Topic: Last one to post wins - Part II Subject: Back to Dragonlance
Any Riverwind fans out there *crickets chirp* ya, thought so.
My favorite's always been Sturm. When my old group ran a DL campaign, I was a Knight of the Crown, complete with a squire. We rose up together and my squire eventually ascended to Knight of the Rose, while I stayed a Sword Knight to supplement our party's healing abilities (there were "Mortality Issues" with that DM). Also, when my squire became a Rose, it was revealed that "he" was a "she" and was threatened with expulsion from the Order because an NPC knight raised issues of dishonorable deception on her part. A kind of trial ensued and my PC argued that because the Order is based wholly in honor and honor is without gender then the Order could not discriminate. She won her case, love bloomed betwixt us and we got married. Then she got captured by agents of Cyric and I had to rescue her and was made a Rose Knight, too.

It spits out:
20 stuffed animals
5 binders of World of Warcraft TCG cards
7 binders of Magic the Gathering cards
Approximately 2000 D&D minis
A slew of board games and video games
Roughly ten pounds of cardboard map tiles
6 binders of fantasy art cards
8 Kangol hats
And an increasingly curmudgeonly man who used to have epic handlebar moustaches. He snatches up a Kangol hat to cover his pride, looks around and grabs a fluffy dragon toy. Looks around again intently searching for something. He screams "NO! Where is it?! Frakkin Felgercarb!" The DVM spits out a laptop and the man dexterously catches it, logs on, and resumes posting at RDI. Finally he is happy.

In another thread, Meri mentioned Mall Cops. Back when I worked GameStop in a mall, natch, we had a MC named Paul and a little ditty was penned about Paul. Here it is for your consideration. To the Tune of "Surfin' Bird" by the Trashmen:
Paul, Paul, Paul he's a guard in a mall
(p-p-p-p-p Paul, Paul, Paul, p-Paul, p-Paul)
Paul, Paul, Paul, he's as wide as he's tall
(p-p-p-p-p Paul, Paul, Paul, p-Paul, p-Paul)
Have you seen Paul walkin' around?
No, but I feel it 'cuz he shakes the ground!

I choose. . .I choose. . .I Choose Both! Answer and Rant, please! (That's what Robert M. Pirsig would call "punching the dilemma right between the horns" _Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance_. Had to read that book for a Sociology class many moons ago and read it at least twice more afterwards. Darn now I gotta Wiki Pirsig to see what else he authored.)

*twinkles nose* Okay, Ion, there's your Oliphaunt, right there in front of you in all its pachydermal pulchritude. Can you see him? Eight tons? Check. Four main tusks? Check. 20-some feet tall? Check. Currently in the deepest throes of its mating rage? Che--wait, What??
*Oliphaunt Trumpets with ear-splitting volume*
RUUUNNNN!
Alas, poor Ion. He was immune to fire but not the crushing force of 3.14195 Mega Newtons as the rampaging Oliphaunt stomped a wet mud-hole in him.
I wish for the tolerance to alcohol I had in my 20's.

Topic: Dear Ogre Subject: Yeah, Dude!
Dear Curious Soon-to-be-Ogre's happy meal,
Yeah, I've been watching you and your choice is simple: Hand over dat gold you lifted from me or become my snack! Okay, then--Dragons know us Ogres are too smart and a little too greedy to trust what with all dat gold and jools jus' lying around when Dragon sleeps. So, Dragon hire Giants who are strong but very dumb. Smartest Giant still dumber than dummest Ogre. Plus, Giants have union. It's in da rules. Dragons hafta pay into Giant Retirement Fund to get Giant guards. Boy if a Giant ever live long enough to retire, he'll be richest Giant in world! Den I keel him, take his gold, yadda yadda yadda.
Swiper, no Swiping! Or I eet you! For Realz!
Ogre
Dear Ogre,
I'm an adventurer looking to retire in the next five to ten levels, and would like your financial advice. What investments should I make now to ensure a comfortable retirement. I'm also interested in avoiding taxes on my funds whenever possible.
Signed,

After much consideration, I will choose throwing daggers. I think I like the increased rate of fire over the possible greater damage per shot.
I'll pass on your Ghost State idea to Comedy Central. I don't believe they as yet have a paranormal investigative show.

The tea plant is a many-splendored thing. Full of beneficial antioxidants and offering a full spectrum of subtle flavors, the tea plant is also sentient and possesses super-human intelligence. Realizing that an intricate root system prevented it from acheiving world domination, the tea plant instead devoted its supra-brainpower to connecting with the world on a global scale. By utilizing this primordial "world wide web" (they also talk to each other telepathically, natch) they have complete knowledge of past and present and this gives them a rather good glimpse into the future. This quality extends to the leaves even after they are harvested, dried and brewed by us relatively low-brow humans. Incidentally, most tea-leaf predictions are misinterpreted. they actually mean in most cases "Stop drinking tea! Have you tried Ovaltine? It's good!"
