Here's two videos... one, Mike Pondsmith talking about Cyberpunk. (especially the first couple minutes)

And a trailer for Cyberpunk 2077...

Subject: Yikes!!!

So many good options!

I think my preference would be for:

1) Cyberpunk (really interested)... specifically, the netrunner or the medtech

OR

2) Modern Supernatural (pretty interested)... specifically, the investigative reporter

Not super interested in the Audalis scenario (no offense)... but totally cool if this is the crowd favourite

Peace,
Ayrn

Subject: Are you able to give a bit more?

First, if anyone is considering Brom's invitation, let me add that I have played in a Cyberpunk game from Brom and it was AWESOME! I highly recommend him to you as a GM.

Second, Brom, I know you were kinda asked if you'd run a game recently, but can you give a little more adventure summary/ opening intros to your three options? What are you thinking of when you say Cyberpunk, Audalis, or modern fantasy?

Thanks!

Subject: Come and Hitomi!

Whirling her spear over her head with a flourish, Hitomi took note of her companions and her foes. Centering herself, she stepped forward and gave a powerful "Kiai!" and set her spear to receive the onslaught of wolves.

OOC: Hitomi is moving to P-10 to stand beside Kia, spear at ready (I know she can't actually set for a charge). If she gets to attack this round, she's looking for a finesse attack and a dodge defense.

Subject: May the odds be forever in our favour

Here are my choices for attack and defense odds:

Three kinds of attack: (STR)
Basic (better chance to hit, less damage) 1-4
Finesse (middle chance to hit with middle damage) 5-10
Hard (Least chance to hit but big damage) 11-12

Two kinds of defence: (AGL)
Dodge (best chance, least effect) 1-8
Parry/Block (low chance and greater effect) 9-12

Are you waiting on something specific? Like a post from each of the senior officers that we are showing up at the meeting?

If I wanted to create an unarmed martial arts... would that be "light weapon/light armour"?

Do you get to mess around with your ability scores, beyond just due to your race?

My understanding from your rules is that is would go something like this:

Starting Stats: STR 0, STA 0, AGI 0, PRE 0

Now, add Human template: STR 0, STA -1, AGI 0, PRE +1

Now, mess with it until you have a max of +3 positive... so some examples would be:

STR +1, STA 0, AGI +1, PRE +1
STR +2, STA -1, AGI 0, PRE +2
STR 0, STA 0, AGI +1, PRE +2
STR +2, STA +2, AGI -1, PRE 0

Yes?

Subject: Tara Palmer

I did envision Tara doing all the things that Doug listed above as well as a bit of ship counselling (putting her Empathy to good use).

Leah Finnley and Natasha Pierce in the Observation Lounge would also be "unofficial counselors".

Lieutenant Chell has brought these fine people on board, even though they are not medical staff, because he sees the whole of the crew as a living "system" that needs specialists just as much as the warp core. "A happy crew is a unified crew, and a unified crew is a productive crew."

Moriden is an NPC, so, Eol, feel free to keep the game going if you like by posting more info through OPS... just remember to --wheeze-- every now and then and you do fine.

OPs has given some initial info on sensor readings

"Helm, slow to one quarter impulse until we have a better idea what we are looking at. Lieutenant Moriden, tell me everything you can about it. Let's put it onscreen, full magnification, please."

Moriden's fingers danced across the Ops console, bringing Peregrine's sensory array to bear on the unknown pod. "Captain, visual coming on the screen now."

"So, what do we have here?" Drake mused, once the orders were distributed, "Is this from a Federation vessel, or someone else?"

"We're trying to determine that, now, Captain," Tochi answered. Even as the XO spoke, the Benzite officer was running the scans Tochi indicated, trying to stay one step ahead of her superior. Tochi continued, "Establishing a tachyon detection grid and initializing a metaphasic sweep in order to see if we can't get some sort of bearing on the pod's host ship... we can't be certain, sir, but that doesn't appear to be a Starfleet pod. If we're not mistaken, it looks to be Hekaran."

"Lieutenant Tochi is correct, Captain," Moriden piped up. "The escape pod's transponder is registering it as belonging to the Mirela, a Hekaran science vessel. However, I am unable to locate the Mirela on our long range scanners. Both the detection grid and metaphasic sweep aren't showing anything of note."

