Looking at Julie Farkas, his attention barely able to keep focus as the ruckus inside the Follower's camp was quite distracting, he smiled and nodded.

" Why yes ma'am, that'd be me, Gus. I've always loved this place and what you fellows been doin', and I'd be glad tah' help anyway I can. Plus, makin' a few caps is always somethin' tah' look forward too."

He kept his hands in the pockets of his tight fitting suspenders, and rocked slightly back and forth as he spoke.

"So, what's with all the calamity 'round here? Hope nothin' too big happened 'round here, don't wanna see many people hurtin' 'n all."

If it's ok to wait, I"ll post on sat/sun as right now my classes are overwhelming me. I have to have "Hard times" by Dickens read by tomorrow, and I have to read a few chapters for a philosophy test, also worry about some paper work issues and potential suspension :X

Did not forget, just getting my foot in the door at this college is pretty damn hard at the moment.

GRUGG'S UNARMED ATTACKS MAY CAUSE DISMEMBERMENT

Gus woke in the morning with a stretch, the gritty light coming through a small window layered with dust. The 'Seventh Bullet' was a small hole in the wall place, but it was still in business and the same man has owned it for ever so something is going right.

He walked out of his room strapping up his tight fitting overalls and smiled at Pyke while he headed to the bathroom.
Striking up a conversation on the way, Pyke mentioned something about the Old Mormon Fort.

"Hey, not ten minutes ago a message came for you. Some youth from the Followers left a message from Julie Farkas. Wanted to thank you for the supplies you sold them from your last haul, and offered a job. Something about striking a deal with the Crimson Caravan Company. Sounds like a way to make caps easier than prospecting, if you ask me..."

Gus stopped for a minute, and drew his hand to his chin rubbing his stubble.

"Ah, well that there sounds dandy. I'll make a trip right over as soon as ah' get me somethin' ta' eat. First thing though, I gotta' freshen up."

Freshening up as much as he could in the bathroom, he came out and sat at Pyke's bar, ordering a quick something to eat, not really caring what it was as long as it filled him up.

Over his meal, Gus thanked Pyke once again for the message and meal, paid his way and left four caps in a tip jar that was on the counter.

Gus was once again on the move, going through Freeside as easily as if he was a native. He had been through here more than he could remember, and the fort was something that you couldn't easily miss. Stepping over downed poles, piles of rubble and dodging dirty children he always kept his hand in a pocket near his 10 mm pistol just in case any thugs thought they could get wise. By now though, most beggars and thugs at least knew his face and his business around town, so they didn't jump him... as much.

Gus stepped up to the gates of the Fort, and gladly handed over his weapons to the familiar faces as he did so many times before, and entered in, hoping to hear from familiar voices with good news ringing. A deal with the biggest caravaning company in the west could give him enough caps to maybe even start back up in his old ways, and make it back out to California.

Traubon lay on his back, and slowly sat up with his legs loosely crossed. He had listened to everyones suggestions and felt that both of them had some slight problems. Slowly moving as to not make his aching shoulder hurt any more, he positioned himself to face the group.

"Ta'nil, we canna' fight that beast like we are. Geron's hurt, I'm hurt, poor little Aly is shaken to dah' bone, and everyone else seems tah' be too lost in their minds right now to fight."

He looked over at Aly, and felt sorry for her. He had felt a little worried about her coming to help fight, and even though she was safe and sound, he couldn't help but worry about how she would be after seeing and experiencing something like this. He hoped she had enough will to pull together and not have this traumatize her.

"Aly, my friend. I feel our brief fight with dah' beast came out better then expected, no ones dead, and this?" He gestured with with his head to his shoulder. "I'll sleep it off. But I'll still be glad to have you take a look, I know Helena had taught you well. One thought troubles the mind about both your plans, the sun lay low in the sky and it be night soon. If we try tah' fight, then we fight and track in dah' dark. If we go back, well, I know I wouldn't wanna' get jumped by that mother ah' beasts while hikin' back home, and by all the braids in me fathers' beard, bless his soul, I know she be' lookin' for a fight."

Traubon stood up, with help of his halberd, and started to look around. "So, I say we make camp and rest up as much as we can, a roaring fire might shake that beasties will tah fight us, and the night will be kept back just as well." He looked around, and suddenly looked down to his own chest. " Apparently, I'm as hungry as whole team ah' mules! What I wouldn't give for some good ol' mutton right now..." He chuckled heartily smiling to the group, but then coughed and winced as his shoulders shook with every almost brutal cough. He leaned heavily on his halberd, keeping his balance from almost falling over.

"So, how 'bout we get 'ways from here" His coughing picked up and shook him two more times. "...and rest up?" He gave a weak smile as he spoke, trying to keep his compusure but his reliance on his halberd seemed more than it should be.

But if I had to respond to a fear effect, I would fully embrace the fact that my character had a moment where he was truly scared, and would run. I would RP his feelings on the threat at hand, and how he felt fear overcoming him and how it shook him to his core that he thought he was going to die. Then I would post about how slowly I over came that and rationalized that it was only an animal, that could die, and that if I pushed my self I could make it feel the same fear and I would be the cause.

Then, I would run back, hopefully try to gather the group and then start Rping with everyone on our next course of action.

