Chat does seem to behave itself when a room is created. We created a private room with the password being "password" one night and had no problems at all. Even no-password rooms behave. I guess it's just plain vanilla chat that gets ornery. Darn sunspots and auroras (I can only guess).

Doesn't that by definition make you not crazy? In any case, I'll choose thinking I'm normal while everyone else swears I'm nuts. As I've said before, I'm the sanest person I know in real life, which may indicate there are screws in need of tightening. Good thing I'm at RDI, huh?

Okay, would you rather captain the smallest vessel of the fleet, or be a Petty Officer (like a sergeant in a navy) on the biggest and best ship in the fleet?

I simply give praise where it's due.

I eagerly await the day when Loaded Dice publishes its first compilation for mass consumption! You're guaranteed at least one sale, t_catt11.

(Edit: Have made a cheat sheet listing people, characters and classes so as to more accurately refer to them here and on reddit.)

It seems, by Grugg's reaction, you've been away far too long and were sorely missed! I wouldn't be surprised if you get a FaceLickin'! As is my idiom, *hands over fluffy face towel* your first stein of spiced mead is on me!

I feel a Chat Hot-Tub Party is in the works, with Duncan's fortuitous return--Huzzah!

Enjoy your special day Saturday!

Greetz, pyroboom!

*hands over a fluffy face towel* Eol got you sooo good there! I'm going to affably assume you're too young for spiced mead, so how about a bowl of scrumptious lamb stew and a banana split, instead?

Good to know Tiamat's keeping it in the family. Please vote for the Inn at the home page each day and keep up on Loaded Dice!

*tail wags!* I just new faces! Gah! Sprained it again!

I'll say life insurance.

This is not my own creation, but I just love it:

I am the beginning of eternity,
Followed by half a circle, close on by half a square.
Through my fourth my fifth is seen
To be the first of every pair.
My sixth begins my seventh,
The end of time and space,
Now put my parts together to see what's taken place.

"Ia, Ia, Cthulu F'tagn!"

Is it just me, or is the shading detail getting even better? Drawing the wrinkles in the DM's shirt must have been a nightmare.

This is pure DM antics: wait for the party to survive their battles, use up their spells and have to camp--then get inside the players' heads with visions of horrible hentai-inspired death. *rummages through box of minis* Ahh! Here it is! The Chaos Beast!

Yeah, Eol, the monochrome panel is a shock visually, but it focuses the drama like you said. I could feel the players clench up in that scene. Is that a. . .heartbeat there on the wall? I swear that little squiggle looks like a EKG monitor.

sunow4's an animal doctor? Great, maybe he can prescribe something for my Nessian Warhound, Mr. Chompy, to stop him from scootching his butt on my favorite rug and setting it on fire.

Topic: Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting Available!
Subject: It's Here, It's Here!!

For once, I don’t mind getting woke up from a nap. . .I’ve had about twenty minutes of examining Realms of Twilight Campaign Setting, and here’s some very basic, first-impression-style reactions and observations.

First, the book has the physical heft and dimensions of the first 3.5 Dungeon Master’s Guide. The cover is of comparable gloss and thickness to any 3.5 volume by Wizards and visually seems right at home with my other RP books. Binding and endpapers are on par with anything Paizo and Wizards has produced thus far.

Now, to the inside--the text page paper is semi-gloss in sheen, and the print is kind of heavy (you can feel it when drawing a finger down the page). Hope you like black, because that’s the dominant scheme in the tome. Each page is bordered with bold designs incorporating what I assume are the world’s three moons in large triangles (top, edge, and bottom). The symbols within the borders change with each chapter. Make sure you explore this book in a well-lit room to counter the heaviness of the layout’s design.

As to the art and illustrations--about 90% of it is simply terrific. Striking and evocative images show many geographic features, battles of renown, and personages of repute. Of that, about a third seem a little TOO dark and could benefit from some lightening up in a second printing. For examples I submit pages 87, 91, and 118. The other 10% aren’t necessarily bad or of poor quality, but the style is a much more iconic and utilitarian one. Yes, these would be found in the chapter on core classes and prestige classes, most notably the Elemental Fist and the Sai-Heth for examples. Putting my best foot forward, I would say they remind me fondly of first edition D&D artwork.

The cartography--mmmm. Remember what I said about needing a well-lit room? Yeah. I absolutely eat up maps with a knife and fork. It’s what I want to look at first when cracking open any campaign setting, no matter the genre or edition. The map on the Realmsoftwilight.net website got my blood pumping with dreams of new continents ripe for exploring, but they did not transfer well at all to print, especially the one at the very back near the RoTCS character sheet.

Okay, that wraps up this raw unedited first look. Give me a week or so and I can give feedback on the meatier aspects of this volume, maybe even have more cogent thoughts on what the first world book should be. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to find a nice secluded spot outside and a fair distance from the Inn to jump for joy, so as to avoid wrecking anything. Gold I don't spend replacing tables is gold I have for mead.

So Very Happy!
