A dagger and a throwing dagger, in DnD, are one in the same, at least in normal rules it is, Tek might have a house rule.

And also, dang it had to be a one that was rolled for healing

ah well, as long as he's not dying that's all that matters!

Traubon Gripped his Halberd tightly and watched his back and the others as well as they entered the woods. For the first half of the trip, he had been on edge, waiting for the beast to reveal itself from the woods and pounce upon them like wolves on a fawn.

After a while though, he had relaxed and ended up using his Halberd as a walking stick, easing his trip through the woods. If there was one place he had liked walking, it was through the woods. The canopy above gave him some false security, mocking the stone canopy of his old home. The open sky still gave him some sense of vertigo if he started into it for so long, and the sun irritated him on days that it shone very bright, so going through the dark cover of the forest canopy was ok with him.

Eventually, the group came to a small spot where their peace would be broken momentarily. The bushes shook and rattled, and tension grew as a rabbit came bursting from the grove and through their party. Shortly after the sounds of what seemed to be some horribly amazing beast crashing through the woods sounded all around them. Then, to everyone's sheer horror, the magnificent beast showed itself.

An animal jumped from the bushes and revealed itself, seeming to look like a goat sized mini wolf, but its flesh and skin seemed loose along its head, revealing part of its fleshy chin. It had a mane of a lion, and the spots of some sort of wild cat.

Traubon stood for a moment, in a questionable awe. In awe of the parody of nature that stood in front of them, but questioning how ferocious it could be. Surely it looked like something out of a fairy tale with its skin writhing upon its skull, but could something so small cause such a ruckus? Well, he was about to test his mettle against this mythical beast. Or so he thought.

In a few seconds Traubon felt he was ready to slay the beast, but as he gripped and readied a charge the beast had already been felled.

He looked around and went back into a relaxed position, and listened to everyone's conversation around him. He nodded in a slow movement of his head as the pieces came together slowly. Of course, it all made sense, just a pup ya see?

"Of course, just a pup. And ya know how a mother bear is to her cubs, well this thing is probably just as ferocious, and most certainly will be pissed right off!"

Traubon gripped his Halberd tightly, and did as Ryan, keeping an eye on the direction that his back was facing, hoping to keep an eye on the whole perimeter.

Topic: The Search for Tomorrow
Subject: Sorry, really late. Heres the post that should of been upa while ago.

"The hero stood, fast and firm, like a mighty oak, pressed upon by unyielding winds. His stance did yet act, like a shield he himself held, for thee young maiden, for which he stood guard. Vast fields, far and wild, all around did stretch. Flowers, colored crimson, swayed in wind in as did a furry mane as fierce and untamed as the beast that wore it. Mighty lion, oh lion, as ferocious as it was.

Fierce fangs, daggers for claws, and a size rivaled by none. When it roared, and roar it did! the gods even listened. The Bhuvathi lion found prey once again. Yet our hero stayed, bravery as strong as sword and armor. This, lion did see. No normal prey, no no! Brave, godly prey, a meal for the ages, but dangerous as ever. Minutes, hours days passed, swaying in the wind. The two both stood, hungry lion and champion of men, both staring into deaths gaze. One would break, will snapping like kindling, slipping first, the other gaining advantedge....."

A long pause filled the dank stoney chambre as Avellin haulted the story midway. The small crowd of children around him seemed to edge closer, enthralled at the story he was telling them.

"What happens next!?" A child exlaimed, but not too loud for fear of the guards.

Avellin just smiled wryly and wiggled a finger. "All of you shall wait, until tomorrow after first meal. Then I shall continue. For now sleep and dream, let your minds wander with thoughts of our hero and the lion, and the fair maiden he guards with his life."

It was all Avellin could do to keep a smile on his face, the dreary bars and horrid conditions everyone was forced to endure was getting to him, and everyone else. He figured as the days wound on people would begin to snap, but one girl seemed to keep everyone at ease, whether they knew it or not. He could sense it at least, something different about her.

Whether she would listen to his stories or not he still hoped he was helping her and everyone else by taking the minds away from the harsh reality of it all. Gods know what they'll end up doing with all of them, and even though he hoped for the best, as every hour passed his fears that the worst case scenario would happen crept to the forefront of his mind.

