Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off
Subject: here we go

Adrenaline was coursing through thousands of blood vessels, a body torn between giving itself to arcane arts and physical prowess. It was no secret that he wouldn't be able to keep this up forever, at least not naturally. The arcane secrets took a great toll on the body. He was young now, and able to keep up, but soon he would have to give in. Adrian was not blessed with the body of Char or Arien, and surely not with the hulking figure of Maximus. He made do with what he had, and augmented abilities with arcane secrets as he discovered them.

The day would come, perhaps sooner rather than later, that Adrian would have to give himself over to mana entirely and let it take the toll on his body it always does. Either that or step into the realm of biomancy and augment himself permanently. It wasn't that far off actually, he could already turn himself into stone, grow wings, or alter his size or appearance. He could temporarily give himself the strength of Maximus and the speed of Char... but for how long?

The glassteel bastard sword lay at his side, covered in all sorts of material he wouldn't be able to identify without a laboratory and library. He was dying, or at least his body was trying to. Whatever spell Kilgim had cast was synergizing with Adrian's natural defenses and slowly putting an end to the toxic effects.

After what seemed like an eternity, Valentine was able to move. A bit. Slowly. All the spiders were dead, and recovery was mixed with discussion on where to go next.

"I don't care where we go... just no more spiders... Not yet..."
He looked obviously drained, and obviously fighting off the last effects of the venom.

Subject: 4e

I tried to get a 4e game going once online... and it was very hard to do by forum. The nature of the edition is more of a wargame mentality. I would highly recommend you try to do it by chatroom if possible.

Good luck though!

Topic: League of Legends
Subject: League of Legends

Lately I've been obsessed with this game called League of Legends. It's sort of like DOTA, but better IMHO.

If you want to play, let me know and we can be friends. It's free to play, or you can spend money for perks (not game changing ones, things like different character models/skins)

Anyway, they are expanding and hiring a whole bunch of positions. If you are in LA or Dublin Ireland or looking to relocate give them a look. They might do telecommuniting, I don't know.

By Gamers for Gamers. If you are interested let me know because I get crazy in game perks for the referral xD

I know we have some Innmates looking for jobs and a heck of a lot of talent here, so I figured I'd pass it on.

Just wanted to enjoy a bit more the visual of Eol pacing back and forth in front of a mirror with some hard eggnog in one hand and a hamlet-style skull in the other pantomiming out the poem, with voices and all.

And Ody's made me literally lol

I am coming to you all from a far away land...

That's right. Linux. I have officially formatted my hard drive and sworn off Windows. As a noob I decided on Ubuntu as it seemed the easiest to learn. I've been using Knoppix as a diagnostic and fixing tool for a while, but this is my first foray into full-time Linux.

So any tips out there for my poor noobish soul? xD

Now was not the time for trickery. His plan went sort of well, instead of three spiders surrounding the group there were two. Maximus showed his usefulness again by burying a blade deep into the spider's eye.

The next step seemed obvious. Adrian readied his sword and prepared to engage the fallen spider, hoping to administer a quick death or at least a long fall down the stairs. This was not a time for recklessness nor comedy. In his mind Adrian kept repeating entfetten... entfetten... entfetten... waiting for the time he'll need to say it aloud to unsummon the grease slick lest he find himself in a position to take a tumble down the stairs.

Topic: The Christmas Game!
Subject: yay

Edit: Two years later, I took this while faithfully NOT looking at my last answers. Funny to see how my perspective has changed having since gotten married and bought a house.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Usually bags

2. Real tree or Artificial? Depends. Probably real this year

3. When do you put up the tree? After Thanksgiving

4. When do you take the tree down? Sometime before the New Year

5. Do you like eggnog? UUUUUGGGGHHHH makes me sick thinking about it

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Super NES

7. Hardest person(s) to buy for? Grandpa

8. Easiest person to buy for? Grandma

9. Do you have a nativity scene? A miniature one on the shelf

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? yyyeeeaaa.....

11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Not really worst... I guess the year I asked for MegaZord from Power Rangers (yes I grew up in the 90s lol) but they were so hard to find that year, I ended up getting The Eliminator, one of those 7 in 1 weapon thingys. It turned out to be very cool and one of my favorite toys for years to come. I didn't get the MegaZord for almost another year xD

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Does the Star Wars Holiday Special count?

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? yyeeeeaaaaa....

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? yyyeeeeaaaaaa....

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Little Debbie Christmas Trees

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Half and half

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? How fast it goes by and how long it takes to come around!

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Our treasured Star Wars M&M Character collection xD

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? We did BBQ one year. That was awesome! Yes Christmas in Florida is odd sometimes

25.What do you want for Christmas this year? The same thing I want every year... snow!

Topic: Continuing Where We Last Left Off
Subject: Work smarter, not harder

(OOC: Taking some liberties here with distances - stop me if I'm wrong. I need 10 yards and a 10 ft by 10 ft area of effect. Adrian will move to whatever position is needed for the following to work. If he can't move that far, he'll simply move as far as he can and use an armor spell if it leaves him in an exposed area)

Adrian moved with the group - minus their thief and two of their hard hitters. Granted, he intended to follow quickly, but to run blindly ahead wasn't exactly the ideal strategy.

As for the fear thing... He's been wrong before and this (hopefully) won't be the last time. Still, this thing was on the run, and that could only be good. They just need to not set off any more ambushes.

The scene ahead was grizzly. Dapple was down, for the immediate time at least, and three large spiders were quickly approaching from different directions. Time to work smarter, not harder. Kilgrim was likely going to tend to Dapple, and he could read Arien's intentions to guard them. Maximus had the right idea. Sneak attack on the stairs.

Getting into position, Valentine began the familiar gestures and incantations of the Grease spell. He reached into his bag and threw a small piece of hog hide onto the floor, hoping to see the characteristic spark and splatter that would precede the spell's action. With any luck and no more interference from the demon-child puppeteer the stairs would become a greasy, slippery mess that not even a spider can walk on.

"Even 8 legs need something to grip..." Valentine mutters under his breath, hoping the force from the throwing daggers and lack of grip will send two-thirds of their enemies for a trip.
