Is there a place that our character sheets are posted? I honestly don't remember what differences there are between normal halflings and the Raslan... or what equipment I have... and some other things about the character...

I want to toss a light source to Celeste... but I don't know what I have, or if I have low-light vision or anything... the stealthy member of the group may be completely useless underground.

As the wizard binds the wounds of his new comrade, Hieronymus takes to the cliff face in search of a path forward.

He studies the walls of stone before him as the clouds begin to roll in, darkening the skies and blocking the soft light of the moons. By the time the first stroke of lightning flashes across the sky he is beginning to give up hope. It is at that moment that he spots something... all the way at the end of one of the ledges is something that looks out of place. A hole in the side of the cliff that looks a bit too well formed to be natural.

Clinging tightly to the cliff face, and balancing on the ever narrowing ledge he approaches the end. Sure enough, the hole seems to have been carved into the rock. As the frequent flashes of lightning testify to the ever growing intensity of the coming storm he notices a catch.

Strangely, as he studies it the scraping of stone can be heard on the cliff. Small pebbles tumble hundreds of feet to the ground below and the ledge itself shakes, threatening to cast the cleric back down from whence he came.... but his grip hold.

A minute later as the rain quickly mounts into a torrential downpour the flashes of lightning reveal a doorway into the mountain, and into the darkness below.

I apologize for the lack of update. Things are busier than normal. I'll get one up tomorrow sometime.

As Koriss works on the lock his head perks up as a thought strikes him.

Quickly he turns to the wondrous elf.

"I'm sorry my Lady. You might find a change of garb in this wardrobe over here. I'm sure you'd rather be wearing that than the clothes your captors left you."

My work week is just beginning... and a week of roller coastering trials is coming to a close.

In the morning, I will watch the sun rise over the river for no other reason than to know that beauty and miracles still exist in our world.

Gently, the halfling reaches in to take her hand and lead her out of the cage in which she was so cruely imprisoned, and past the red-haired behemoth.

After a moment he turns to her, speaking softly, almost regretfully.

"I'm sorry my Lady. We cannot guide you to the surface yet. We believe there are others down here help captive in situations not unlike your own. As such, as much as I would like to bring you to safety, we cannot. Our job is not yet done here." He pauses for a moment. "That being said, you are, of course, free to leave on your own." He points tot he way they came in. "That is the way out. I would warn you though that we fought some rather nasty fellows on our way here, and I am honestly uncertain if there are more out there. You are also free to accompany us if that is your wish. I, at least, will do my best to keep you safe pretty one."

He hold her gaze for a moment more before slipping his hand free and sliding silently over to the locked door near the wardrobe.

He begins examining it intently, his attention now wholely focused on the door before him.

(I am searching for traps. If I find none I will try my hand at the lock.)

Would I be correct in assuming that there is still the door opposite the one we entered through that has been left unexplored, or was that where we found the elf?

As far as game mechanics, the poison has run its course. You still might feel some residual effects from it but nothing that would affect the mechanics of the game.

As they move towards this club he'd never heard of, he focuses his attention on the PDA, and on unlocking its secrets.

“I’d rather you didn’t,” Katie replied with her hand extended out, “I trust you about as far as I can throw you, Danyael. I’d rather not have you jacking up our source of information for this city.”

"We all have our talents Fireeyes. Mine are not limited to the bedroom. Or would you rather wander around the city blind because we don't have some vital pieces of information that might be useful to us?"

Despite the remark, a smooth smile stayed on his face as he extended his hand for the PDA.

"I for one, want every piece of information available if we're going to be walking into a guarded warehouse belonging to a well-known enemy that has no issues putting each and every one of us in the ground. I would also like to point out that I effectively functioned as a moving target for more than one of those players, allowing you and others to come away with fewer injuries than you could have. Have I not yet earned enough to look at the PDA that was given to ALL of us?

One of the winged creatures had fallen. Its screams echo off of the cliff face as it plummets towards the ground. Two of the party members stood, transfixed by its death throes, and wanting to ensure that it was, in fact, dead. When the screams came to an abrupt stop, their question was answered.

Meanwhile, Raina and Heironymus focused their attentions on the last remaining threat.

”I will not die at the mercy of this flying iguana!"

She stabbed hard with her sword as poison coursed through her veins. She felt its sharp tip pierce the hardened scales of the wyvern and slide deep into its body. It's laughing calls became shrill shrieks of pain. Then the creature went silent... and limp. Raina was strangely calm, given that she now fell from the sky from several hundred feet in the air. The wyvern flipped over, its back to the ground as it fell. Time seems to slow as Raina pulled her sword free, now almost standing on the dead beast, the ground hurtling toward her, promising a quick and painless death. She looked back at the ledge, he eyes meeting those of the cleric.

Heironymus saw the danger, and quickly shifted his target, throwing the rope to the rogue with as much strength as he could muster. He leaned pack, preparing for her weight, and praying that his attempts were not in vain.

Raina jumped towards the flying rope, grabbing firmly on with one hand. She swung hard into the cliff face, but managed to get her feet against it quickly. Slowly, in pain because of the posion spreading through her, she began to climb, even as Hieronymus began to pull her up.

