Sapa slung the black leather uniform over her right shoulder and walked into her room to change. She removed clothing and jewelry, tossing her discarded clothing aside and placing her jewelry lovingly into a hide bag. Each ring, necklace, bracelet held a story and a memory. She held onto little sentiment anymore, but her jewelry was all she had left of family, friends, and lovers. Such was the way of things for her. It pained her to leave it behind.

Sighing she slipped into the costume, finding the material molded itself to her form and hugging every curve of her body. Running her hands along the sleek leather she sighed, then quickly turned and returned to the common room. The others were making themselves ready for this, their first trial together. Standing off to the side for a moment, she watched them and waited. The german was the first to depart the headquarters. Sapa hung back a moment before following him, little use in delaying what was any further.

"Today is a good day to die," she whispered the words of the prayer softly to herself as she made her way to the elevator. She stepped in, holding the door open, strange silver eyes staring back into the room. So it was to begin.

Selunine Lhianna'anei pressed a hand against the window and stared out into the swirling mists. Eldritch patterns of filtered light danced along the wild landscape. This land of magic and mist had been her home for centuries, its mystical rhythms permeating to the core of her being. From the austere towers of her people she had watched the ages pass. Her fey eyes had watched men rise to glory and fall in disgrace. She had peered into the souls of kings and beggars alike and watched as war raged across Shrie, splitting the continent and changing its face forever. Yet she like the rest of her people had remained unchanged, impassive eternal watchers. And now as temples to forgotten powers were raised she could watch no longer. The short lived peoples of Shrie had such passion and life to them, but they lacked foresight. There were some things that had been forgotten for a reason.

"Ssselunine," a whispering reptilian voice interrupted her reverie, a whispering reptilian voice that only she could understand. Selunine turned from the window and knelt to pick up the white viper before her, Lilu, her familiar. The silvery white snake wrapped itself gently around her forearm, its liquid black eyes staring at her as she caressed underneath its chin.

"Come Lilu," she spoke in soft silvery tones "we must make ready." The fey woman glided from the window, her white gossamer skirts whispered along the cool floor beneath her. She brushed a shining strand of silver hair from her face and made her way through the tower.

Sapa silently sipped her tea as she watched the others direct their questions to Angela. The woman managed to answer each question with as little information as possible, she had expected as such. During the week in this building precious little information had been volunteered. There were always other means of finding information.

Her eyes shot to the elevator as the two men carried a metallic chest into the living room and set it down before leaving just as quickly. Angela shortly followed them after explaining they were to neutralize Gibson Hall this very afternoon. She set her cup down on an adjacent table, then stood up and made her way to the chest of uniforms. Reaching in she lifted one of the black leather uniforms from the metal box and shook her head. Spirit did have a sense of humor.

Arhaedielle rose from the earth as the writhing plants ensnared the men in their embrace. One of their number seemed to run free of their grasp, though likely he would soon meet with Pyres steel. The young human appeared almost more alive as the fighting spun around them. The clarity and calm of the mind during combat brought to some a semblance of peace. That she understood, the predator within longed to run free into the thralls of melee.

Breath. Calm. Breath.

Pulling loose her sling and stone her eyes narrowed seeking a target. Two of the treekillers were ensnared by the twisting plants. Of the two, the man with the plumed helmet was already injured, having already felt the sting of one of Eldarwen's arrows. Hunters in the wild targeted the weakest of the herd first. Arhaedielle pulled back the sling and then released, the bullet flying towards the man with the plumed helmet. Her spell would not hold them forever, but she hoped a least they could take out one of them before they broke free.

She turned to Eldarwin and spoke in a language of wind, rain, and starlight; the ancient language of the elves, "El'ahthan linomeh Thalla Om'eni lali'uma nithei" (The plumed treekiller dies first)

Holding her left hand, Amhoset watched as the legionaries rushed from the tavern. She had felt the ribs of the man she struck snap with a satisfying ease. The preternatural vitality yet still coursed through her, and she let the tide of power ebb and pass away. Had the presence of the centurion not hastened their retreat the situation certainly would have escalated. Alcohol had clouded their wits with bravado, and they likely would have met the assault with one of their own. She did not doubt the outcome of three drunk men facing two Kindred, but how would one explain it away? A preference for shadow and subterfuge had grown in her, overt action, though necessary at times, left her with a feeling of distaste. The situation had been expelled, for the moment at least.

