Topic: Limited Internet
Subject: Limited Internet

Turns out yesterday our internet and cable was shut off, so now I have extremely limited internet capabilitie. I'll be trying to update eventually, but I cannot today, or even possibly until this weekend. I'm not sure when I'll be able to do anything so I'm going to say I'll be gone for a bit until it comes back up. There's always good ol' school where I'll be able to post from sometimes, but updating games like Pool of Radiance will take longer than one class period.

the way I see Xaris is a quiet and solemn gnome who tries to be as selfless as he can be. Barbarian comes from growing up in the middle of the Wealdath with all his other little gnomey buddies

But I never looked at it that way Kaelyn, now I'm gonna laugh whenever I see how polite he is!

Xaris felt pity for the man and his lost prize. He could imagine the years of hard work having to go towards what was needed to pay, and then finally something that made you happy being torn away right from underneath your nose. He frowned and then looked up towards the man.

" I will try an get thirty five crowns per cow that was lost, and then fivety crowns for the potential income that was lost along with it. I hope one hundred and twenty crowns are worth it. If my friends do not comply to this price, I will give you that amount in goods to sell that should fetch you even more than that. I do hope this is good enough. My apologies for what has griefed you this night."

Subject: Juvenile Bulette Stats

I want to run my group of PnP players through a tower infested with bugbears, and the basement has a special key which they get off of the chief; which he gives to them. Now the basement is infested with giant spiders, and a special gift. A bulette. Now the party SHOULD be level five when they get there, maybe even six if all goes well. I was just wondering if I down played the bulette enough for them. Here are the stats I gave it.

Juvenile Bulette

Large Magical Beast
HD: 5D10+40 (65)
Initiative: +1
Speed: 30 ft. (burrow 10 ft.)
AC: 18 (-1 size, +1 dex, +8 natural)
Touch: 10, Flat footed: 18
BaB/Grapple: +6/+17
Attack: Bite +9(D12+6)
Full Attack: Bite +9(D12+6), 2 claws +6(2D4+3)
Special Attack: Leap
Saves: Fort: 10, Ref: 7, Will: 5
Abilites: Str 23, Dex 13, Con 19, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 6
Skills: Jump +15, Listen +8, Spot +2
Feats: Alertness, Iron will, Track
Challenge Rating: 5-6

So is this down graded enough? Comments please, and soon as we may play within next few days.

Grugg, are there multiple routes for us to take to get to Portluck? You said we needed to find our own route so it would be cool if you could describe the ways or get a map or something. Or unless you want this kind of conversation to be rp'ed, then we could do it in there.

Xaris had rested his head on the table for a moment as his friends joined them, and for a second he thought about his past life once again. He thought about the woods and the war and he closed his eyes, imagining everything as it was. The next thing he heard was screams and his companions running down the road to a house which was ablaze. The three of them ran down, and Xaris was about to get up to go after them when a man stood, screaming at Kas.

Stop! Thief! That cloak cost me two heads of cattle!”

He thought that his friends could handle the situation, and decided to get this man calmed down before the guards started to arrest people. He walked over to the furious man, and spoke to him.

" Sir, how much did that cloak cost? I'm know we could re-emburse you when they come back. It was for a good cause."

Subject: .

Ghustel sat up in his bed, legs draped over the side of it rubbing his head. He had been up for about an hour already, but had only been thinking of that one week that had changed his life for ever.

Ghustel had lived many years on his home planet of Rhenon, and enjoyed it. As a child the death world he had lived in seemed like a giant play ground. What would kill a man from any other world, he and his friends would toss back and forth, playing catch on their spare time.
The village he lived in consisted of a few dozen houses that had thatched roofs, and mud walls. Thick jungle engulfed the whole world, and within these jungles horrid things happen. Writhing beasts of flesh and claw spawn and it gets easy to look for ways to escape these monsters. As was the case of the rebellion of Rhenon.
The feral tribes of Rhenon that dwelled deep within the jungles were all but cut off from the world, and them and the outer tribes almost never made contact. This was like this for many years, and peace had rained. But one year a freak happening of nature increased the spawning length of the beasts of the jungle and many more of these creatures spilled forth from the depths of the woods, and relenting attacks on the inner tribes made them resort to any way for safety. The dark gods of the chaos found this like a disease would an open wound, and the infection spread. Within a year the rich green jungles of Rhenon burned. The smell of burning wood, petroleum, and flesh blanketed the world as close combat ensued through out the jungles. Leman Russ battle tanks were useless as the jungles blocked the paths, as were chimeras and hell hounds. The only machine remotely able to break the thick wall were the sentinels. But alone, these lightly armoured bipedal machines were no match for ambushes. The heretics would hide in trees, and wait for one to pass so they could spray the cockpit with gun fire, or just fire.
So it would come down to brutal a brutal infantry war, and with the coming of the Imperial guard came the unification of all the outer tribes. All together under one banner they rose to be a mighty army of guard, and their expertise in close quarters fights and the knowledge of the jungle made them invaluable. For months after this was realized, the war swayed to the favor of mankind. The rebels were pushed back through the burning jungles, many falling in their continental retreat. This was all common knowledge for any fellow Rhenon, but what plagued Ghustels mind was what happened during the few weeks that the war peaked at.

