Subject: Where to go from here?

Skari-dono,

A couple of questions/comments:

1) What's the current year? I've read through the history section from KotoR, but am uncertain as to which time frame we're in.

2) Is it okay that I named Riel whatshisname as my Jedi master?

3) As I hinted at in my post, I'm kinda assuming that the Ambassador is taking the lead and Benjamin is following as he's really just a glorified bodyguard at the moment. If you would like me to take the lead and the Ambassador to move to the background, that's fine too, just not sure what kind of authority Benjamin has.

4) Also, as this is the Ambassador's ship, I'm assuming that he knows what the "escape plan" in case of boarding... i.e. the Khil has a escape ship somewhere with a dedicated pilot to ferry him away. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I figure if he's got a hanger big enough to hold the good doctor's ship, he's bound to have a ship of his own in there, yes?

5) Kate has looked to make contact with Benjamin (and the Ambassador, I assume). Again, I envision the Khil replying first, inviting the droid along (or not). Benjamin's concern is for the Ambassador and would not look to invite "extra" baggage along for the ride, especially because he's not sure of the Ambassador's plan.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm not really sure where to go from here and am waiting for further instruction from the Khil. If the Ambassador is not really suppose to take a lead role, let me know and I'll look to formulate a plan that includes the others.

Benjamin had been at Ambassador’s side during their entire journey to Malachor V. Master Rial Moti, his master, had charged Benjamin to watch over the Khil diplomat, to ensure the ambassador’s safety and, so far, he had succeeded in his mission.

So far… thought the Jedi. The last few hours had been quite tense with the surprise attack of the Mandalorian on Malachor V. Benjamin and the Ambassador had succeed in safely retreating to the Khil’s starship, and the Jedi knight had hoped the Mandalorians would leave them well enough alone.

It was not to be. The delay in trying to help the refugees fleeing Malachor V had given the Mandalorians time to realize the Ambassador’s true mission and their Crusaders now laid siege the Gal’Pani. While Benjamin could easily see and sense the fear of the people around him, the knight himself tried to remain calm, yet coiled, for action. His double-bladed lightsaber still hung on his belt, feeling that to bring it to hand would only cause more panic amongst the people. Benjamin merely moved closer to his charge.

“We must get this data to Jedi master Rial Moti. The Mandalorians must not retrieve it,” the Ambassador said.

Benjamin nodded slight, “Understood, Ambassador.”

Benjamin followed the Khil through the hallways of the starship, only a step behind, as the Ambassador led the way. Realizing that they were severely out-numbered, Benjamin figured the Khil was working on a plan to transmit the data or, perhaps, escape from the ship.

As they were making their way through the halls, the pair came upon what Benjamin could only assume were refugees from Malachor V – a droid, a Twi’lek, an Ithorian, and a Wookiee – though they appeared perhaps slightly more confident then their panicking counterparts. The Jedi suspected that they too were looking for a way of escape.

OOC: I know I didn’t include much details about Benjamin’s looks, but here’s his description – Benjamin stands just under six feet tall and has a slender built. His long blonde hair is pulled back in a ponytail which reaches just past his shoulder blades and whips around in combat as he twists and turns. He is slender and graceful. He personality matches his poised stance… he is not impatience to strike or speak, but when the moment requires it, he is ready for action.

He wears a typical light beige Jedi robe and pants with a black utility belt and brown cloak. A double bladed lightsaber hangs at his side.

I'll play the Jedi, if you like... on two conditions

1) Skari, you're willing to add a fourth player.
2) Addy, you'd prefer to play the noble/officer.

If either of these are no the case, then nevermind...

To be honest, I had been thinking of throwing my hat in as either an astromech or wookiee tech specialist. I figured the Jedi would be gobbled up fast as lightning.

As an aside, having perused the Saga Handbook, I really like the changes. The streamlined it well, plus balanced out the classes a bit better. Jedi isn't crazy crazy super anyway... just super

So, yeah. Just thought I'd put that in. Not trying to cause a stir or anything.

EDIT: Just because text-only communication doesn't relay emotions very well... I just want to be clear that there's no bad feelings if you say no, Skari. I know the recruitment is full and done and am completely cool with just lurking. 'kay? Cool!

Sorry folks... I'm not sure what to do.

Here's the situation:

My wife had her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday and is still on the mend.

3 of my 5 kids have the flu right now.

I have a character ready in my head, though not in WORD form yet... it will need some approval from you, Wyrmsting, as I'm hoping to use a number of alternate class features and some feats from various non-core books. I'm still playing with the classes a big, but it will be a Barbarian with a bit of Fighter and maybe Ranger mixed in.

SIDE QUESTION: What level do you expect our characters to reach? Is this just a one shot adventure? (and we'll likely stay at level 6) Or do you see this expanding into a full out campaign?

So, yeah... that's where I'm at. I'm not interested in holding you up, I am really interested in the game. But my family needs me for the time being.

If they go to bed at a decent time tonight, maybe? But I'm not holding my breath... (this is where you realize just how much work you spouse does at home!! )

Just me. Like I said to Wyrmsting, I was busy until today. I hope to have something up by Wednesday.

I'm currently looking at a frontline melee tank type character.

Looking forward to gaming with you all! Looks like fun.

Here's my expressed interest.

While you said no devises, would you make an exception if the backstory was "scientist stumbles upon alien technology (battlesuit)"?

Just curious... I have a couple of other ideas too so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Well, the weekend has come and gone, and I still haven't found the time to hammer out a character. True is I don't have a good character concept yet.

I have a busy 2 weeks of work ahead and I don't anticipate being able to create something within that time frame anymore...

So... I'm going to pass for the moment. Perhaps you can retcon me in later (they do that in the comics all the time, right?).

In the meantime, I'll be lurking along.

What's a "german duplicator"?

Reralae: You're kinda like a "mimic" archtype with some funky feline flavor?

And Grugg is kinda like the "paragon" archtype (that's my best deciphering of "german superman").

And Nim's got the "psionic" archtype covered (with the crazy shaman).

What about Dragon? I've read through the recruitment thread, but haven't discovered his deal yet.

Anyway... I have my eye on the costumed hero archtype, through I could be swayed to the battlesuit or energy controller types as well.

Regardless, Skari-dono, let me know the verdict.

I'm just previewing the RPG book. Looks cool! Got space for one more?

If so, can you give me a brief idea of what the other folks are playing?

I imagine I should be able to put something together by the end of the week. What do you say? Will you have me?

Thanks

Hey, thanks for the quick response, Vesper. I thought that might be the case. Glad I asked!

I won't spend time on a character that "might" get played. (Time's too precious for that) But if a spot opens up, you can look me up!

VESPER

How many players are you looking to have in your game? You've listed 6 players so far that have character sheets. Grugg has also said he's got one coming in. I'm interested, but should I bother creating a character, or is the game full?

Thanks!