Some time later, and if Avellin could tell how much later he would really be happier, strange voices could be heard outside the cell. Humans, different than before, and and elf. He decided instead of ruining his faint connection with the voices by rising, he would sit and try to hear as much as he could. Then another voice joined in, an over confident smug sounding man, and then to Avellins surprise, steel met steel as the sound of battle rang out through out the hallways.

Quickly he rose to his feet and ran to the iron barred door, watching carefully through the small window. He watched the whole battle insuing infront of him, his heart pounding and his ears getting hot as the worst for him and the people in the cell seemed to hinge on what this group would end up doing. It seemed their advantadge as they fought, but soon the small hallway became their enemy as one of their number fell with bloody wounds, and almost in a bittersweet timing more friends of this party joined in the Frey.

Outnumbered, the villian fled, leaving only the ringing of hot blood pounding through his ears, and the sight and smell of blood flowing freely permeating through the air. He watched as one friend of the fallen seemed to try to cast some magic, but his acts were fruitless.

Avellin suddently felt a snap, a spark of his own magical flow kick in. He knew how he could get out and secure the safety of the people in this room. It was their only shot.

"Hey, unlock the door! Free these people and ensure their safety, and I can help your friend. I can save his soul, keep him from dying. Let us out and he'll be saved!"

Subject: Ready, finally! sorry for the delay

The moon shone bright tonight as the parted canopy let the light trickle through into the bandit camp. Unbeknownst to its residence, an ambush was expertly being put together right outside. The party had come to the consensus of hoping that things went well, while secretly some individuals hoped things divulged down into a fight. If there does end up being blood spilled, the morning coulds will surely be painted red.

Roughly thirty minutes at most had passed since their initial battle and the group was ready and waiting to spring their next plan. Rope set and people placed, everything was ready to be executed in a moments notice, if things decided to turn bad.

Render sat in his tree waiting and watching as Basyl stepped into the camp, bringing along the wounded man who seemed to be almost passing out on his feet.

Leanderia stood behind the boulder feeling the cool stone against her, able to hear everything happening just mere forty or so feet away.

Uryuu stood behind the tent, ready to back either side that would need support if things did go bad, his Kukri's blade ready to do work.

Valandril sat in his tree, but realised that from his view he could not see and felt uncomfortabely vulnerable. Slowly crawling out of the tree he snuck out wide and around, making it to a better tree and vantage point, no one apparently noticing him along the way.

And Basyl walked right into the camp, half dead bandit in hand. Upon entering the camp, he could hear voices coming from the tent to his right. " Hey, do you think they should be back now? Maybe we should go look for them." Another distinct voice spoke up, confidince and malice lining every word it spoke. "No. If they died trying to find a bound woman then they are no use to us. If they're alive, well they know the way back. I grow tired of waiting, I'm going to retire soon and it's up to you to watch the prisoners." The previous voice spoke up once more, a hint of fear spattering his words. "Yes, I'll go straight there."
Foot steps could be heard coming from the tent flaps, and as Basyl stood with his prisoner he spoke out with as much confidence as he could muster.

"Ahoy! I've come to speak on terms of 'Parle' with whoever be in charge."

Then the man suddenly passed out unconconcious in Basyl's arms, blood dripping down the front of his clothes and armor staining it all crimson. He almost hit the ground but Basyl was able to grab him in time and hold him upright, blood staining his sleeves.

Just then the man who the foot steps belonged to came from around the tent, a strange look of disbelief on his face as Basyls voice rang through out the camp. The man had nasty looking teeth, a hankerchief over his head and rutty looking stubble over a sweaty dirty face. He wore no armor and only had a studded club in one hand. "Hey, who are you?" The man then glanced at the prisoner, and stiffened up in a fighting stance. "You! Stay right there, damnit! Don't move a damned muscle or I'll beat your filthy brains in! BOSS!!!!" The man stood looking at Basyl, sweating and shouting as more foot steps could be heard from inside the camp, men coming from tents. Basyl watched as two men came out from the western most tent, and one woman came from the eastern most. One man wielded a longsword, while the other held an axe. The woman who came from the tent held a spear taller than her as a walking stick, all wearing leather armor.

Then, coming from the southern most tent which the dirty stubbled man came from appeared a tall handsome man. His slightly pointed ears and short cropped black hair easily gave him away as a halfblood. He was cleanly and shaved and wore heavy black cloth breeches with leather shoes, an exposed chain shirt with a white shirt underneath and a button up light blue shirt over the chain, and on top of it all was an expensive looking grey fur coat that draped down to his calves, and to his wrists. On his belt was an ornate looking rapier, its hand guard golden hued. He slowly walked past the club wielding man and shooed him away with a flick of his wrists, and made his way up to Basyl, an air of confidence obvious in his step, but also lacking any aggressive movement also. Stopping a few feet away, the eccentric looking half elf looked the prisoner up and down and chuckled.

