Topic: To boldly go (again) where no one has gone before...
Subject: XO

I have a pretty solid concept for an executive officer. Give me a day or so to flesh him out

Subject: can't believe I'm saying this

But I think I would actually join if you started it. I know, me actually joining an RPG. I'm not active in any current games, and my tabletop group hasn't played in weeks (maybe never again due to a falling out) so I am feeling needy.

I don't know if I would like to bring back Dr. White though. He was a great character and I had a full department of awesome support characters (go Cinna!) but White was older than everyone else if I remember right, and since he was never able to pass command training I see him retiring to private practice or maybe teaching at his alma mater (Ohio State if I recall) rather than staying in space for too long. He wasn't much for military life anyway.

I'd love to try a different character though.

Subject: welcome!

I assume by the god-awful hour that you are posting you are likely from Europe or Asia?

I work nights so I'm usually on with the fine folk overseas. Normal people (that is, not me) don't post at 5 in the morning XD

Anyway welcome to the Inn! I've been gaming since the late 80's and playing D&D since the mid 90's, but I'm one the few here to embrace the newer stuff as well as the old. You'll likely find a good game no matter your preference, although there is a slant here towards 2nd edition AD&D and non-rules based games.

Don't forget to check out all our content for our custom world of Audalis, as well as the webcomics Loaded Dice and M.A. in Dragon Slaying.

Oh, and try not to step on a Grugg while you're here. The species is very aggressive when hungry - especially that one big one...

After Sunday I don't really want to publicize my fandom...

I don't know how you can sing the Cowboy's praises Tann. Really, a team of crippled wombats could have won that game

Played the first round of our new 4e adventure tonight.

For online gaming, 2e is still superior, but nothing can compare to the action that 4e brings to a physical tabletop game.

And really, outside of combat the systems have very few differences.

I forsee Brad providing a majority of the comedy. He's ended half the strips with a pointed one-liner.

Just taking clues from other webcomic forums I visit.

Subject: heh

I realized it during the Drannon/Solanis strip, but the chindari completely went over my head.

When I ran my most successful Audalis tabletop game it started in Drannon, which unlike the Canon was a completely ruined and half-razed husk of a country, with cities turned to rubble and pretty much every citizen living in poverty and squalor.

Going to be fun to see how canonical Steve keeps the setting or if he branches out.

Can we add the comic titles to the discussion threads? Yea the numbers work for the current strip but if I want to talk about archived threads the numbers make it more confusing.

Maybe something like "LD#7: EVIL!"

Not sure how it would work with the automatic postings...

Subject: bah

I had a nice long post and hit the back button and just lost it.

Gragh frustrating. I'll retype it tomorrow. Went something along the lines of Awvoor telling everyone that he'll cover it, but asks Arrune and the rodian to remember the favor in the future. Plus some comedy. And suggesting he accompany Ben and Khil

Topic: Star Wars: Dark Masques

Awvoor was starting to get very frustrated. This was not the first time he's had to bribe a guard, but Republic people are usually a little more humble than this bantha-fodder.

"1000 credits is very generous. How much do you get paid in a week anyway? But the basic rule of negotiation is that you've played your cards and now we play ours. How much is your time worth? Jerk me around and we'll be back in hyperspace and you get no creds and the pleasure of explaining to your superiors why three very important people just left your docking bay muttering stuff about a bribe..."

He reached in and pulled out a credit chip, resisting the urge to do something rash and probably stupid. "This is unmarked... how much does it need to scan?"

(OOC: Persuasion? Gather Info?)
