aw crap, what should we do now? I'm fatigued and can't really prove effective for the next few rounds. I'm getting that there are only four wolves left, out of ten including coo-shee wolf. We've killed a lot of them and now I'm not sure what we should do. press on or run?

There they were, standing in a large open field, waiting for the enemy to come to them. It seemed almost like the battles of long past that Loda used to hear of, two armies standing face to face, ready to fight. There was definately one army here, but then there was them. A lonely group of heros waiting for what was to come over this hill. Should they hide or stand their ground? They knew there were about ten little goblins; hopefully just enough to put up a fight. But then the ogre stood above them, urging them on. He would be a problem. She stood to watch her comrades and what they would do, then she decided upon their actions.

Loda began to cast her druidic spells upon herself, first making her skin as hard and resilient as the bark of a tree, (1st R) then casting the spell upon herself in which makes her as strong as a bull ( 2nd R) Then summing forth a magical ball of flames that she could willingly throw at any enemy within range. ( 3rd R) Then last she cast a spell to summon to her side wolves that would help them fight these enemies.( 4th R)

( will cast bark skin, then bull strength, then flaming sphere, then summon natures ally II, and summing 1d3 wolves)

Biensel kept on playing, but heard his sisters pleas for help. He nodded along with her, agreeing with what she was saying. He looked to the crowd, while strumming his lute.

" Yes, help us as much as you can. Listen to her speak and please do as she says!"

Biensel kept on playing, a fast paced tune to hopefully motivate the people to do what they can, but also inspire his brethren to do as much as they could. He had no idea if his musical magic would work under water or not. He could only hope so.

(( will keep on doing what he does best. Play.))

Well, I don't want to give up on it either. I know I don't have the best track record for posting in the inn but I do still want to play. I am getting my own computer tomorrow so hopefully that will give me a boost in posting times.

I think a few of those songs fit a few of the PC's just perfect... I especially like Bart's, his is quite fitting for him. A farmer brought out to see all of this war and gore right after the civil war was ended. everyone THINKS the lands are quite civil, but they aren't.

Oh and I was going to say, I think I see a pattern.

A: Kill or maim foe with near or full dismemberment

B: Xaris gets hit with lightning.

has happened twice now, wonder if the pattern will keep up?

heh, woops. In my table top games we always play with max health, and I didn't realize that everyone else wasn't doing that. The 61 health is totally fine for me, I'll gladly take the change.

Xaris stood over the almost headless body of the wolf. He looked down to Artanis quickly and showed no emotion. His wild side had broken out once more and now he was nothing more than a wrath of nature, needing to kill these abominations of the woods. With two down and even more to go, it would be hard work, but they could do it.

He stood for a moment, with sword in one hand and clenched fist in another to gaze about the field, and find a target to take on next. He watched as the lead wolf cast a horrid spell at him, but he dodged it just in time to take a glancing hit from the lightning. He would have to be next.

Xaris sprung out of his roll that he dove into to dodge the lightning, and watched as he came to his feet as the lead lycan shifted into a massive wolf. Yes, he would definately have to die now.

Xaris gripped his sword in two hands, and charged the massive wolf, letting out a bellowing cry as his feet carried him almost effortlessly across the field. He would meet this massive beast in combat, and only one of them would come out of it alive.

well killing the child thing is definately an evil thing. Because there is the possibility he will be good also. A true paladin will probably take him under his wing and raise him as a paige, if he is worried so much about it. the rat thing, not evil but not nice either. And watching your friend do the killing...well as long as their not innocents no its not.

Xaris looked at the wolf in front of him bleeding out, and it brought great sadness to him that he had to kill a creature of the forest. But it was its own choice to resist and fight, and Xaris had to defend himself. He looked around, and closest to him he seen Artanis on the ground, and over her a looming wolf of great size. He watched as she got off of the ground and attacked, but her swing being deflected off of the wolf. He knew that the giant wolf would be a bit of a problem.