"So, you wish to parlay? From what I know that only worked with pirates and privateers, but i'll see to what you want. From the looks of it you bested my four men who I sent out after that pretty dark haired girl. Also from your looks, your either a very skilled man who can slay many, or you had help. Either way, I rather not fight in either circumstance. So I'll enteratin you for now as today was boring, please put that useless thing down, he's done no good for me today and he's gotten more than he has deserved just by living through your little fight."

He turned to move away, and quickly turned around again smiling at Basyl, "Oh, please follow me, I'd like to take these talks into my private quarters, it is chilly out here and I was about to retire." He turned again to wait for Basyls response, as behind him the four figures started to move back into their tents.

Hammer, stone, chisel, pick and polish. These things made Traubon who he was, defining his life by his work. No good Khord would go without a great profession and stone craft was his families forte. Back in the holds of the clans his ancestors helped carve out the very halls that now make their way below the Kharolis mountain range, but here in StonesHollow Traubon only crafted minor things for the humans and Sylvari around him. Walls, eatery, houses, fences, art, anything that they wanted built he would do. And they did order daily since Khord crafting is second to none when it comes to stonework, and many pieces, even the smallest cups and forks would out last their owners, solely because they were crafted by a Khord.

Back in the Kharolis mountains, his family also established a rich and legendary history of being one of the few families in the clan halls able to uphold the title, Stonelords. The Patriarch of each generation would become a great and noble warrior of the earth, defending the halls and mines of all the Khord clans. Rightfully being the first and only son to the late Galvenal Strakelheim, it was Traubons turn to take up the family heirloom and become the Stonelord of his generation, and he would gratefully do it to if he were back in the holds. Alas, he wasn't back in the holds, and he cannot relish in the celebrating, or sing the songs of the stone since he sat in Stoneshollow, crafting away the days in his hovel. But don't feel pity, because Traubon does not feel pity so you shouldn't either. He chose this path and his reasons are his own, as one could only guess why he did it those many months ago.

The sun rose above the trees and peeked its way into the small glass window. Traubon slowly rose stretching from his bed, yawning as he sat up. He made his way to the pantry and took out what he would need to make himself a breakfast of biscuits, gravy and eggs. He cooked up the meal and sat down at his small wooden table, only one chair tucked underneath. Traubons hovel on the edge of town was as quaint as you could get, one main room with a small table and chair, a wood stove, a padded bench with the padding almost all gone, and a large dresser where all of Traubon's clothing currently sat. Quills and parchment were scattered on one half of the table, and pushing aside one large leather bound book, the other side was clear for his meal.

He slowly ate up, taking time to appreciate the sun coming through his eastward window. Another window just opposite were the only ones, but that was all he needed as the sun rose and set, giving him wonderful lighting. Back in the holds he didn't get much direct sunlight if at all, and on his trip down south he came to like the way a setting sun reddened the sky, and how in the morning the sun would break away all mist and chills. He did get the occasional feeling of being to exposed, but what dwarf wouldn't when a solid rock layer was almost always above you, and then suddenly sky.

Finishing up his meal he took his dishes to the wash bin and then dressed, heading outside behind his hovel. That is where his real lively hood was, a shed almost the size of his house sat locked up waiting to be entered. Traubon unlocked it and entered, and smiled. Inside was a large work bench with many tools upon it, and stone pieces were everywhere. Large hunks or rock down to fist size stones sat, but he walked right past all of this, and grabbed a large haft that sat upright in the corner of the room. He pulled it out into the light and gripped the wooden pole, and then looked up to the large halberd head that sat upon the top. He turned it a few times in his hands, and sighed. "Pa, why'd you have to go and get yourself killed..." He spoke in his native tongue of Khordaldum to himself, and brought the pole arm out into the small yard.

Surrounding his yard was the edge of the forest that the town sat nestled in, and many stumps were around that used to sprout trees, but all fell to Traubon when he bought the place. He sat on one of the stumps, and pulled out a handkerchief, polishing the blade. The Halberd itself was magnificent in design, the haft made of a hard cherry wood stained deep red. Two leather grips expertly fastened to the haft sat comfortably where your hands would be if you were to wield it in combat, and the halberd head had a large axe blade with a sharp curved hook on the back, and a broad narrow spear tip on top, all made from the finest Khord steels, and polished every morning by Traubon himself.

