Crud, I forgot one of our biggest resident Zombie fans doesn't have cable--guess we'll have to bite our tongues (better us than the Zombos, right?) when it comes to spoilers. Hulu will have it online soon, I'm sure. . .

The gore and special FX are right on the edge of what basic cable will allow, I think, and serve quite well. Eol, I've actually heard the "s" word several times in the premiere, but for some reason the Closed Captioning censors it.

Great idea on reading the TPB, Eol--I'm editing my Christmas list as we speak. It's been ages since I read a comic.

That one scene in the tank when Rick fires his gun and is dramatically deafened by it was spot-on. Colt Python .357's make enough noise out in the open!

It spits out Natalie Maines ranting in the park that Randy Quaid is not crazy and people ARE out to get him. She's also covered in chili, cheese and onions. No one is making eye contact with her, not even the squirrels.

I feed it chocolate bars and sandpaper

I think I failed three Spot checks before finding Skullface on Xanderlon's shoulder. Can't wait to see how this plays out with the animated city golem.

And at three panels per strip, Ennnh, Garrgh, Hrrrgh! I'll be patient.

Good stuff, keeps me tuning in!

Greetz, All!

Okay, Zombie fanatics that dwell within the Inn, here's your place to gush, geek out, vent, nitpick and generally discuss the new series by American Movie Classics "The Walking Dead!"

The series premiered last night, so get those keys a-clicking!

It spits out three very disappointed children at your doorstep Sunday night. They were dressed as "Twilight" characters, so they got what was coming to them.

Granted, some burglars come in while you were watching "Saw-3D" and stole EVERYTHING including any furniture. Shoot, I think they even vacuumed.

I wish for an everfull coffee pot.

It spits out--they used to be called "Big Wheels," now I think they're "King Dons" or something. . .no no it's "Ding Dongs" now. (Sheesh, three cups of coffee kick in already!)

I feed it lighter fluid and Elmer's Glue.

Mayhaps he really does have a steel plate in his head. A Google search on "Randy Quaid is crazy" yields 306 000 results in 0.18 seconds.

Why is RQ afraid of the so-called "Star-Whackers"? It's not like he's a star. Heck, I read he was banned for life from the Screen Actor's Guild.

Just wanted to echo Hobo's remarks (and perhaps buy back some of the perceived harshness of my OP) by saying, yes, you "defiantly" have talent in that your talent defies the haters and trolls. (Such a serendipitous misspelling, I couldn't resist.) If you need a Fireball flung at somebody, vybeosa, let me know.

t_catt11 explained some of the elements in this strip on the fb page, and now I understand more of what was going on behind the screen, so to speak.

Also, Hobo makes another great point, IMO, that you don't have to fill anyone's shoes. I look forward to whatever artistic direction you'd like to steer Loaded Dice.

If there's a silver lining in this, Boss, at least you know for certain all the praise I've given in the past was equally genuine to my somewhat less glowing review this time.

+1 to Hobo for her generous offer
+1 to vybeosa for stepping up

Hmmm. . .

Honestly, this reminds me of the feeling I get when I see a D&D miniature with a fantastic sculpt, yet lackluster paint job, like the Lizardfolk Raider from the Against the Giants set.

As I posted on the Loaded Dice fb page (RDI wouldn't load after several tries) the outline work seems a bit thin, making the characters a bit wispy. I know faces are hard to do well, just ask Bromern Sal or any artist, but these seem a bit flawed (close-ups of Steve and Amy as examples). Also, I just wasn't feeling the level of shading and detail that Lyra brought to the strip. While I appreciate the similarity to Lyra's style to keep continuity in the strip's art, perhaps Annick should be allowed to rework the style to something more in line with her own method. I remember being so completely stoked at Annick's deviantart gallery (still am, btw) Change. . .can be good sometimes.

Oh, good script, nice punchline, thanks for no pun this time!

Thanks to you both!
