Topic: Feeding The Undead
Subject: The message and the stranger...

"D@%# it." Melina cursed quietly as she got Angie's voicemail. As she left her message for her sister, Melina noticed the goth chick approaching her Jeep. "Angie! It's Melina. I'm outside of VanKirk's. Where are you, girl? I'm not coming up to get you. Some guy's dog's loose... and... mean, too. I'll..."

"Beep..."

"D@%#!" Melina cursed again as she dailed Angie's number again. The goth chick was at her window now, given her the sign to rolled it down. Melina held up her index finger, telling her to wait a moment. Angie's voicemail kicked in again. "Angie, I'm gonna get us some coffees. I know you're gonna need it anyway. I'll be back in 20 minutes. You don't call me in 20, and I'm heading home, girl. Call me."

Melina flipped closed her phone and rolled down her window.

"Hey, listen, you know where I can find, like, a Wal-Mart or something?" the goth chick asked simply.

Melina, obviously a bit flustered, quickly answered, "Sure" and proceeded to give the stranger directions to Walmart. She finished with, "It's a bit of a hike."

Subject: Last post on page 3, man.

"After some discussion, he'll be playing a scum with some military flavour."

Seeing as I, personally, have no idea about anything regarding the WH40k universe, I suspect your secret is still pretty safe.

Grugg: I know, I know, man... no psyker. When I read Addy's post too, I thought about scrapping my Arbitrator too and going with the psyker. I don't know though... while cool, psykic powers are nifty, the chance of very bad things happening are high too. Almost as bad as playing a sorcerer at 1st level... maybe worse.

In fact, Addy posted that you were planning on playing a Scum instead of the Psyker.

No secret powers, I'm afraid. Unless, the ability to notice the obvious counts as special.

It's really only Jozan that needs to post (or edit his post)... everyone else has declared. Unless some folks are thinking of changing their mind.

We haven't really talked about what happens in Percy doesn't get the majority vote. Are we then going with Pio's plan? Huh? Huh?

Do you have a sample character sheet available? Some way to organize the character's information? Thanks

Nice... looks like we got ourselves a nicely rounded group.

Guardsman
Assassin
Psyker
Tech-Priest
Cleric
Arbitrator

Very nice

Assuming Miran doesn't change his mind and Bensiel decides for the Heart of Darkness as well, Pio will accept the majority vote.

He will not be bothering with changing his armor, as my understanding is that it would waste to much time to buy new armor, head back to the orphanage to drop off his orginal armor, and then back track to the Heart of Darkness. ... So we can just head in search of Virgin Stuart right away. (at least, as far as I'm concerned)

Besides...by the time our characters finish deciding on where to go, the shops will be closed anyway.

Subject: 6 day count down

I noted, Sui, that you said that Percy has a today-or-nothing view on this mission.

Pio does not share that view, nor do I think it is meta-gaming to have the long view in mind. Ormander said that in 6 days the courts will be coming to collect from the orphanage. While Pio would like it not to take that long, he does expect it to take a few days the clear his father's name. In his mind, he'd like to have the statue back to Velch by day 5. And if not the statue, then at least compelling evidence that it wasn't someone from the orphanage that took the statue.

As the man and the woman came out of VanKirk’s, Melina noticed the door to the building was still ajar. It crossed her mind that she’d be able to get in no problem and just head up stairs…

But that thought lasted only a second as the wave of fear overtook the suburbia housewife. The sight of blood covering the man, the sounds that had come from within VanKirk’s, the thought of rabid dog still on the loose… it was all too much for Melina.

She backed away from the apartment building, keeping her distance from the bleeding guy… Who knows, he may have aids or something… and made her way back to the safety of her jeep. The party girl’s suggestion to give Angie a call sounded a whole lot better.

Once in the jeep, Melina locked the doors and fumbled in her purse for her cell phone. She speed-dialed Angie cell. Pick up, Angie! You better not be passed out on the floor somewhere!

Topic: Filthy Thief Q/A
Subject: Actually...

Jozan, it may just be easier if you were to edit your post and say whether Bennie is for Percy's planning of action or not.

See, in character, there is nothing stopping us from going our separate ways. Out of character, Almerin has stated that we are not allowed to split the group.

So, none of our characters can actually say, "We can't do that, man!" because, IC, we're all thinking Bennie's idea is a super one.

So, if you could just edit your post to say whether or not Bennie thinks Percy's idea is a good one that would just make life simplier. Otherwise, Almerin's going to have to have a Jedi show up on the scene and wave her hand and say something like, "You don't want to split the party. You want to stay together." And things just might get silly after that...

I've seen two folks with their eyes on guardsmen. I'm leaning towards either Arbitrator or Assassin. (undecided)

They're not making the trip all the way back to the orphanage before going to the Heart of Darkness, so Pio is sticking with what he has. No changes.

Okay... so shopping is okay (and not a waste of time)... is heading back to the orphanage to drop off Pio's plate mail okay by Percy?

Topic: Filthy Thief Q/A
Subject: Not trying to be a stick in the mud

I think if the group decides to go to the Heart of Darkness right away, which is fine, Pio will no longer need to go shopping and will be going "as is".

My sense from Percy is that she is not interested in doing much else than to find Virgin Stuart. She would consider it to be a waste of time for Pio to pick up some different armor and then trek back to the orphanage to change. And Pio is unwilling to leave his current armor anywhere else.

So, if the group goes for Heart of Darkness, we can skip the shopping trip (at least, as far as Pio is concerned). Pio will look to pick up some leather armor the next day (or maybe not at all... it may not be needed tomorrow)

Seriously, though, can you give us a bit more information on who the acolytes' Inquisitor is, where about our first "mission" will take place (name of planet, planet type, etc), and what the nature or objective of our first mission will be?

Mucho Gracios!

Topic: You Filthy Little Thief!!!
Subject: Attempting to listen to his sister...

Pio maintained eye contact with Percy as she blasted him with her words. He tried hard to understand her points of contention through her passionate outburst, but could not.

When she finished, he allowed her to have the last word of the argument. If it made her feel as though she had “won”, so be it. He was not looking to win any longer. By her own admission, she cared not for things like “honor”, so how could she understand such things. She was right – there was no point in trying to defend his actions to her. It was like throwing pearls to swine.

Instead, he moved along, as his sister had suggested, and presented her case to the rest of the group, who until now had been silent. Giving a nod in Percy’s direction, he spoke to the group, “Percy feels as though we have wasted much of our time today wandering aimlessly around the city. She feels that trying to locate Dory will further waste more time. She has suggested an alternative plan: that we head to the Heart of Darkness to find Virgin Stuart, the contact given to us from the thug this morning. She believes that this is our best lead, and is worried that if we do not follow up on it immediately we may not have the opportunity to do so later. On that point, she may be right. Who can say what Virgin’s future holds.”

Looking to the group, he simply asked, “What say you? Shall we head over to the Heart of Darkness?”

I've got my eye on an Arbitrator... maybe an assassin.

I have to say that the Psyker "class" looks like suicide. The potential for so many bad things happening when you use your "powers"... blah!

The Cleric looks interesting. Why do you suggest that one needs to be familiar with the WH world to play this class?

For the record, I have ZERO knowledge on the WH setting, save what I've read in the Dark Heresy RPG books and wikipedia.

Curious about the "level" business. Are we starting with the regular 400 xp and random starting throne geld? Or are we a bit more experienced? This will help me in the character creation process.

Also... can we use material from the Inquistator (sp?) Handbook?

Thanks
