Subject: Answers.

The symbols are etched into the breast of their armor, so to take them with you you would have to take the leather breast piece.

As far as injuries:
Marga - 8
Virif - 3
Allyn - 3
Kyara 3

Apparently my damage dice really like 3's...

And yes, you'll have to decide what spells you convert.

Of the caravan guards: There were 3 plus the PCs. One was slain (Harl), the other two dissappeared at some unknown point, leaving the PCs and the merchant.

You are closer to Maruk than you are to the border of the Illurian Empire, so it could be safely assumed that if he chooses to move from this spot he would be more likely to head back than forward.

Subject: A choice...

A decision looms before Allyn. He is forced to choose between his daughter, and his livelihood.

"I must stay with my wagons." He decides after long minutes of thought and emotion. Tears appear in his eyes, showing the emotional tension behind the now calm facade. "If I lose my goods, then both my daughter and I would be destined for a life of poverty, one I couldn't force her into. I hope you do not think less of me." He bows his head, almost in shame, and walks slowly back to the lead wagon to sit sulking in the drivers bench.

(A detailed search of the brigands yields the following:
1) 18 gold pieces total
2) Each wears well-crafted (but not quite masterwork) leather armor.
3) Each carries a similar quality longsword.
4) The symbol is that of a pyramid with a circle around it.
5) They are dark-skinned elves with eyes of blue, purple and yellow)

(Virif, your search of the area where the body was found yields little except a few small branches that seem freshly broken lying on the ground.)

They are difficult to make out. You think they are both coming from and going to the tree, but you can't be certain (13 survival check).

I think I'm pretty much the only one in the area with minis (that I know anyway) so I don' get to play the war games very much. I do make extensive use of them in tabletop play though. Them in addition to Tac-Tiles make for some great scenes and battles.

Subject: The Watcher

When the call goes out to flee to the basement the Watcher looks casually at the dragon descending from the sky, then to the others in the area.

Without a word he descends the staircase and follows Mivara into the darkness.

The constant scratching of quill on parchment accompanies him as he walks through the dark, writing in his book and never glancing up even when the group turns corners, yet somehow managing not to run into anything or anyone. His body heat has returned so he has become clearly visible to those who can see such things.

When the group reaches the ladder he makes a final notation in the book and closes it once again. His book simply ceases to be. The Watcher then glances around and up, then gives Mivara a questioning glance, as if to ask "What's next?" without saying a word.

Subject: I'm in.

Sounds like fun. I will fill whatever role desired. I can be a student or staff, whatever our headmaster believes me worthy of. For now though, I'm putting together a student persona unless Meri tells me otherwise. Also, if nothing else, this school will give potential games a pool of players to pull from as well as a learning experience. I really like the idea.

Subject: My favorite

My favorite victory was defeating an Aspect of Moradin. I blocked him in a narrow space with a ghost (I can't remember which one) and he kept missing because of the incorporeal trait. Meanwhile I had a yaun-ti sorceress behind the ghost pelting the Aspect with magic missiles every round until he finally died. More luck than skill, but it worked.

Subject: I have played

I enjoyed playing the miniatures game, though nowadays I use them much more for tabletop (even the 4.0 sets are good for this). I still buy them every once in a while for this purpose. I did enjoy the strategy of building the warbands to defeat others, but I always had to have some logical way that the warband was formed. I wouldn't, for instance, combine vampires and troglodytes unless I could come up with a reason. That's just my opinion. Otherwise it's just points and abilities really.

Subject: Drow...

One other thing to keep in mind. The Drow are not the only dark-skinned elves in my world. There are also the Valshari. They are drow descended (basically) elves that have been beyond the radiations of underdark for generations. They are relatively common to the west. Those who have been taught be people who might be familiar with Illuria would have been told that Valshari (among a large number of other races) are rather prominent in that area. Those that have no reason to be familiar with the Illurian Empire, may or may not have ever even heard of them.

And yes, Drow do exist as well.

She twists and twirls with bouncing curls
gracefully through the night.
One moment she's there, the next she's gone
dancing at the edge of sight.
The moon rides high and more join in.
A wild dance has begun.
They jump and flutter, flip and twirl
throughout their night of fun.
The sun rises, the dancers flee
fearing destruction from the light.
Yet always they lie waiting, hidden
for another moonlit night.

Topic: Mivara's Delirium
Subject: Counting fates pawns

The Watcher points at each person in turn for a moment as if counting before returning to writing in his book.

When the dragon appears high above, a large grin instantly shows on his face. He scribes down a bit more and then closes the book, making it vanish as he does so.