Summary:
Raina stabbed the wyvern in the heart, killing it.
Heironymus threw the rope he made lasso out of, trying to catch her as she fell.
Raina successfully grabbed the rope (good roll by the way) and slammed into the cliff face for 1 point of damage before getting her feet under her.

Raina has made her first save against the poison. I've already rolled and her next save will succeed as well, though the Con damage and the pain of it will remain.

(OOC: You are safe for the moment. Raina will reach the top without further incident. Upon looking around, you see no further easy (relatively) path to climb. The cliff face is completely vertical for some distance, with minimal handholds. You do notice that this ledge, besides being a bit bigger than the one below, has small offshoots that go along the cliff face for 20' in either direction.)

Well done with the wyverns by the way.

and any others who have been affected by the storms of late. We had a nasty one go through here last night. tornado sightings but to my knowledge nothing touched down... thankfully.

To all those who have known loss these past weeks, remember this:

The nights have been dark and frightening. Despair has taken hold of many. Torturous loss will affect them and more for many days and months to come.

But the sun always rises. The darkness will fade, the whisps of frightening shadow will evaporate with the light of a new day. You are still here. And you are not alone.

Sorry... brief moment of philosophical inspiration...

I've been at work for an hour and a half already... IT'S 7 AM!!! ugh...

Well, since I don't have access to my laptop today, I suppose I'll be working on my Watchers & Guardians stuff as I get the opportunity.

Yes Skye... you can look at it as soon as I get the chance to get it all typed out and get some more of the information out of my head.

Beyond that, another 12 day at work... yeah...

I don't have HBO, but I've read the enitre series that he has actually finished. Honestly I hold a bit of a grudge against the series. Primarily because he promised his fans that the next book would be out 2 years ago. It isn't... mostly due to his work on the HBO series.

Don't get me wrong I love the book. And I've even noticed a bit of George R.R. Martin's influence in my chapter layouts for the novel I'm writing. Just... a bit upset at the author himself is all.

The sly grin stays plastered on his face for a minute more. Then with a clearing of his throat he redirects his attention to the options at hand.

"Well done. At the very least we reduced the capability of another potentially criminal group. But, despite fear for my life, I must admit it was just a little bit fun." A slight smirk appears on his face.

"Now, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems we have two warehouse choices right? Katie, do you mind if I take a look at the PDA for a minute?"

(Assuming she gives it to him...)

He looks at it for a minute or two, taking note of the warehouse locations and anything around it.

"I would say we go with this one first." he says, selecting one of the two sites.

Danyael looks around for Percy's icecream truck, finding it (assumably) he motions everyone towards it. "I have an idea about how we get in. We can hammer out the details on the way."

Danyael turns to the fiery red head. "I'd like to hang on to the PDA for the time being if that's alright. I'm a bit curious about these "access Denied" messages. Perhaps I can do smething about that." He makes a point to restrain his normal comments for the time being.

Once every has gotten in the truck and they are on they way he speaks again.

"Since out friend the Canadian cautioned us against a frontal assault, I suggest a different way. One of us will have to be a buyer or distributor." He looks around the room for a minute... "That would be me or Katie." He turns to her as he continues. "No offense intended, as I'm sure to lose a filling if it were, but your temperment is not very well suited for a deal like this. Though your obvious feminine charms may be helpful... if you choose to use them of course." The sly grin seen so often by the group when he speaks to Katie appears for only a moment before being masked once again.

"The rest of you should do what you do best. Intimidate them and freak them out a bit. Percy, you should be particularly good at that last part I think. What do you guys think?"

After waiting a moment and listening to responses he goes to work on the PDA, attempting to crack any and all access he can and get as much information out of the thing as possible.

My life has been thrown into full speed. Unfortunately I am only able to maintain running one game at this point.

Since Ayrn's departure I've decided to put this game on hiatus for the time being. Should life slow down a bit after GenCon in august I will be sending you each a PM to see if you want to continue the game or not at that time. We'll go from there.

Sorry guys.

The halfling marvelled over his new gloves for a moment before he heard the behemoth of a man mumble something elsewhere int he room.

Is he trying to comfort someone? Great. That's just what we need, a giant of a man trying to comfort a refugee...

The halfling made his way around the crates and barrels to see what was going on... and then he saw her.

"Hey! Back away you big brute. You're scaring her!"

He hadn't meant to be that loud, but the words came out in a tone closer to a scolding shout than his normally passive demeanor.

He too approached the woman, trying his best not to make any threatening moves.

"It's alright my Lady. We have not come to harm you." He looks back at the others, ensuring they stay a short distance away from the woman as she cowers in the shadows.

"Can you stand?"

(OOC: He will attempt to guide her out of the cage and get her bits of food from whatever stocks are eatible. He also wants to know who she is, where she comes from and any other information he can gently get out of her.)

So I should step up and be a buyer huh?

I would suggest that Katie pretend to be my assistant or something.

The big guys would be my bodyguards, because no buyer in their right mind would come without guards.

If everyone is okay with those roles, let's run with it.
