Subject: I understand

(OOC Conquest, I can see your point, yet your post describes a shaft of light from the door in a place that, to my knowledge is still completely dark. It is assumptions like that that I am questioning. I don't mean to be disrespectful, as both of us have never done the freeform thing before, I'm just trying to establish what we can and cannot assume/make up about our situation and each other, that's all.)

Subject: I must admit

(This is my first freeform, but I must admit it is curious how everyone seems to know where we all are. I saw the drow because she hadn't noticed me yet, but there was the assumption that I wouldn't have seen her coming despite looking straight at her. Also, with one person who hasn't actually entered the in yet, and another who is specifically trained to e silent, neither of which are carrying a light source and the only words were a whisper some distance from the door... you see where I'm going with this? Do we have rules about assuming things about other characters actions or any rules whatsoever? Again, this is new to me so if I'm out of line just tell me so. Thanks.)

Topic: Silver Crescent Publishing
Subject: Silver Crescent Publishing

Hey everyone. I just wanted to give an update on my published works (or work as it is thus far). As some of you know I created a publishing company called Silver Crescent Publishing in order to publish my own Realms of Twilight campaign setting. I've also been asked to create a series of eBooks that help GMs turn legends into campaigns. The first of these ebooks is done and released (available at www.dungeonmastering.com and www.paizo.com under downloads/Silver Crescent Publishing).

Finally, I got an email saying I sold a copy of the eBook. (and there was much rejoicing). I'm not sure how many people care, but I know I'm excited. If nothing else it means I am officially a published author in the eyes of the IRS so all of the money I've spent on artwork and such is now tax deductible. YEAH!

Anyway, If you guys have any questions about the company, the Realms of Twilight world, the eBooks, or just general questions about getting your stuff published or how to get a hold of Silver Crescent stuff, don't hesitate to ask. Either drop me a PM or post here. I'd be more than happy to at least point people in the right direction.

Thanks for letting me take up a bit of your time with my randomness. Good gaming and have a nice day!

I will put it as shimply as I can. They don't. Were you drunk when ya shaw one last? That might exshplain what ya shaw. A little too much of the saush *hic* might do that to ya.

Dear Ogre,
Which game system do you think will be more successful, Pathfinder by Paizo publishing, or 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons by Wizards of the Coast?

A slow smile spread on the stranger's face but he said nothing. He had watched her approach, and expected just what was happening. With slow, deliberate movements he pulled part of his tunic aside revealing a tattoo.

The tattoo resembled an eye, though its pupil was an open book instead of what one would expect. He was a Watcher, an observer sworn not to interfere with the course of events, but instead observe, learn and record their passing. Such a person would be little threat to a skilled and armed dark elven ranger.

Still he remained silent.

Beneath her skilled gaze the dark elf must have realized that the Watcher was completely without a weapon, nor did he wear any semblance of armor. He seemed lost, almost helpless in the dark forest in the middle of the night. Honestly, it is probably a surprise that some other predator hasn't already ended his seemingly pitiful existence.

With slow movement he nodded to the doorway the elf had just cleared and shot her a questioning look.

Subject: Watching... waiting...

A scream shattered the silence of the night. Nearby a man was on a journey. His teacher had told him to come this way, through the forest. He said his future awaited him here. Confused and utterly lost he walked through the forest.

The scream brought his senses to their most alert. After only a moment of trying to determine the direction of the sound he bolted off through the underbrush. When he saw the ruins of an old building he stopped, and slowed his approach. He moved up to what remained of the door and peared in.

"A dark elf!" he thought, and immediately he considered his options. Her kind were known for their cruelty. It is even possible the she herself was the cause of the scream... yet she seemed to be removing a large log that was blocking a door. Perhaps a bit more observation may reveal what I have yet to see.