That being done he stands slowly, stretching his legs and looks up once more, his analytical mind piecing together all of the actions that have occurred in the last few minutes. The Strands of Fate are in this, that much he is certain. But even his Watcher's eyes cannot discern how these people and the creature above are tied together. Strange... never before has Fate seemed so cloudy to him. The eyes granted to him by the Ritual should have allowed him to easily see the interwoven destinies of all involved. Confusion and interest show clearly on his face as he backs slowly into a corner of the ruined inn, beginning to feel the first tingles of dragon fear, but showing little, as of yet, of its effects.

The only strange thing that tracking showed was the pair of footprints near one of the trees. Beyond that and the shuffle of footprints leading to the scene nothing notable.

By looking to the trees you (Heironymus) do notice a few small broken branches about 10' up.

There is a difference between day and night. Generally speaking, the white moon is only up during the "day" thus there will be even less light available. Also, the red moon is on a monthly cycle, you are about 1 week into the month, which means the red moon (which lycanthropes are attuned to) will start rising any day now and stay in the sky for about 2 weeks.

Current time is late afternoon.

A search of the brigands (which are the bodies I am assuming you are referring to)shows little. The only thing of significance that you find on them (other than a total of about 18 gold pieces) is a symbol on the breast of each set of armor. It seems the same effect that disguised them as humans also masked this symbol. It is not a symbol any of you (the characters) recognize.

Also Ion, be aware that should you force the merchant to travel with you against his will you risk being charged with kidnapping should you return to any of the cities that may get wind of it (particularly if he tells them he was kidnapped). Not that the merchant's directions are necessarily going to lead to that, but just a friendly warning.

I think I answered everything. Let me know if I missed something.

(There were tracks leading to that point, near the body tracks have been masked by the body itself and other movement. There is no sign of tracks leaving the area. Oddly, you do notice a single pair of footprints at the base of one of the taller trees.)

The group returns to the road, finding the caravan wagons in much the same condition as they were when they left. Allyn is on you in an instant.

"Where is my daughter? Did you find her? What happened? Where is she?"

After the barrage of questions he seems to finally notice Raif carrying the dead form of Harl.

"She's not..., no she can't be... she's not... dead... is she?"

Tears begin to well up in his eyes as he asks this final question.

The last wagon is still partially collapsed on its broken wheel, and the other wagons seem untouched, save for a few arrow shafts sprouting out of their sides. Aryn has dragged the bodies of the three dead brigands together on the side of the road while he was awaiting your return. They appear a bit different from what you remember. No longer do they appear as humans. Their elongated ears and almost ageless features share more with an elf than a human, though the dark skin they all share seems a bit unfamiliar...

Topic: Mivara's Delirium
Subject: Odd.

The Watcher merely nods to the dark-skinned elf known as Rethia and offers a sad smile before stepping into the inn. The floor boards creak beneath his weight as he walks of over to a corner of the room and slowly sits, cross-legged, on the floor. After a moment of focus he reaches his hand into nothingness and pulls forth a large, ornately bound book which he promptly sets on his lap, opens and begins to write.

The Watcher glances around constantly at each of the players in this affair, his gaze seeming to penetrate the here and now and see back into the past and perhaps in to their very existence.

Recognition flashes in the eyes of the Watcher. After a moment he slowly moves his hand up and places two fingers on the inside of the huntresses wrist. Gently he attempts to push her hand holding the blade away from his neck.

Also, I've established a fan page for the Realms of Twilight on Facebook. I'm trying to build up a fan base for it in order to help sell the Campaign Setting book when it comes out. Anyone who is willing, I would very much appreciate it if those on facebook would become fans. I'm writing this from work so I don't have a link... sorry. But if you search for Realms of Twilight it will come up.

Thanks all,

Topic: Realms of Twilight - A Journey Begins / Q&A
Subject: A few answers

1) There were arrows coming from both sides of the road. However those coming from the south stopped firing well before the north.

2) The illusions you've seen thus far have effected at least visual and audio senses. No one actually interacted with the other suspected illusions or had any reason to suspect them until after they were dispelled by the caster.

3) The dead guard (Harl) has been extensively interacted with and can be verified to be real and not iillusory.

4) No one in the group has had particular experience with illusions before, but your Knowledge Arcana can tell you that whomever is casting them is very skilled as they are relatively complex in nature and would likely require significant focus to maintain.

5) The illusion that encompassed you when you ran into the woods dulled the light as well as created the shadows, it also muffled the sounds so it was difficult to discern normal noise and the location of even your friend's voice.
