the silver haired fey gazed out the window at the silhouette, her violet eyes glowing brighter. The familiar feeling of magic washed over her like a tide. Pulsing through her veins it flowed through her, and her whole being vibrated with its rhythms.

"You look tired child," Selunine spoke with a seductive coolness, "It would be best if you came back in our room and took a nap. Return what you have taken and you can take a relaxing nap in one of these comfortable beds." Compulsion echoed each word, carrying the power of Selunine's spell to the shadowed woman. The enchantress spun her charm and stepped back from the window awaiting the intruder's return.

(OOC: casts Suggestion on the woman outside the window.)

What do I love most? I shall tell you. I absolutely adore all of the tourists that come and visit New York. They do these truly wonderful things, such as standing at the top of the stairwell entrance to the subway on the phone with a map. I love that they stand there instead of off to the side so the 8 million of us living in the city have to wait to get on the trains. Fantastic! Or they walk side by side taking up the whole sidewalk while moving at a glacial pace, that's my favorite. Nobody in New York is ever in a hurry, never. We love to wait in the city. Love it!

But then they had to go and ruin the moment with all that song and dance!

Sorry about the delay, having some transitional stuff going on (the textile industry is not in a good place right now).

As you all may have noticed, Ielei is mildly b****y, cold, and has a dislike of men - and for those of you that don't speak spanish, "perro asado" is a lovely dish of roast dog.

Cyco, I'm looking at the Witchcraft book right now. With a mindhands strength of 3 you would be able to telekinetically hurl up to 250 pounds, and if Nuar can channel that strength can be increased by one point per 2 essence points (you are limited to whatever your essence channel level is). It seems pretty likely to me that Nuar would be able to toss a table at our canine friends. Look at your dexterity and mindhands art, combine the two and you have your likelihood of succeeding at what you are trying to do (you need to roll a 9 or higher to succeed, the sum of your dexterity and mindhands art will be added to the roll). I hope this helps. All the info for Mindhands is on pgs 228 and 229 of the book.

Ielei's eyes narrowed as the canine pair harangued Clementine, and narrowed to indigo slits when one of the pair grabbed the dwarf's arm. Beneath her still features anger frothed and boiled and the elf began contemplating a perro asado feast for the citizens of Cherish, male violence on women infuriated her. She felt an equally angered presence at her side, and recognized it immediately. Turning her head slightly her indigo gaze fell on an a beautiful elf woman; copper skinned, emerald eyed, and golden haired - an apparition that only she could see. Their eyes met, the indignant rage of one mirrored mirrored in the gaze of the other. The elven apparition had been called Iemaia; the bond they shared could not be broken by the passing of the ages, death, or even the extinction of a people. Iemaia was a part of Ielei and Ielei was a part of Iemaia. A spectral copper hand touched her shoulder, and rage calmed itself. Perhaps the situation could be diffused without violence, it was doubtful but preferable.

Her hopes to mediate the situation were dowsed as Karn Tur sneered insults at the dogmen. Ielei shot a glance to Iemaia and muttered something in the elf tongue, something to the effect of "idiot men and their bravado." She missed the matriarchies of the days of old. Shooting an icy stare at Karn Tur, the elf took a step forward and glanced at each of the canines in turn.

"Perhaps," Ielei addressed the dogmen with a firm calm "it would be best if you found somewhere else to water your thirst?"

The street faded from her awareness, and quickly her senses were attuned to the bank interior. Sapa soaked in the scene unfolding before her; the ten terrified hostages and the metallic Gibson Hall with the swirling vortex of coins orbiting around in his person. She quelled a bubble of rage that frothed within her. Any doubts she had now faded, and the Lakota released her awareness of the bank, the pandemonium of the street enveloping her once again.

Sapa shook her head, realigning herself with the street. She turned to the others, they could not all go rushing in. Physical power would have to be held at bay. She could hold the man for a time, but not forever.

"Gibson Hall has ten people held in the bank. He has transformed his skin into what seems a bullet proof metal exterior, and he surrounds himself with an orbit of floating coins, which I have seen him wield as a devastating weapon." Sapa recounted the scene to her new teammates in a cool tone. She continued,"This needs to be handled subtly. I can take hold of his mind from a distance. I'm not sure how long I can hold control of his mind, but anything else I fear will alert him to our presence and will likely endanger the lives of the hostages." She focused her attention to Copycat, "When I take hold of his mind he will need to be taken out. If you think you can make it in unnoticed I will tell what form to take."

