Grugg has signed on as a tech priest. Make a decision yet, Aryn? Could always use a cleric or arbitrator.

Adrian remembered all those times doing drills with the Grays. The Reds never really accepted him - probably because of his refusal to take a backseat to magic. While they were busy throwing magic missiles at targets, Adrian was drilling with the minutia. That's probably why Wind liked him so much - brash, arrogant and full of fire.

Valentine knew he had no future with Wind. They had a one night fling and she gave him a weapon. He can't expect anything from her for saving her. It was just the right thing to do. Still, he felt a certain attachment - A need for revenge almost. She had been dominated somehow, charmed, bewitched. Stripped of her freedom. The very reason Adrian deserted from the Empire in the first place. Freedom. And now his only friend in the world had suffered a fate worse than death, to be forced to essentially commit suicide.

Wizard's Twilight rarely saw survivors. Valentine knew full well, if she was able to hear at all, his words would be the last she hears. "I will avenge you..." he whispered into her ear through the dust of rubble and sounds of battle. He cursed slightly under his breath for not knowing any real recovery magics. Kilgrim must survive this encounter, it seems.

At that minute, Spellbinder took to the skies, and the rush to assist Arien began. No no, Valentine. This is personal. You are not indebted to them. You have bigger issues with which to concern yourself. His conscious whispered to him. He was once again conflicted - to help his friends or avenge his love. Is this how Jal feels all the time? No wonder... Adrian smirked.

But there really was no choice to be made. Adrian brushed the dust from Wind's head, made sure there was nothing attempting to finish her off (including one of his own) and then began to incant the same words Jal had spoken.

(OOC: Fly spell. If detect invis has worn off, recast it next. Adrian will be taking to the skies, flying South to scan for the other Red. He knows she's probably strong enough to fly, but not to Teleport, and he's assuming she didn't die in the crash. If after he's realistically searched as far as she could have ran and not found her, or if something really big and dangerous happens, he'll turn back and aid the others.)

Gina: Certainly. The sisters have a close bond with the Inquisition, so it's not unreasonable that you would be "on loan" to the Inquisitor.

Jozan: Can't wait man!

Topic: WH 40k Q&A - Innocence Proves Nothing
Subject: Skills

As Promised in PM, a workup of skills.

There are two types, Basic and Advanced. Advanced skills cannot be used unless bought, and can only be bought through experience. Basic skills can be used by anyone, although if used untrained - the attribute score is halved. Let's say Dodge. Anyone can dodge something, but if you are not trained in Dodge, then you only test with half of your Agility.

Some RACES allow Advanced Skills to be treated as basic skills. For instance Imperials allow Common Lore: Imperial Creed (int) to be treated as a Basic skill, meaning they have a chance at recalling the Imperial Creed, whereas a Hiver or Voidborn or Feral wouldn't know it unless they study it (buy it through their class). This represents Imperials being exposed to the preachings of the Emperor on a daily basis, whereas others might not.

Each CLASS has certain skills granted. For instance, Scum grant Awareness as a class skill. That means that although Awareness is a basic skill and anyone can make the check (It's probably the most commonly used skill), Scum make it at their full Perception score instead of half. Most classes either start with Awareness or can buy it first level.

Basic Skills - those that everyone can do, half skill if untrained: (D&D names or descriptions)

Strength Based:
Climb
Intimidate
Swim

Toughness Based:
Carouse (Resist Drug and Alcohol effects)

Agility Based:
Concealment (Hide)
Contortionist (Escape Artist)
Dodge (NOT D&D Dodge - skill used to defend against attacks)
Silent Move

Intelligence Based:
Evaluate (Appraise)
Gamble
Logic (How stuff works)

Perception Based:
Awareness (Spot & Listen)
Scrutiny (Sense Motive)
Search

Fellowship Based:
Barter
Charm
Command
Deceive
Disguise
Inquiry

Skills usually only require a test if there is a penalty for failure or in a stressful situation. Speak Language: Low Gothic (an advanced skill that all classes are trained in) will only be tested if trying to understand a strange dialect or give real-time instructions on dismantling a bomb, for instance.

Hey guys! I'm working with everyone via PM to get character sheets worked up. Please do not post character sheets here. I'll be posting "abridged" versions of characters here (i.e. no numbers) later.

I'll be updating regularly with new info, so check back.

Subject: well...

Not really lol

Mostly because green acolytes often don't even know their inquisitor, and because I have two missions in mind but it will depends on how the party is made up. Besides, the Inquisition takes people from literally all over the universe, so feel free to go crazy making a character and I'll make sure not to screw anyone because of the choices they make.

Also, remember the Inquisition usually recruits people with needed skills - sometimes out of the prison system or another department. I can work one-on-one with everyone as to how they got picked up.
