Was so bored at work that I actually spent time on this idiotic work-skills-related trivia game.
But I'm on vacation now (YAY)

Yes! 1700 members at the Red Dragon Inn. W00T! I propose a quest for the Innmates. Resolved: to achieve 1800 registered members by Valentine's Day. More members=more votes, yes? And more votes means getting that #1 spot YESS!
We Can Do This

Topic: Concerning the Malebranche Subject: That makes more sense
Thanks to Admiral for scoring the details. . .
That definitely seems more in line with a CR 9 creature. I guess since every DM runs a different game, this guy as originally statted would work better in a slightly more high-powered game. Personally, PC's in my game never come across a Staff of the Magi unless 1. they make it themself or 2. they pry it out of a dead wizard's hands.

Topic: Concerning the Malebranche Subject: Concerning the Malebranche
Okay, in 3.5 MMII page 67, you'll find this creature's stat block. I was just wondering if WotC ever issued some errata on this guy. Sixteen HD, regeneration, DR 25/+2 and only a CR 9?? Excuse me? That would definitely be a "Run, stupid!" moment for a level 9 party of six, let alone four.
On a more general note, ever encounter other broken creatures, or better yet create them yourself?

Topic: Your favorite jokes. Subject: Jokes
Came up with this one about a year and a half ago.
A Cleric of Torm takes his car in to the repair shop and tells his strange tale of woe to the mechanic (a gnome, naturally). "Yes, good sir I pray you help me with my conveyance for it acts oddly."
"What ails it, kindly priest?'
"Well, the air conditioner puts forth naught but scorching wind perfumed with a sulfurous stench, and the radio can only play the metallic strains of the heathen barbarian tribes, and the exhaust pipe issues what I believe to be foul creatures of pure shadow. I ask you, what horrid curse has defiled my carriage?!"
"That's simple enough. Your car has an alignment problem. 50gp, please."

Topic: Any songs you know about Role-playing? Subject: Hey! Got Lyrics This Time
This is from Dragon 216 (april 95) pg31
If I Only Had a Brain (Illithid's Lament)
(sung to the tune of the other song by that name)
I could while away the hours
polishing my powers
inflicting lots of pain
But I've nothing in my tummy
some gray matter would be yummy
if I only had a brain
I would start out with a mindblast
That always takes 'em out fast
Their intellects I'd drain
Now my chops I'd be lickin'
Some may say it tastes like chicken
If I only had a brain
Oh I can tell you why
Although it hurts me to the very core
In the past I'd eat those tasty brains galore
Now I'm too fat to use the door!
Now in order to get thinner
Just a lobe or two for dinner
This diet is insane!
But the day I am slimmer
I'll set my biggest pot to simmer
And I'll have myself a brain!
Hope you liked it. Have others will post on request.

Hey, bully for you!! Bringing the Light of Heironeous and the even-handed Wisdom of Torm to the masses! If your RL neighbors won't talk to you at least you have over 1600 virtual ones who've got your back.
Yeah, I caught some flack for RP'ing but mind you that's when that college student in TX went loopy and disappeared for a few, conveniently blaming our hobby in the process once he deigned to show up again. More recently, my older sister looked askance at me for starting up my own game to which I replied that the fault for misbehaving RP'ers lies squarely with the participants, not the hobby itself. Crazy is as crazy does no matter what pursuits they may have.
So hey, mucho kudos!

Yes, much better than the first film. They really should have included Dave Arneson's cameo in the original film.
Do watch the film w/commentary. Hilarious! Cleric, Rogue and Barbarian critique PC's actions.

"We don't run." Party killed shortly thereafter.
"We don't know, so let's not think." On whether or not to wake up the gnome wizard who at the time was merrily having breakfast and not in his room at all.
"I'm not used to being me." In an instance where one player RP'ed another player's PC in a conversation with 2nd player's other PC.
The same player uttered all three.

Thanks to Mr. Conquest for setting my feet on the path. . .
Hey everyone, just a note to intro myself. Not to give away my age category, but I do remember THAC0's and the near-scandalous art in the first ed MM. The username comes from an adventure I ran in which the 9th level party encountered a fully-CR'ed Pit Fiend, who just happened to be on vacation. What a story for the bard!
Cut my RPG teeth on first ed, played in 2nd, DM'ing in 3.5. 4th is not my cup of tea, although I've got the three core books and tons of minis.
Glad to meet you all and beware the flumph. They roll 20's, too!

Had a Ranger in my last group who was a walking talking Cuisinart o' monsters--simply crazy with two-weapon fighting and six attacks a round. His animal companions however were not so lucky.
Clerics rule with little regard to edition differences for me. Paladins are a close second. It's just something about calling the literal wrath of god down on opposing armies that's so heartwarming. And if you're an evil cleric--delicious!

There were parodies of popular songs done in three separate Dragon Magazine issues back in the day under the "Bards on the Run" article title. Funny stuff, especially "The Lich Is Back" "If I Only Had a Brain (Illithid's Lament)" and "You Orcs, You Orcs".