He looked clear across the battle field, and at the large wolf man casting a spell. Who knows what horrid spell he was cooking up, and it was of great importance to stop him also. Maybe Artanis could wait just a few more second, only time could tell.

He judged the distance, and realized none of his projectiles would work, and knew Artanis was the next thing on his list.

He gripped his great sword tightly and left the bleeding wolf, charging the massive beast that stood with Artanis. His little feet carried him as quickly as he could, and in mid run he hefted his sword and gritted his teeth, and with all his might charged the creature and made a massive swing towards it, hopefully distracting it from Artanis.

( will fly into barbarian rage which lasts for eight rounds, and then swing at monster wolf)

Is there a possibility of getting an updated map after round two of combat? I want to make my next decision knowing all my options. I'm either deciding between rushing to Bart, or helping someone else out right now.

Ghustel ran down the hallway with his sword drawn, hoping to slice into this mutant of a creature and rid it from this world. He could hear the ringing of gun fire around him, and before he could actually do anything, he watched the creature fall limp on the ground. A few precise shots had claimed its life already, and he was surprised that one of them came from the tech priest. He stood now, in front of the tech priest, and sheathed his sword.

" Everyone alright? No stray bullets hit anyone? Good."

He looked to the man in front of him, and looked him over. He seemed alright, maybe only a little shaken.

" You ok?" He spoke out to the tech priest, wondering about his condition.

Hopefully I'll be able to intimidate this wolf into leaving. Or should I even try? I'm not sure if it's pointless or not, but forest gnomes can talk to forest animals kind of so hopefully it works.

Xaris swung his sword in a devastating arc, draining the life blood from the wolf. He himself almost felt the pain of the wolf as he slid his blade through it, feeling remorse for having to kill this forest creature. He looked straight at the wolf, and made their eyes lock. His greyish green skin showing he was a forest gnome, the wolf had to of known what he was. Creatures of the woods shared their space with forest gnomes just like him, them being the only ones who actually know they exist. He looked straight at the wolf, and spoke.

" Go now, before you die. Lick you wounds, live another day."

He hoped he would get through to the wolf, and that it would fall back into the forest. If it does not budge what so ever, he knows what he has to do. Just like in the wilds of nature, it's either kill or be killed.

( Will try an intimidate check on the wolf using my forest gnomes ability to speak on a basic level with all forest animals. If it works and he flees, Xaris will go to Bart and try to help him out. If not, he will deal with the wolf the only way he knows how.)

I do enjoy the book " Lady of Poison" it is based in FR and I'm not sure if its from a set of books called " the priests" or not because I got it from a second hand book store and it was the only dnd book there. It was quite good in my opinion, and you should read them if you like DnD novels. Maybe I'm biased though because I am quite partial to clerics, and also if anyone has any infortmaion on " the priests", please tell me. I would love to read more books from this series.

Xaris eyes the two wolves that sit at either side of him in the trees. He listens to the wolf leader speak, and then watches the hedges and trees turn into walls, and in front of him a door way opens up. He grips his sword even tighter, and then stand his ground firmly as his companions make their actions. He hold his ground, watching the two wolves to his left and right, waiting for them to make their moves. He would try to intercept both at the same time, taking them both on while protecting the rear of the group while they make their move to attack the leader. Hopefully his actions will keep from unnecessary flanking.

Xaris checked the empty fire pit that was in the center, and decided that it was not used in a while. He wondered why no one has used this fire pit in some time, and didn't let his mind wander to far to reasons why. He wiped off the black smear marks on his fingers and went to help setting up camp. As soon as everyone was set for the night, they sat around the fire and ate the meats that were cooked, and they talked. He thought about his own family that he used to have, and wondered what life would be like if that night never happened. If everything was left to be like it was for the past hundred years would he still be living with them all. He knew the answer, and it was yes. rarely did any forest gnome leave their home, but he had to. Those circumstances forced him to leave.