Traubon then stood, and gripped the pole arm in both hands. He took the weapon and began to slowly move with it, copying attacks, guards, blocks, sweeps, and jabs just as his father had taught him and how the book explains it as well. He practiced all morning jabbing, sweeping, slashing tree trunks until they splintered.

By around eight, Traubon bathed, dressed and headed into town with a coal pencil and parchment ready, and a small pouch of silver to buy some groceries. Stones Hollow was a peaceful wonderful place to live in, but maybe he settled in the wrong place for what he ultimately wanted from it. Maybe it was too peaceful to do him any good, and soon he felt he would get stuck in a rut and be embedded in the cheerfulness too much to get away.

Minutes later after a brisk walk and still deep in thought, Traubon found himself in the town square. He had been through here countless times, every time commenting on how one of the stone fixings on the fountain had been crafted poorly, forever irked by its flaws. But today his attention was diverted away from that daily peeve, and onto a large crowd around something nearby. His heart started racing as he headed closer, secretly longing deep down inside the possibility that maybe, something was about to kick start his life once again.

When he fought his way through the crowd he stopped as he saw, laying in the center of the crowd was a disembodied arm, bloody and ownerless. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, as this was the closest he's been to real blood and gore. Once before deep in the halls as a child, he had almost been slain by some goblins but he hadn't witnessed their ill befallen fate as his father had rescued him. Now, today was his first time experiencing a real problem, flesh and blood and all. Maybe it was his blood line or just his Khord ways, but Traubon did not feel fear or sickness, he just gritted his teeth and breathed deeply, looking around for the owner, or culprit but nothing could be seen. Soon enough the authorities parted the crowd and like clockwork the rumors started to fly.

The next few days went by so quickly to Traubon he couldn't keep up with everything. Rumors flooded to his ears as he drank a the tavern, spoke with customers, and chit chatted around town. Then a sighting. A man ran to town ranting and raving about some wolf, a stalking shadowy figure seemingly ripped out of the nightmares of any child.

The wolf hunt was called the next day, and Traubon happily volunteered. The change of pace and adrenaline got him pumping, feeling like this kind of life was what he was meant to have and the mundane business part of him had to be shelved. Something sparked within Traubon that day on the wolf hunt, and even though they only killed a normal wolf from the woods, the stone had been unturned within him and there was no going back. Either Stoneshollow had to give him what he wanted or he had to move on. Luckily for Traubon, the former was about to unfold.

A week later as business was dwindling, another man came to town, only death crept in with him as large bloody claw marks donned his back. Traubon wasn't there to see it himself, but someone ordering a set of stone mugs had told him everything, even the part about a hunting party, rewards and possible death. Traubon took the order and as the man left, he went to his halberd. "Pa, I think now's the time. It's why I left the holds, why I came here. Not just for all the Khords back home, but for everyone here on Antaron."

He took the halberd inside his hovel with him and then dug through the bottom drawers of his dresser. Slowly he pulled out a dusty and well used suit of leather armor. When he had left his home, he had not one ounce of protection save his halberd. Luckily the caravan group he had hitched a ride with was kind to him and his help along the way, giving him discounts on wares. He had purchased this suit, and the dagger that was with it as a way to have some sort of protection. He polished up the leather, cleaned the dagger and polished that up, and set it aside on his table. He bathed, dressed in his favorite red vested tunic and dark earthy breeches, buckled on his boots and headed to the Golden Barley where this Geron Twoblades waited for volunteers.

As Traubon found his way inside the inn, he looked around for anyone obviously fitting of "Geron Twoblades". He quickly spotted desk with the man sitting behind it, and a small line formed in front. Traubon was slightly disheartened to see so many already ahead of him, but he headed over anyways to find himself a spot. Patiently he waited for his turn to speak, hoping he was still able to participate even though a good amount of people already found their way before him. Once it was his turn, Traubon spoke up to Geron.

"Mah' name is Traubon Strakelheim, I am here to help rid' ye' of this wolf. Will ye' have me? " He gave a slight formal bow, making sure to keep his red beard neatly straight, but still sounded slightly silly as his accent was heavily influencing his Apanonese even though he had been practicing for months.