Without a word he crouched in the doorway unnoticed as the elf focused on what she was doing. Knowing, though, that elves could detect the heat of one's body, Shrace fell into his inner focus. He had learned this long ago. Slowly he reduced his body temperature, to make him invisible to the heat senseing eyes of the dark elf. He could only hope he reached a point close enought to the forest around him to succeed before she finished with the log. While Shrace could maintain his body temperature like this for hours, getting it there took some time to complete.

As he willed himself colder, he watched... and listened... letting the scene unfold before him.

Subject: At this point...

I'm going to give you guys some time to discuss the circumstances among yourselves and find out what information others may know, in character or ooc. One you've decided on a course of action, let me know and I'll continue with the updates. At the latest I want to do my update next Saturday, but if everyone is ready to go on before that then great. Likely the discussion will only take a matter of minutes in game time, and I will answer any questions in game that you would be able to find the answers to (with successful skill checks and all) throughout the discussion/discovery. Alright?

The three of you slowly pick your way through the underbrush and passed the trees to the clearing beyond.

You see Raif crouched down beside the motionless form of Harl. His eyes are wide, as if in shock, staring unseeing into the starlit sky above.

At first glance there doesn't seem to be any sign of a struggle, or what happened to Harl. His longsword and dagger are in their sheaths at his sides, and his armor and clothing appear completley undamaged.

Marga is meandering about, sniffing the ground seemingly in search of a particular scent, but not having much luck thus far.

If you guys all post early, I can give the update early. I only set Tuesday and Saturday as deadlines. And I do understand if real life takes precedence, but if you think you won't be able to post, a quick PM or something would be appreciated. Also, if for whatever reason people don't post, would you guys prefer I make something up for you to do or keep you inactive?

Subject: Clarity

Virif lashes out at Heironymus with his stone fist... but Heironymus dodges aside just in time, the dwarf's rock hard hand catching in his clothes for a second.

In that moment Virif seems to find clarity. The shadows that seemed to threaten him slowly fade from existence, leaving only his allies behind.

You all see Raif glance at the attacking dwarf and sprint on past, following his hound beyond a line of trees and through a patch of thick underbrush that seems to waver around him as he moves through it.

Kyara arrives on the scene moments later, spotting the tracks of a pair of humanoids passing through the area, and into the underbrush the direction Raif just went. Glancing up into the trees she sees nothing but darkness and the soft light of the two risen moons shining down among the branches.

Any idea about when the game is going to begin? i know we have to wait for a few of the other players who only recently discovered they would be playing (particularly if Baron can join us). But I was just curious... and anxious.

For those who know me, you know I am usually toting about my soon to be published world. It's set up for Pathfinder, and I have a character sheet that I plan to include in my book if you want it. It has the Realms of Twilight logo on it, but other than that it should be pretty universal for Pathfinder. Let me know if you want it once you get things back up and running.

Subject: A quiet walk in the woods

Each of you enter the woods at a different place. Little undergrowth impedes you way, but all the same Raif reaches the dwarf first. Not to far behind are Kyara and the cleric.

You see the Virif with his shield on his back, and a fist made of stone. His eyes dart about suspiciously, looking at you but not seeming to see you, then looking away at something else only to glance back again. His stone fist is raised threateningly.

Marga sniffs the air and growls, tense about something unknown. After a moment she runs off past the dwarf into the darkness. A few moments later you can hear her barkin, signaling a find of some sort.

(Moondancer is not present when the dwarf is encountered)

Venerable age? Doesn't that mean a human, for instance, would be 70 years old? At that point, How viable is it really to have any physical class? And why would they want to escape the relative safety of the orison at that point into a world they no longer know or understand? I'm not asking to be obnoxious or anything, just a few pieces of logic that aren't synching up in my head.

Also, how do you want us to send characters to you? Post? PM? Email?

What sort of relationships are possible between the characters? Do we even know each other? It sounds like this prison is a big place, so I'm not sure if we would or not.

If you still need players I'm all for it. I was hoping for a psion since I haven't done that before, but since Ion has taken that I'll likely got more towards a rogue if that is acceptable.