He looked about his companions and decided that even though they were always traveling, this right now was the closest thing to family that he has, and nothing would tear him away from them. Soon, sleep gripped all of them and it was time to go to bed. Xaris was climbing into his bed roll when out from the newly laid night came an ear piercing howl, followed by three others ,then one last one to shut out the others. Then as quickly as it started, it stopped, and now it was eerily quiet.

Xaris ran away from the center of camp, and put himself in between some trees and in front of some tents and his bed roll. He scanned the darkness, using his low light vision to its full effect hoping to catch any of these creatures before they attacked the group behind them. Nothing will get past Xaris without paying a heavy price. He gripped his great sword in his hands tightly, and awaited the inevitable.

Beinsel felt like and idiot. He couldn't do much in this situation, he wasn't meant to be swimming under water fighting some giant beast. He just didn't have many things to do right now except play. He took out his lute and began to play, hopefully someone who needs it hearing him and getting the inspiration they truly need. He strummed a few notes and then began to go faster, the beat progressively speeding up, and becoming more aggressive. Hopefully he could help out with this, but he knew not much could be done.

( will do inspire courage +1)

Xaris walked up to his room to gather his things. He did not say anything after he had spoken, he kept his mouth shut as his companions did not see death the way he did.

He grew up in the Wealdath woods along with nature, not against it. His clan of gnomes did not clear woods or dam rivers, they coincided with it all, picking fruit that were almost too ripe, using wood that was already dead and fallen. And of course with this life style, the good and the bad were all taken willingly. Death was just another cycle of life for Xaris and his gnomish brethren. First comes life, you live it, then you die and start the next life. Over and over this cycle continues. No matter what you do death will always be there. So Xaris wondered why these people were so sad to see his companions go. The only reason he was remotely saddened at all was the circumstance that they died under. They did deserve a better death other than being crushed by flaming debris, but at least they died with honour and in what they believed in. He felt you should feel proud in why they died and be happy, remembering all the good that they brought to the world, not what they could of done and what they left unaccomplished. He just didn't understand.

Xaris walked through the door to his room, and began to pack his belongings. He gathered up his potions and his pack, and slid on his armour that was laid out on the bed in front of him. He put that on and then went over to the green shirt that Loriel had bought him just a few hours earlier. He smiled and knew that this will be the one thing that he will remember them both by, and he put it with his other special gifts, that being the conch, sword, and broken arrow.

He made his way downstairs and out, smiling at the people who had entertained them so much for the past few days, and stepped out. He walked down the street towards the gate, passing by the house that he was at last night. He stood, looked at the smoldering debris, and nodded with a smile. He knew they would always be remembered for their heroics, the people of this city never forgetting the two who saved the lives of others only to give up their own in the end. He looked at the murals for a bit longer then left for the gate, meeting up with his other companions to finally ride farther towards their destiny.

Ghustel rode the lift down silently, the buzzing and shaking of the lift making him sway slightly. As they hit the level they were meant to get off on and the doors opened, he seen a few others go out before him. Mkoll said he should go left as he himself headed up right with his auto gun. Ghustel drew his massive sword, its blade enhanced to be able to cut through any armour, modern or primitive, with ease. He stepped slowly out, holding it in two hands, the hilt near his face and blade straight into the air. He made his way to the edge of the hall way, and stayed left. He looked to make sure everything was clear and then turned towards the moaning noise, tightening his grip on the handle. He walked slowly towards the sound, cautiously taking his time.

Loda sat on her pony and daydreamed about past events, until the sound of hoof on hard stone woke her up from he mind slumber. She looked around and seen that they were entering the mountains and soon the sun would set fully behind the jutting mountains of stone. She looked into the golden sky and seen a pillar of black smoke rising from behind the hill. She shuddered at the drums that rang out across the terrain and regained her composure, thinking over the spells she would need to defeat these disgusting goblinoids and their allies. From what the Blade singer said these goblins had allies that helped them plan out these elaborate schemes, and they too would need to die.

Loda kept on guard, but the path ahead would not let their horses go any further. She dismounted and patted her pony.

" You've done good for me, now it's time to rest for you. What should we do with the horses, let them head back themselves?"
