always hard to have to cut players, especially quality ones.

Hopefully I can live up to the responsibility.

Hope you enjoy your stay! We have a bunch of people that have their own newbie welcoming traditions so I won't get in their way. I just noticed this in real time and wanted to catch it.

Feel free to send me a PM with any questions.

Well this is not good at all...

"It appears something in this area has the ability to read our minds or at least peer into our memories. I know the man I saw to be dead, barring some unholy and extremely potent magical abilities. But yet he was one of the few Imperials I wholly and fully trusted. This appears to be a trap, or a bait of some kind. We should exercise extreme caution."

Adrian looked to Dapple and Char, a bit dissapointed as to not finding anything interested yet in their search. "So if we were to go through with this bird plan, of what type of bird would I be assuming the shape? I admit I don't know much about spiders and their predators. It's best to get this decided upon now in case our puppetmaster is drawing us to another confrontation."

If only he was more powerful. If only he could shield his mind or better yet deduce what exactly they were facing...

Subject: Angry birds? I love that game!

The poison had succumbed fully to Adiran's immune system, or at least enough for him to function properly once more. Arien's choice to lead the party forward made little difference to Adrian at this point, as his job was to prepare himself physically for the next time battle came as well as mentally for the next arcane attack they would surely face. This entire cursed place was magical, and only really two of them had any idea what sort of power that required to bring about.

Valentine had come to respect Sunset's powers, and made no attempts to block them or do anything other than submit to her visions. A proper warrior used all tools available, if only in a peripheral capacity.

The memories that came back were at the Academy. Boys were showing off to girls, girls were rolling their eyes at boys, and prestidigitations were around every corner. Jealousy ran rampant as girlfriends and boyfriends were traded back and forth, except one student took it to the extreme. His name escaped Adrian but the memory was perfectly intact. Typical Red trainee... more interested in the desired outcome than any possible consequences. Half the reason he began skipping class to train with the Grey's in the first place. The other half being a lazy usage of magic as a crutch, but his feelings on that issue were already well known.

Several minor curses, an accidental demon summoning, and some very angry instructors later the boy found himself placed in "remedial" training (never to be seen again, at least in that form. Surely the Reds found some use for a trainee wizard that could accidentally construct Abyssal gates) and all Red trainees had to attend an extra set of classes on warding and spell awareness.

He took the hint. This thing is powerful, but has no idea about or respect for the abilities it wields. Everyone seemed to get the same message.

"This thing uses spiders as guards, and the threads..they're rather spider-like. What's a spider afraid of other than birds? Can either of you bring up the illusion of a big, hungry bird? At the right time, it just may be the distraction we need to get past those threads. " Dapple had a plan... admittedly he didn't know much about animal behavior. It might work.

"I could turn myself into some kind of bird. I could probably fly as well assuming I don't run into any webs or hit another magical barrier. I am very cautious to use magic around it because of the raw power it wields. Personally I don't think it even understands what it's doing. Sunset's story to me reminded me of an Academy recruit that accidentally summoned a minor demon. Perhaps this thing could do the same - only on a much larger scale? Maybe that is how our two demon friends came into being. If the time line we originally constructed holds then we can still stop it from doing whatever it's doing."

Calm down man! You probably know most of these people from their Christmas carols they've done. Bobby Helms did Jingle Bell Rock, Lennon did Merry Xmas the war is over.

You can always plug their names into Google and get some inspiration.

Don't go losing your temper you might never find it.

Topic: An odd poem...
Subject: yea

I like the rhythm to it, it's very off-putting, especially at the end. I also see two ways of interpreting depending on how it's read. One has a very angry boyfriend feel but the other is more nostalgic.

I suppose it would depend on how it's read aloud. Isn't that how poetry is supposed to be done anyway?

Overall good stuff. I don't like poems that have traditional rhyme patters, they always sound kiddy. This one didn't though.

First off if you are using a d10 to "flip a coin" then it would be on a 11-20 and not 10+

Second, your links are broken. They just go to the site.

Subject: Class of 2010

It's a new year! A new decade! OMG the Inn is almost 10 years old! Bigger OMG I've been here for about 7 of them!

Just wanted to give a shout out to the Innmate class of 2010... those who have recently or are just about to celebrate their first anniversary at the Inn and have made a noticeable impact on making this place more awesome.

Shield Wolf, Ody, Pit F(r)iend, Steelight, and I feel I should grandfather in Tiamat since 2009 was such an anemic year in terms of Inn growth and activity and honestly I didn't pay much attention to the Inn that year due to real life issues.

If 2011 and each coming year brings us more members like the ones above, then the Inn has a very bright future in the new decade.

I tried for a long time not to leave anyone out, but I could only really come up with 5 names that have been absolutely stand-out and are just reaching the point where they stop being considered "the new guy." I've said for years now that to become a "regular" it takes two things: About 1000 posts over the course of a year, give or take; and the ability of a long time member to be able to recognize your name as an active and productive member. All of the above I think qualify and then some.

So this is just my way of saying thanks for being cool people! It's so hard with real life, and it hurts sometimes to think back about how active this place used to be. Chat used to be full almost 24-7, at least 16-5 or so. I still hold out hope we can get back to that point eventually.

So all you guys that recently joined or joined a while ago but only post every so often: Cmon! Start visiting the more social forums! If our games don't seem to be working, at least let's keep the community alive!

Welcome to the Inn!

I deleted your double post for you xD

You'll fit in fine, just be yourself (except in game) and be social

And do stop by the chat... it's been terribly dull lately. *pssst* "Honorary" just means we don't have to pay him. For some reason he just showed up and started doing it for free, so we just kinda let him go until he figures it out. Don't tell him!

While I have given out a few debatable Dark Side Points to Jedi players, I've never had a Paladin fall (that didn't want to at least...)

It really does sour the mood of the game.
