I'm putting the game on hiatus until we either get everyone back together and ready to go or find some new people

I think Spidey 2 was better than the first.

Topic: Inheritance -- Epilogue
Subject: suggestion

I suggest everyone slow down a bit on the posting through this patch. For those of you who haven't DMed a game online before, it can get confusing if several people interact with the same NPCs before hearing their response.

My suggestion: If someone asks something of an NPC - don't post any other interactions about that until the DM gets a chance to act.

Likely this is going to come down to initiative, with whoever wins acting first. So I could win initiative, prepare my spell, then either of the two questions (stand down or is there a toll) will go off. It makes for a slower game, but NPC conversation should be treated as battle and made with words like "I attempt" or "I try to" just like any other fight.

Oh, and remember not to assume that just because one of us posts something it doesn't mean our character actually does that. Wyrmy could easily say that my prepared spell doesn't go off, or that Gunky's tongue doesn't let him talk (because of some magic effect we might or might not know about). So just keep that in mind when we get into these back and forth efforts with each other during encounter scenarios.

And I'm guilty of it too, I know

Of course anything goes in PC-to-PC banter

The poor fellow. It seems this battle might be more taxing than we had first imagined. Adrian thought to himself as he dug through his pouch for the soft touch of a falcons feather. He needed a raptor, something aggressive.

The shimmering armor that engulfed his body gave him a bit of a feeling of protection. Adrian knew deep down that it wouldn't help him if another bolt of disintegrating energy flew at him.

All the more reason to go after the bastard. He could feel himself getting lighter as the mage began the complicated incantations and threw the feather to the skies.

It was a shame to lose such a fine warrior. First Jal, now Char. But this wasn't the time for mourning - this was a time for revenge.

(OOC: All for now, but I'll edit with a few comments on Arien's flight at a later time)

I'm in a bloody Zombie movie... were the only words T could muster in his mind. He assumed, better lucky than good, that his gun was empty. He had some spare bullets somewhere... maybe.

He needed to get the hell out of this Godforsaken town. It looks like he was going to be joining a group with the same intentions.

"Hop in" he yelled across his car to his newfound femme fatale companion as he made a run for his drivers seat. He was not leaving unless it was either behind the wheel or dead.

"I'll follow you guys!" T shouted to the other car.

"We should hold off on any replies. Let them answer our questions. Put the burden on their shoulders, so the mistake and death sentence will be theirs as well."

He started to train an arrow on the leader's head.

"If he is indeed a cleric of Bane... he might be a great commander indeed. We should focus our fire on him without losing sight of the others." Again in a low voice that could only be heard nearby without extreme effort.

Bane... irrevocably evil. (I'm assuming a basic enough knowledge religion check, can edit if needed)

This was trouble. But there was a chance. He spoke only loud enough for those close to him to hear, "Our quarry is not with them. Perhaps it would be best simply to stand aside and let them pass. We should save our strength."

Just in case someone decided to do something rash, Ether loosed Avengers reigns - the mule was a steady one in the face of danger - and drew his longbow. Sure it very well might spur them to attack, but if so they would be in the right for defending themselves.

"If any of them so much as ready a weapon, we fight," The elf states in his usual stoic voice.

(Ready an action to True Strike if any of them show any signs on hostility)

We need some people in Paranoia. I'm looking to kill a few people off and get some fresh blood in. Everyone has 7 lives, so it won't hurt them to lose a life until the players can get back to a normal posting schedule.

That being said - please consider joining!

The sun sets... Lolth and her minions are beginning to stir. Shevarash, I know you are guiding those I left behind. Today is the anniversary of the Grain skirmish. May the Drow's water be poisoned as our Grain was five years ago.

Still, I ask for the help I'll need to protect the ones I'm with. They are depending on me for guidance, protection and arrows.

Ether spent one hour at the Temple of Sylvanus as the sun fell. Shevarash was less-than-noble and questionably good, but as a wood elf Ether was a child of the forest, and thus welcomed by the followers of the neutral Oakfather.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The next morning Ether awoke after spending some time making notes on the skills and places of those in his group. While they laughed and drank, he would be focused - ever focused. The Black Archer required it of his faithful. Ether put five arrows into his door to warm up his bowstrings before heading downstairs.

He saddled up Avenger with his packs and gear, and met the others just as the sun began to peak above the horizon. So, it seems they all listened. Perhaps we can accomplish this after all.

He kept quiet as the typically loud ones made themselves known. It wasn't until Gunk-karg pulled out a map and devised a plan. He even gave his reasoning and other options. The orcs and their half-breed spawns were always brilliant tacticians, even if they were obscene, crude, and almost always unrevokably evil. It seems he has a good lineage.

"The Orcish one is right. We should go to Red Lark..."

As one of the three without four legs beneath him, Ether spurred Avenger to quickly catch up with Gunk-karg in front before letting him slow to a more natural pace. The elvish cleric didn't weigh but a few dozen pounds - it wouldn't be but an afterthought to ride the mule, but without proper saddles it would only put unneeded burden on him. Ether would walk for the time being. Maybe an elf and half-orc walking together would throw the enemies off guard.
