I tried to make this work a while back. It didn't. I think the mistake was doing too much via PM and increasing the DM workload by about 5fold.

Maybe you've found the secret. I'm in. Though I reserve the right to die in a manner of my choosing!

Welcome to the Inn. It sounds simple, but what about ebay? Or your local card/comic shop?

Inn games typically only have a lifespan of a few months, and it was refreshing to actually complete two adventures, even if they were small.

Victory

It was very hard fought, and nearly claimed the lives of a few companions, but they won. And what's better they discovered some treasure. Some were uneasy about disturbing graves, but like Brokkrok, the Brathun had little in the way of shame or superstition.

Glitch spoke to the group with a bit of a more somber tone than they are used to.

“When a Brathun dies we will sometimes use the body as fuel to recycle. The possessions are no longer theirs, as their spirit has returned to Kharox for him to forge something anew. These guys might have gear that we can use as well.”

He will make a fairly thorough search of the tombs, utilizing Detect Magic as a suppliment, and assist Brokkrok however he can.

“We shouldn't stay here long. I have lots of work to get back to. I have fires to start, acids to bottle, books to read, dweomers to make,” and shooting a glance to Brokkrok, “and fungal genes to splice!”

With the mystery solved, the undead slain and the “dungeon” delved, Glitch had little left to maintain his interest.

There was but one thing he tried to locate in the little farm town, and that was a book on the occult or the undead. If unable to find one in the tomb, he doubted he would find one in a house, but it wouldn't hurt to sneak a peek.

What we have is what we get. Our mapmaker (Yanamari) hasn't been seen in years, and nobody has remade them (so many are outdated.)

I'll handle it in game, but Glitch's vote will be to loot it all.

For science.

Glitch was quite pleased with the way things had turned out. But the time for thinking was later.

"We have to get upstairs fast... he might already be gone. This place can wait. If Trauban is right, the doc might be setting us up for a trap, or worse..."

Like a prized alchemy project, the timing had to be perfect.

"We have to go noooooowwwwww.... we can come back and explore later. Get yourselves healthy and lets go."

Glitch led with one foot out the door, urging the others to hurry.

Glitch knew this situation was dire... Brokkrok couldn't die yet, he still needed to teach him so many tricks! And the mushrooms!

Ta'nil wasn't strong enough to lift the heavy Khord, he knew that. He would need help. He needed butter...

Glitch took a small piece of mostly-melted butter from a pouch in his belt, being careful not to get it on his clothes.

He loaded it into his hand cannon device, and chanted again in Brathnaii, his voice taking the ethereal tone it always did.

Within seconds the floor changed tone, and a small circle of oil slowly began expanding around Brokkrok's body.

"Behold! a slick surprise of slimy slush!"

(Grease in a 10-10 under and behind Brokkrok, trying to hit the two skeles if possible, banking on the hope that Arra can keep her balance. She is a cat after all.)

Disrupt undead on the big baddie again in round 4.

Got an idea, but can I get a quick battle map? It appears there are 6 people all next to each other and it's hard to separate them mentally.

Glitch had flirted with the theory of Necromancy. He wasn't opposed to the whole idea, and frankly if given the chance he would still like to study it.

But there was nothing arcane going on here. This was apparently some unholy ritual. No study, no inventing, no research, no science.

This had to stop.

Glitch held back the urge to vomit, but looked visibly ill, possible due to blood loss and fatigue. His friends needed him now though.

This was the time to try out his new spell. He pulled a small candle from his pouch and flicked it to the center of the room while chanting in Brathnaii with his typical airy tone that alerted everyone he was preparing magic. His hands whirled around in patterns of Celestial, beckoning the magic to him.

(Give me that fire beetle now, smite evil on the lady. Then he'll follow up with Disrupt Undead on whatever is the most threatening, with his top priority being to stay alive.)

Glitch was a bit impressed with Brokkrok's display.

"You HAVE to show me that trick later!"

But they still had a job to do, and something still wasn't right here. He lowered his goggles down and began chanting, hoping he would find something of use.

Detect magic on all the items, focusing if he finds an aura. Also making sure to look at the next door before the spell wears off.

Regardless of aura's, Glitch will gather up any trinkets that aren't snatched up by others.

I've played third and fourth, and while they are mostly interchangable (think 3e vs 3.5) there are a few differences. Mainly 4th edition has the global wireless matrix, so it has a much more "modern" cyberpunk feel to it whereas third edition has a more 90's feel to it.

OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOWOWOWOIEEEEE

"You alright?"

That's what Glitch really wanted to answer, but managed to keep his composure.

"I'm ok I think. I guess I should have looked for a magical trap as well..."

Within seconds their new companion was tending to his wounds with magic of his own. "It's so fascinating, the divine magic. I always heard stories from Helena about how fickle it is, but it looks to me like you have mastered the art. I hope to study a bit of it when we get a chance to settle down. Wouldn't it be great if I could make a wand with this kind of healing power?"

The Brathun stared off into space as his imagination raced with thoughts of such a dweomer, but was quickly snapped back to reality with the presence of undead.

"Ha! Look at them! Someone is keeping them as pets! I want a skeleton pet! Too bad for you guys I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet."

Glitch did have a plan though. A very good one.

He pulled a small unlit candle from his pack.

"Beware the fire beetle. It's a little known predator with a nasty bite. And just because I am just THAT AMAZING, this one specialises in beating down little undead pests."

He grasped the candle and flicked it to the center of the room while chanting in Brathnaii with his typical airy tone that alerted everyone he was preparing magic.

"Behold! You are all witness to my newest ability, and (hopefully) done WITHOUT the use of Technomancy. Look at me! I'm a REAL Mage now! Come to me! My little Angel Bug!" Glitch motioned with his hands in the ancient patterns that spelled out a word in Celestial.

Always the one for Bravado and Excess, Glitch concluded his spell and reassessed the situation...

(OOC: Summon Monster 1 to summon a Celestial Fire Beetle and order it to smite evil on the nearest skeleton (preferably that wasn't turned by Brok. Round 2 actions are going to depend on how the battle is going since I want to ration my spells.)

They might be on to something here. The smell of rot was unmistakable. The doctor apparently knew something, but his questioning would have to wait until after some exploring.

Glitch lined up behind Ta'nil with Gadget scurrying around his shoulders.

"After you." The little gnome said with a smile, readying his wand should they encounter some unpleasantries below the church.

I adopted my dog when he was 6 years old from a family that moved and left him behind. His life expectancy was about 2 years due to the suspected abuse.

He's now turning 13 and still acts like a little puppy, bouncing around the house and playing with the cat.

Wouldn't it be a great Christmas if even 1/3 of the animals waiting for adoption could find it.

3e had a book like that... I did some googling and think it was the Stronghold builder's guide.

Also you might want to check out dungeonscape and cityscape if you can still find them. They weren't exactly but I remember one guy in our group had them and they might have some useful stuff (traps, etc.)