Traubon trembled at the sight of the monsters flesh peeling back from its skull. He looked back and forth and saw his companions flee in terror, and it took every ounce of resolve to keep himself from fleeing in terror. But someone needed to hold the lines, and if his late father would see him flee from his great perch on the tallest mountain, then a stain would forever be on his soul. So Traubon held, and soon enough it was only him and Geron left.

Together, they attacked the beast in a two pronged fight that lasted only a few seconds, but to Traubon it felt like ages. Quickly he struck out to pierce the beasts hide, but he only trimmed fur and on a return attack, the animal sunk its fangs deep into his shoulder.

Pain shot through Traubons body as leather, flesh and bone were all crushed under the strength of powerful jaws. He felt like collapsing now and ending it, conceding the fight. But to do that would be to concede his life and his time was only just beginning. Images of the holds and halls of back home flashed through his mind and quickly he found the strength to regain control of his body, and find the leather grips of his weapon.

He would of surely died if it wasn't for Geron who slashed out at the beast and defended him, stopping the animal from tearing any more flesh. The older man seemed to tire out though as his age and wounds began to show.

Traubon knew this fight couldn't go on much longer, as one man with the skills of war but not the youth of years past, and himself with stumps being his only opponent before this. It needed to end now, and he hefted it high hoping gravity and weight would compensate for the lost force from the wound. His attack hit home and worked as the axe head bit deep and drew blood, seeming too much for the beast and panicking it away.

As it fled, Traubons vision tunnel visioned as he dropped to his knees and let his halberd fall to the ground. He grit his teeth as the pain took hold, the adrenaline fading.

"Ah, dah' damned beast didn't wanna' stick 'round for a proper end it seems... musta' know who was gonna win... 'eh Geron?"

He looked up to the older man and squeaked out a faint chuckle, and then laid down abruptly letting his body relax.
His first combat and he now lay half dead on the ground, but that only meant that in the end, he was alive and his enemy, bested.

Wow didn't even realize the update was up, I've been busy with my new semester at college and other things that my Rdinn visits are lacking. I'm more than happy to keep it going, as long as everyone else is.

I Know I had promised an update, but recently I've had to travel up and down from college and home for blood work and medical trips, car troubles draining my bank account -.-, and on top of that a TON of reading/homework that I need to get done. It's like a stupid amount of reading I have to do right now so my time is strapped at the moment to update, I might have to put a slight pause on the game until I'm caught up with my financial problems and homework that i'm behind on, sorry everyone >.<

P.S.

The game isn't dead, it's just, a lull right now as I try to juggle a bazillion things at once :p

After the battle with a pup, Traubon griped the entire time silently to himself about how he shouldn’t even be on this hunt.

Didn’t even hit it once, to slow to move while everyone else jumped into action. Justa’ slow Khord who only moves faster than the stone that he works…

Beating himself up silently he moved onwards with everyone else, he went through the motions of walking while his mind wandered off thinking about things he could of done and how everyone else was probably a better warrior than him, how these young human lads seemed to move with more skill than he could. They probably sparred and trained one on one, while all Traubon has done was read his father’s books and hit stumps with his halberd.

After a while of walking and tracking even Traubon noticed the sun started to set beyond the mountains of the west, bringing in the dark of night slowly after it. He hoped they would find this thing soon or they would most certainly be tracking back in the dark, or spending the night in the woods, and he didn’t bring his sleeping roll with him.

Luckily for Traubon, they ended up finding the mother beast sooner than later. A grizzly scene of blood and bone lay around the mother beast, resting in a nest with a large fallen pine behind it. Strands of meat and grizzle flowed from its mouth as it ate, and when the group suddenly interrupted its snack, it stopped and stood growling directly at them.

Well, ‘ere we go I guess, time to do somethin’ this time around…

Traubon gripped the leather hand holds on the haft of his halberd, and watched as other started to try and go out wide flanking it or getting behind it. He knew someone had to take up the attack in its front for anything like that to work, so breathing deep and exhaling through his nose, he charged in directly in front of it halberd set for its chest and throat, hoping to puncture deep and end this soon.

“Aye! ‘Ere we go lads, make this beast fall as hard as a granite slab!”

(Ok, so I'm charging head long to set up the flanks for everyone else, but i'm not using the "CHARGE" mechanic, don't want my ac any lower than it is :p)

I'm hoping too, but I have a piece of news. Chessic will no longer be playing with us. We've discussed it together VIA PM, and he has very good reasons as to leave the game. My decision is that for now, I will NPC Uryuu until I find a suitable spot to drop the character, and then a spot will open up for a person.

Also if Dark Autumn does not post soonish, I'll update Thursday night.

How often are players required to post? it sounds like you want to move the plot along very fast, since each act is weekly. Most people around here are used to Dm upates only once a week twice at most usually. Also Doing combat in chat is a good idea but a problem is always getting everyone together. what happens if someone is ever able to show up in chat for combat? (i.e. they live in Europe while someone else might live on west coast USA)

thanks :p, it's fun playing Khords, so I'm really enjoying this game. And I say let's bring this damned creature down asap, I think this might be the first confirmed kill it had, at least for the people of stone's hollow, so lets not let it take any more people, also Aly I think your the only one with any sort of healing possible for Geron right now >.<