"Should I call for a stop Miss Selunine, or would you like to press on? We have enough supplies, and it's mostly just rabble here. But, if you like, we can stop. Perhaps you can discuss it with you companion." The coach master addressed her through the small roof window of the carriage, and she looked up for a moment before returning her violet gaze to the scene before her. Selunine pulled the carriage curtain aside to study the rural dwellings scattered sparsely across this landscape. The silhouette of a great city could be seen in the distant horizon. Pressing a white hand to the carriage window the fey looked from village to city and back again. A respite from travel for a night would be nice, but being so close the city pressing on would be the logical choice. She would have to ask Trillion, perhaps the other woman had desires to visit the shanty town.

"If we could stop for a moment I will take it up with my friend, thank you." Selunine answered with her gaze fixated on the mud brick buildings before them. As the carriage came to a halt she stepped out, the small dog in one arm and her white skirts held in the other. Selunine made her way to Trillion, moving with a slowed deliberation. Dropping her skirts she raised a delicate hand to Trillion, gesturing for her to stop.

Taking another step to the woman and her horse Selunine spoke, "It would appear that we are only days away from Badon. However, as we stand here before the village, have you need of anything? Do you need respite from travel?"

Selunine looked at Trillion for a moment, and nodded. The was much to be learned from the great Hall of Heroes, but it could be studied later. Selunine had no desire to wait outside the city walls, she had come here to act. It would seem that Trillion had begun to learn the story of Melios, the dragons, and the heroes. Perhaps it was time to reveal something of why she was here. There would be time enough for that on their way to Badon.

"I think it best we make our way to Badon, there will be time enough to return to the holy city. Let us go." Violet eyes peered out at Trillion, awaiting a response.

Selunine's violet eyes shift from the fatherly cleric to the guardsmen and back again. Looking up the city appeared before her full of majesty. She had watched it from afar for centuries, but all that this world held was ever more vibrant in person. So much of what she had seen was but an echo of its living reality. The Holy City of Alimar, a place so utterly dedicated to goodness, if there were any willing to stand against the rising tide of Melios surely they were within the city walls. Yet, perhaps it was best their entrance was barred. The devout were often blinded by their faith, and many saw the fey peoples as denizens of evil. It was impossible that they would see her as anything more than an elf, but still she breathed with some relief.

Badon was a hub of many peoples, and as good a place as any to begin. Travel to the port city had already been provide for, and she needed to find a new horse and gear before making her way on her own. Selunine turned to face Trillion. She would let the other woman decide their destination for now. Though she had watched Shrie for centuries Trillion had actually been here, and she would have to place her trust in the woman for now.

"It would seem that we will not be walking the streets of the Holy City of Alimar today," Selunine speaks smoothly and reaches out a hand to touch Trillion's shoulder. "Perhaps it would be best if we take the generous offer of passage. What do you think?"

Sitting at the table with Nuar, Ielei spooned the lumpy soup of pork and beans. She made her meal mostly out of the stale bread, soaking up the soups warm broth. In her past she had rarely eaten meat, though she greatly doubted the likelihood of finding many fresh vegetables in the barren desert. Her indigo eyes narrowed as Clementine detailed the story of the Oasis. The power to wield magic was a gift, and with that gift came great responsibility. It would be a great abuse of power if the Scott brothers were really using magic to control the water in Cherish Valley. Had her long sleep not weakened her so greatly Ielei would have taught the brothers a lesson herself. But the sleep had weakened her, and she had other reasons for being in the Despair. She would need more than rumors to be called into action, and even if that proof presented itself she would need help.

Clementine left the table abruptly, and made her way to the doorway. The elf watched the dwarf carefully, and her eyes were pulled to the strange pair making their way to the inn. Indigo eyes met golden eyes, narrowing at the sight of their animalistic features. Growls of bravado erupted from the pair and Ielei stood up to get a better look. She cock her head to the side, hissing out breath as her eyes fell on the glinting revolver. Of all the creations of this age she could not resign herself to guns. It was true she had guns of her own, but they sat at her hips as a last resort. Ielei had her own defenses, should the approaching pair turn violent they would discover things more dangerous than a bullet.