It was right when the Rhenion regiments were being sent out into the battle when he met her. Ghustel had been assigned to help the Phoenix guard IVth, some heavy trooper regiment. Him and his half regiment were assigned to help with flanking attacks and movement through the jungle. But along with them came one very out of place Chimera. From this vehicle a few men arrived, heavily armoured. They were most likely body guards for the next one who stepped out. A woman with an aura of authority about her stepped out, clad in jungle type camo and black cloak and boots. She was assigned with them because their mission was to assault the enemy head quarters five miles deep into the jungle. Intel had shown that ever since the new world wide push two weeks ago, the head quarters of the enemy became almost nomadic, moving around so they would not be caught. orbital pictures shown the last location of the HQ, and it was nestled in the crotch of a mountain range. They bombarded the peaks and few mountain passes of this range, and now the only way out would be through this gathered force. The Phoenix soldiers dug in to attack the mobile base if they would pull out, and the Rhenions were made to move in, and attack it; maybe catch it in the middle of moving. Well what happened was something astounding and that could only be found in the books of old.
They started to move out, easily traveling through the thick jungle forest. Ghustel and his squad was made to be personal guards to Inquisitor Carrigan Øravík, and also guides. Well they moved through the forest, and covered the five miles in two days. What they found was something none of them ever believed could happen.
A large portion of the forest was burned to the ground, and in its place an alter jutting twenty or so feet into the sky was in the center. Around it for about two hundred feet, was clear jungle, which was occupied by the enemy. Tents and cahes were about, but all were abandoned. The ones who resided in this camp were all surrounding this alter. Steps in the front led from the ground, wide steps about fifteen feet across. A massive pen full of the beasts of the jungle were at the top, and even now five men poked and prodded one of these beasts up these steps and into the pen. The five hundred or so heretics all were bowing and chanting to the pen full of the beasts they all feared, obviously in awe at what was about to happen.
As the gate shut to the pen, a light shown from below it, and the beasts started to howl and shriek and moan. Soon they started to kill each other, tearing into one anothers flesh, goring eachother to death. The slaughter was bloody, and soon the blood of these beasts ran freely down the intricate designs of the alter, filling in cracks and crevices. Where ever the blood touched, a faint light shown. Soon, one of the tribesmen started to walk up the steps, ignoring the puddles of blood he was stepping through. He approached the cage with his hands out wide, and started to chant. He bent down and picked up one the beasts organs, and drenched himself in its blackish red blood.
Ghustel was in horror, as was everyone else, except Carrigan. She knew what was happening, and quickly pulled out a bolt pistol. Before the man could fully accept the taint of the chaos gods within him, he was blown to pieces with six rounds of a bolt pistol. Battle ensued quickly as the rebels stood, and faced them. Their bodies and faces were scarred from months of self inflicted torture and burning, and the only thing they wore were the weapons they wielded. They had various weapons, some ranging from lasguns, others hammers. Whatever they had they fought like mad men with them.
Ghustel quickly jumped infront of Carrigan as one her body guards heads exploded with a shot to the face, and he cleaved down the attacker with his mighty sword. He cut a bloody swath through the attacking force, along with the rest of his kinsmen. The under nourished rabble that charged them only fought for ten minutes, before breaking like a wave on a rock. Ghustel rallied his squad and charged the fleeing men, cutting down dozens of rebels that were trying to escape.
That was four years ago. Carrigan requested him to be apart of her, to replace the fallen man. Soon he became a trusted acolyte. Now he found himself sitting up in a bed of grey and walls of black, wondering what was just said over the PA. He finally pieced the puzzle together, and someone named Piscivorus had been called down to Carrigans office. Ghustel glanced down to the fallen letter that he had, and realized who was actually being called down.
Ghustel sighed, and groaned as he stood, changing into some more proper clothes. His dark pants, black leather boots, and white beater were good enough for now. He rubbed his chin and realized that he would probably be asked to shave next time before he comes before her. But that's alright with him. If she could rescue him from the sweat and toil of being in an imperial regiment he could at least shave next time.

The group sat at the edge of the clearing, over looking the stoney outcroppings infront of them. They sat for a moment as Mourn identified the six potions with ease. The three light blue ones seemed to be of light healing, while the darker blue was of a moderate healing ability. The two greyish potions allowed you to see in the dark without the aid of any light.