Her eyes wandered over to the other vampire, dark unreadable pools staring at him for but a moment. His invitation intrigued her. Hunting the secrets hiding in the shadows could wait for another night.

"I owe you both a debt of gratitude tonight." she spoke with a cool smoothness, a formal regal tone ever present in her voice. " I am Amhoset Nanu Irisi. It would please me greatly to join you in the drinking of wine."

Topic: Job Search Issues
Subject: Oh jobs

I appreciate the difficulties of finding a job during this economic climate. What is your field? Each field/industry has its own set of resources and networking spaces. Now is definitely the time to hit up all of your professional contacts, someone just may know someone who is looking for help (you're probably already doing that, but thought I should mention it).
I fully agree with Vorrioch, tailoring your CV for each job is incredibly helpful. Also, writing a really good cover letter is extremely important, in many ways the cover letter is the first interveiw (it may mean the difference of someone even looking at your resume or not). Research the company and the position you are seeking.
Have you tried temp agencies? They certainly aren't for everyone, but I know quite a few people who have been able to prolong their job search long enough to find the right position because they were temping. Other friends of mine have landed full time positions from their temp positions.
All the best of luck to you.

Sapa Holy Rain plucked a torn piece of paper from her cup of tea, she had foolishly been sitting near Copycat when she got her paws on the file. Closing her eyes for a moment she reached out with her mind, as she opened her eyes tendrils of thought twisted invisibly through the air brushing the torn papers into a dancing cyclone. Slowly the flitting papers floated into the air above Copycat. A quick smile drew across Sapa's face as she released the papers, letting them all fall right onto the feline female's head.

She sat back into the chair and lifted the cup of tea to her nose, breathing deeply its pungent sweetness. By most standards she was a beautiful woman, though nonchalant in her persona. She had long, straight black hair, which she almost always wore loose. Sleek black hair framed a youthful face with full lips, a sculpted nose, and almond shaped silver eyes. Her smooth reddish copper skin was unblemished, which she exposed liberally, anglo modesty was not thing she understood. She wore a tight thin white cotton tank and faded ripped jeans. Her bare feet tapped the floor glittering with the odd toe ring as she crossed and uncrossed her legs.

Returning her attention to the meeting at hand the Lakota woman regarded the suited blonde woman that stood at the rooms center. Angela Ross. So it seemed their services were finally being called on. She did not quite trust the situation, too little information was shared. Delta-Six they had been called; a team, a group and what bound them was not some ideological pact, but rather a secretive organization and a spoken promise of purpose. Yet Spirit had laid the path before her. She was here for a reason, one that would be revealed to her in good time.

I'll be happy however we decide on having met, but I have a preference for the clandestine event/wrong place at the right time idea.

Alright, I'm off to check out the Q&A thread.

BTW's
Senator McCarthy was a prominent figure of the Red Scare. He was eventually censured by the Senate for his unsubstantiated accusations of communism (he had a tendency to accuse political opponents of communist allegiances).

Question. Now just where is this Metro City?
Thanks for the world history, I'll start working on updating the char background. And speaking of, Sapa is Lakota, born and raised on the reservation. Considering the many atrocities the American government committed against the Native American peoples, it would be the most extreme of unlikelihoods that Sapa would work for the American government (not that she's to destroy America, she just doesn't have much trust for the countries govt). That's why I'm for not having the permit (that and I'm a contentious curmudgeon).

How are we all viewing the idea of good and evil? Is it black and white or a spectrum of gray? Who decides what is good and what is evil?

How did we all meet and form a group? Was there some clandestine event that bound us together? Do we have a common ally that keeps us together? A common goal? Are we vigilantes who stop thieves from robbing banks or do we have some more ideological goal?

As to the government and structure of world power... The government already persecuted the supers (by the by, who had the pleasure of getting rid of Sen McCarthy?), will they do it again? Is the government benign, malignant, or something in between? Is there some secret world organization that is really pulling the strings of power?

Just some thoughts, what do you all think?

And in the spirit of us figuring the group out I'll going to share a brief char concept:

Spirit Dancer (Sapa Holy Rain) is of the Lakota Nation, born and raised on the reservation at Pine Ridge. She was raised to follow the Medicine Path and is something of a shaman. Her powers are psychic in nature.

(forgive me the rambling...)

Oh well.
I'd love to see the history write up when it's available, would definitely be helpful in finalizing my character history.

What are everyone's priorities for an HQ? I'm pretty flexible, though a living space and concealment speak the most to me. Anybody else?