--wheeze--

"I am attempting a magnetic tetryon configuration on the sensors to help cut through the tachyon disruption field," Moriden continued, pausing to recheck the readings from her console. "Hmmm,"

--wheeze—

[OOC: assuming some kind of query,]

"I'm getting through the sub-space disruption, but the scans are coming back with wildly diverse readings of the presence of life forms on the pod, ranging anywhere between zero to several million."

--wheeze--

Subject: How much freedom?

Hey, I'm just checking to see how much freedom I have in posting from the Ops?

Is this one of those times where I should just be posting something simple like: "Moriden's fingers quickly danced across her console, bringing the image of the escape pod onto the viewscreen, while initializing a full-spectrum scan of the ship."

Or do I have the freedom to write more about information about the scan (beyond confirmation of the XOs findings)? i.e. adding details about id of the pod and it's mother ship, modifying the sensors in such a way as to cut through the interference and positively identify the life forms on the ship, etc?

Let me know.

Subject: Lt Candar Moriden

Stardate: 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine, Bridge - 0715

--wheeze--

Lieutenant Moriden stood at her console, going over her list of tasks for her shift. A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. She was anticipating the arrival of her superior at any moment, and the Benzite exchange officer wanted to be ready with her full report of objectives accomplished. The excitement of the report caused her too wheeze a little as she breathed through her respirator, sounding a little like light snoring.

Lieutenant Reid's personal replicator fixed... check!

--wheeze--

Read through the full system specialists' report, highlighting for Mister Chell's ease... check!

--wheeze--

Full systems scan done at o'one hundred, o'four hundred and o'seven hundred hours... check, check, and...

Candar frowned slightly as her checking was interrupted by a soft "ba-loop" and her console shifted from her checklist to an incoming message from Starfleet. The protocol instructions clearly indicated that the message was classified and meant for the Captain.

"Bridge to Captain," she started. "Starfleet Command is on a secure channel for you. "

--wheeze--

=/= Please patch it through to me here. =/= the Captain replied.

"Yes, Captain!" the Benzite forwarded the message to Captain Silas.

--wheeze--

Now... Candar thought to herself, as she pulled her checklist up again. Where was I? Ah yes... passed secured communique from Starfleet Command to Captain Silas... che..!

--wheeze--

First Officer Tochi interrupted her checking. "I hope that's a new assignment," Tochi said, "Otherwise, someone might get smothered today."

--gulp--

Leah Finnley in Operations has also been updated
Tam Suder in Operations has also been updated

These three crewmembers are servers behind the bar in the Observation Lounge. I've listed in their bios their typical shift schedules so you know who you are likely to encounter in the Lounge.

Yohn watched the Varg, his "superviser" for now, exit out of the room after the briefest of mission briefings ever... which suited the mechanic well enough. There's been plenty enough talk already.

"Bees, huh," Yohn said to noone in particular. He let out a sigh before squeezing himself out of the chair again. "Gil's gil, 'suppose, right? Might as well go make some," he spoke his thoughts as he walked out the door after the Varg, snagging a couple snacks on his way out.

Swinging by the trunk that had been assigned to him to store his gear when he had arrived, Yohn picked up his pack, adjusted the straps and move to meet the Varg at the gate.

Nomad,

Complete Divine, Complete Champion, and (to some extent) Complete Warrior would be the published resource... though the benefit of the Cleric is that it's pretty awesome straight out of the box.

This link to the 3.5 DnD CO Cleric Handbook is useful for ideas on how you might want to build your cleric --> http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=420.0

Topic: CWWLLO QnA
Subject: Suggestions

I'd suggest one of the following:

1) Just ignore the idle PCs. RL is no fun sometimes, but who can say if a player might come back. Just leave the PCs in the group, but pretend they are not there. If a player returns, just go back to pretending they've been there the whole time.

2) NPCs the PCs only slightly. Have either the DM or an active PC just post the game mechanics piece of the inactive PCs (i.e. what weapons, spells, etc they use)

Peace,
Ayrn
