Yes. The hallway goes forward about 20 ft. and then splits right or left, just like on the map. Your hallway splits at a 90 degree angle, while the north half of the deck splits at a 45.

Maybe I need to post clearer. Look at the map. The four in the strike team are on opposite sides of the deck than the tech priest. You came out of the group lift.

"Rotting people? What the hell are they talking about?" Tiaan said softly to his newfound companion. "I think they just made our decision for us... let's get out of this cesspool of a city."

Assuming Jetta was willing to follow, T started moving slowly but cautiously towards the front where his car was parked. Hopefully this wouldn't turn out like one of those zombie movies. Wal-Mart was not the greatest place to set up a base camp.

I'm up for whatever Gigi wants to do. Go or stay. That way we can save another post. Look forward to the wal-mart crew to get zombieized. Can anyone say Hardware section and chainsaws?

On the bright side, Arien has a low enough wisdom and magical know-how that Adrian can probably get away with blaming the mantis mage since Jal is probably the only one that would know the difference

Nah, I'm sure she'll be fine. Adrian will perform some diving grab maneuver or something. I'm banking on the fact that she's a much more powerful mage than he is and will be able to shrug it off.

Out of Character, I think I just killed your sister, Olan.

In Character, Adrian is a gamblin man running out of options lol

Well, this was it. This was one of the reasons Adrian left the Empire. Never would he be able to do this as a lowly red, sparring with mantis warriors while some godlike dragon assists him.

The rebellious mage watched with some sense of shock and awe as Arien's sister, or whatever she was, tore through the opposition. It seems I finally found a way to survive this...

As weaponry continued to pelt Valentine, and mid-air spars continued, his bread and butter it seems was incapacitated. Why wasn't she incinerating the rest of them? A Darkness spell? That was uncharacteristically odd... His fly spell would be wearing off soon, and he was running out of mana to recast it. Those screams are horrid. What is wrong with her?!

Valentine heard the dying words of Jal Spellbinder echo across the battle as he continued to spar with the flying bug creatures. “The girl! Mind the girl!” As much as he was spooky, Spellbinder had his moments, and though he had little interesting in "honoring" his dying wish, or not letting him die in vain, as thousands do each day... he did feel a sense of camaraderie with the other wizard.

It was a gamble. But he had not noticed Alloyren casting a darkness spell. It must have come from another mage. Her screams of pain and agony mean something else is going on. Oh well... time to act. He could always burn some life force to regain his wings should they fail on him. This would probably be the first time he's spent all his mana. Funny to feel like a real wizard for a change instead of a hybrid.

Valentine hovered in place, reciting the incantations that very well might be his last, if something should go awry. He focused all his counterspelling powers and centered the dispel magic spell directly over where he guesses the center of the darkness would reside. Hopefully Alloyren won't lose whatever magic is keeping her up as well... Adrian prepares mentally to dive for her if this doesn't work.

I hope the guys on the ground can find a way to finish these things off

Now this was why Finder decided to go on this ship! He remembered his days of throwing rocks, how everyone commented about how easily he handled a sling, how gracefully he could toss weaponry. It was natural to his race.

The halfling caught a quick smirk as the blood gushed from his pirate target's neck. Unfortunately he was now down a weapon, and these pirates seemed dead set on slaughtering the whole ship. Too many arrows flying around to risk going outside. They would have to come inside eventually. Finder made a break to get below deck, doing his best to hide along the way. Something down there would be of use.

"Well not that I don't trust you," Tiaan replied a bit cautiously, "But frankly I don't trust anyone anymore. But you seem innocent enough. We both have the same goal here. I guess you can hang around for a bit. If this place really is going to hell in a handbasket, there is safety in numbers."

He eyed her one more time, letting out a bit of a sigh. Was this the future?

"Oh well. Do you want to sleep here or get on the road? I'm a bit tired but nothing some coffee can't fix.

"Just try to lay off the hookering. I had an old girlfriend that used to do that. Bad memories."

Topic: How much are you paying for gas?
Subject: *sigh*

It's not like Bush can wave a magic wand and make this go away. And it's not like it's all his fault either or the entire world wouldn't be having this problem. Believe me, I have my issues with Bush, but gas prices are largely out of his control (much of the blame here falls on Congress).

The prices are being driven up because of multiple factors:

-Speculators trying to make a buck by investing. If everyone sees gas prices going up, the richest will obviously invest in oil companies. That means that we're driving ourself into "more of the same" and are less likely to break the cycle.

-Lack of American drilling capacity (if the US would buy less foreign oil, prices would drop worldwide). We need to be drilling in Alaska, Montana and in the Gulf of Mexico. Cuba (and by proxy, China) will be drilling in the Gulf soon. Congress is solely to blame for this.

-Lack of action by companies worldwide to produce alternate energy means (I personally know someone who developed a new type of gas, but it's not profitable for cars right now, only industrial contracts are worthwhile.)

-Taxes, Taxes, Taxes, Taxes, Taxes, and Taxes.

-Environmentalists prohibiting just about anything we could use a short term answer. France gets most of it's power by nuclear. But yet America can't? The US Coast Guard has taken over much of the environmental protectionism since it joined Homeland Security. It will protect from oil spills in the water.

-Rising demand worldwide. Normally, when prices get too high, people buy less of it. Because America's (and much of the world's) economy is designed with low gas prices in mind (especially America's huge trucking industry) we are pretty much forced to continue to buy gas at a constant rate. It's not like other products - it's fundamental to our way of life. The very fact that people are still buying gas (and things like Grand Theft Auto...) means we are simply spoiled and gas prices aren't really that bad. Especially in America.

I drive a Dodge Ram pickup, and it costs me about 90 dollars to fill my tank, and that lasts me roughly two weeks with moderate driving. Guess what? I stopped going out to eat as much. Sure it hurts, but it's not bad. I have friends that are deep in debt and they're still going to be driving cross country for a wedding this week. I'm still planning on taking my summer vacation. If I'm going on a long trip, I trade cars with my grandparents because theirs are more efficient.

If you simply cut down your expenses in other areas and drive smart, putting as many things into one trip as possible, you'll be fine. 4 dollars a gallon is nothing. Just wait until hurricane season if we get a hit and it goes up to ten dollars a gallon and triple digit gas bills become the norm.

You can't blame the War in Iraq because there is plenty of other oil in the world we just aren't getting. We got lazy and dependent on the Middle East and other countries, and nobody expected the war to last this long. Now we're playing the price for the government's lazyness (Starting back when Bill Clinton veto'd the drilling bill in Alaska. If he had signed it, we wouldn't be having this discussion and gas would still be just above a dollar a gallon or so.