( If you guys want, you could rest here at the edge, and then make your way further in later)

I would like to do the treasure like this. Group all of the treasure together at first, then you guys decide what goes to who and then I'll edit in their gear. And if you would like to keep it open to any party member to use, I'll leave it in group gear. I'll edit the treasure on the main page, and then you guys can talk it over.

The battle did not last long, for the ambush was poor and the fighters of same quality skill. The group felled all that stood against them, and even the ones who broke and ran. These kidnappers shant live if they could only pick on children.

The party made their way over to the dead, crossing the clearing they fought in. They searched the bodies, seeing if any clues or valuables could be salvaged, for the dead need no such things.

Karlana had stood and made sure that the battle was over, and checked her surroundings. Yes it was, and no more cultists were around them. She quickly asked if anyone needed healing, and to her relief no one did. No injuires to heal was better than having to heal any at all. She walked over to the one she had shot, and started to see what valuables he had on him. She rifled through his pockets and pack, and found seventy gold through out his belongings, along with eighty silver pieces. On his side sheathed away was a shortsword. Its hilt was made of ornate silver, and when unsheathed its blade was an unnaturally shiny steel. When Karlana held it it felt light, and easy to use. With a smile she tucked it away for safe keepings. Also was the suit of armour with two large arrow holes deep within it, and two vials of potion. One was a deep swirling blue, the other a greyish liquid that had wisps of silver within it. laying to his side is the shortbow with which he fired, and a spilled out quiver of about a dozen arrows or so.

Aramil patrolled around the battle ground, seeing if any more were hiding, ready to fight. Instead she found the path the cultists had took, leading straight from the direction the party the was headed. Surely these attackers had made the way much more easier.

Mourn walked up to the charred remains of what once was the supposed spellcaster. He bent down to look for anything good, and almost fell on back in surprise as he noticed the charred corpse of a small snake stared back at him. This he could only assume was the mans familiar.
Looking closer once again though, he noticed that the hooded half cloak he wore was burnt all the way through, but the studded leather underneath strangely was unscathed. The crossbow and bolts on his side were black and smouldering, and the book that once was tied to his side lay a few feet from him, the pages still flaking off into the air, burning as they go. The strange claw bracer he wore was only slightly damaged. It fit on his forearm like a metallic armband with three long blade reaching out past the back of his hand. The first inch or so of the three blades were all warped and bent slightly, and the rest of it hot to the touch, but other than that it was in tact. Inside of what once was a leather pouch were about fifty gold pieces, but most of them were super heated and melted toghether. Only about four of them were salvagable. rolling over the corpse though revealed a slim white wand, its shaft made of white polished bone, and in its tip sat a clear quartz gem. This wand was only slightly blackened by the fire, and with a simple rubbing it could be polished back to a sparkling white.
He walked to the other dead, and searched thier bodies too. All together he found a long sword of similiar make of the one Karlana found, and a total one hundred and sixty gold. He also found three sky blue potions, and another greyish vial. Of course the various bows and arrows layed strewn about the place also.

Brandalla trotted along with Max, trying to find anything that would help. They both moved in the direction of Aramil, further solidifying the fact that this is indeed where the men had come from. She patted him on the head, rewarding him for being such a useful companion once again.

So the group gathered together to move onward towards these ruins, past this forest and even further into this ever growing danger.
Soon enough, past when the trees were at its thickest, they cleared into an open area. This small clearing is only remarkable because of the many stones scattered across the ground. Up ahead the stones are more frequent, eventually resulting in a few areas entirely covered in stone, with only a few sparse plants growing among them. Some of the plants near these stony areas have been trampled down.

Lheriel was in amazement at the events that were unfolding infront of him. Truely this is the kind of thing that he had trained for in the past. To help the ones who need it the most, to break the grasp of fear and terror that it had on them, to cut the life force of these evil villians once and for all.
He continued to listen to the story and took it all in. He understood the risks involved, and understood the dangers of the task. Already one of their own has fallen from this beast, and they havent even accepted already. Truely this would be one of the hardest fought battles Lheriel and Jeskell have ever endeavoured. But only good can come out of this. The lives that they would save and glory that would be found. They had to accept.

" This story of yours is quite thrilling. The dangers of this mission were already shown to us, even before a word was spoken. Already one of our own was taken away from this beast, and we have yet to begin. If only to give revenge to the fallen ones, we must accept."

Lheriel turned to the group more to speak clearer.

" We are the last line of defence for all of the good in this world, and if we do not try an stop this monster, all of our lives will be wrought with untold terrors."

Jeskell spoke out too, slightly still in amazement in the story and the events from before.

" We would need to be strong, fight together, and come together as a group of heros destined for greatness. If we do go, we would need that if anything. Unity above all else."