"Well met, Selunine Lhianna'anei. As you need for healing, I have a wand of healing that I can use, if you will permit me to. As for the city nearby yes there is the Holy City of Alimar. It is not too far off and I can get us back there quickly enough. I also have a few cantrips that can mend your dress and clean you up. If it is your wish I will use those as well. Have you found any of your belongings in the wreckage yet? I can help you search for them.” Trillion addressed her, and with every word Selunine watched the other woman more intently. Trillion offered so much so readily, and she was wary of that. The Aos Si were suspicious by nature, the fey watchers pulled the puppets strings with ease and they all soon learned to see intrigue hidden in even the kindest words. But Trillion was not of her people, and her golden eyes stared back at her with a genuine aura. It would be sometime before she would reveal her reasons for being her, but perhaps she had found her first ally in keeping the power of Melios and the dragons at bay.

"My thanks are offered to you," Selunine returned, "I accept your offer of healing. Though if there is a healer in the Holy City of Alimar, I would ask that you not waste your wand on me. If the city is nearby I can make it at the very least that far." She bent over to pick up the small dog wagging its tail behind her skirts. The animal had been her first ally in this new land, she would not leave it behind.

Returning her violet gaze to Trillion the faery spoke again, "There is nothing left here, save the ocean soaked wood, and the few blankets lost can be replaced. Let us leave this place soon, I have smelled the salt of the sea quite long enough."

Subject: An introduction

Selunine made her way through the rubble, her searching doing nothing much more than displacing broken wood from one pile to another. The puppy followed her every move, excited by each new piece of wood found, perhaps thinking they were playing some sort of fantastic game. Her patience with the search began to wear thin, and she began to entertain thoughts of unleashing something loud and destructive into the endless piles of broken wood. It would be a foolish thing to do, but certainly an accurate expression of her current state of mind. Selunine began to slow her search, and as she was about to move on to other affairs the small dog at her heels barked excitedly. Running of to a nearby pile of wood it began to dig, throwing sodden earth into the air behind it. An orb the size of a human fist falls away from the earth and Selunine moves to kneel beside the dog. Patting its head she picks up the orb, her violet eyes running along its smooth surface before she tucked it away in one of her hidden belt pouches. There would be plenty of time to study it later, it might well be a key to her returning to the towers of the misty isle.

"Well done my little friend," she said as she scratched the dog behind the ears. Returning to search the area yielded nothing, and she soon began to desire nothing more than to be rid of the smell of salt sodden wood. Standing she began to brush the particles of dirt from her unstained white robes, fey craftsmanship was a thing to be admired. It would be many years before she could even begin to find a way back. Urgency had pulled Selunine from her fey homeland, and she intended to see her will done. Until that day none could know the truth of her heritage or where she had come from, and she was thankful of the close resemblance of her people to the elves. To this mortal world she would be nothing more than a strange and all to beautiful elf woman. The secrets of the Aos Si would be kept.

The barking dog pulled her from her reverie, and her attentions were drawn to the rapidly approaching winged figure descending from the skies. Soon her keen eyes identified the figure as a woman, running a slender hand through her silver curls she awaited the flier's approach. A few rather nasty spells jumped into her mind, ready to be unleashed with a word and a gesture, wings on a humanoid figure told could herald a benign helper or a thing of true terror. Selunine lets the spell slip back into the recesses of her mind as the winged woman touches the ground. The other woman towered above her, with silver hair and kind golden eyes. Her wings remained in view for but a moment before flashing away, Looking up her own violet eyes met the woman's golden gaze, it would seem there would be others who held their heritage in secret.

"I am Trillion Starheart. Can I help you?" the other woman addressed her before looking about the wreckage in search of something. "Are the other survivors in need of assistance?"

"There are no other survivors," Selunine responded cooly, watching Trillion, that she had been the only passenger on the ship was not information she needed to share just yet. "I thank you for your offer, Trillion Starheart. I am Selunine Lhianna'anei. Is there a city nearby? I need the talents of a healer, and food and shelter would be a welcome addition." She stared up at Trillion again, studying her face as she awaited a response.
