Topic: The Great War
Subject: Guess I'll pair up with Savrit here...

Hirokuun watched the recruits as they practiced through the day. He chuckled to himself. His position from the roof of the barracks hiding behind one of the spires granted him the perfect place to observe without being observed.

One of the people caught his attention; the one who seemed to be their commander. She moved with skill. The low life's seemed to fear her. But not in a terrified way... in a somewhat respectful way. They feared disappointing her. That was a good thing to instill into the troops. If they feared the commander, they wouldn't fear death.

Of course, this didn't matter to him. He was only interested in the commander. She disappeared into the building. He hadn't had a chance to follow her, and now he only hoped that somehow she would re emerge. He had to move though. Too long in one place wasn't good.

As he skirted along the roof, he loosened the straps that bound his Naginata to his back. He would not be caught unable to draw his weapon.

His vision caught something though, and he stopped. There she was. This would be fun. Hirokuun began to slowly climb down, keeping his eyes on the commander.

D'Artigo's eyes closed. He didn't want Miv to know about this. He was never able to stay in one place for a long enough time. He was a free spirit. But he couldn't do this to her.

"Miv, I don't intend to stay, you're correct. However, I don't intend to stay away either. Just because I leave one night doesn't mean that I won't be back the next. I won't break your heart."

Velox plucked away on the harp. The tavern was jumping, and he was having a merry time.

He had many times played for a bar like this, however there had typically been many people who had no taste for his music. This time however, was great. And then, it happened.

Out from the crowd, and unruly fellow asked for a slow song. Then he gave some great profound speech as to how it was for fallen comrades to the sea... Who did he think he is?

Velox was just about to say something when everyone cheered. Oh great. He would have to go through with this. Well... okay.

"Haha, good sir. I, the great and famous Velox, will acquiesce your request. A slow ballad, a song of sailor and sea, it shall be!"

With that, Velox begins plucking the strings in a slow, moaning melody. He then begins to sing.

"Small craft in a harbour that's still and serene.
Give no indication what there ways have been.
They rock at their moorings, all nestled in dreams.
Away from the roll of the sea.

Their stern lines are groaning a lullaby air.
A ghost in the cuddy, a gull on the spar.
But never they whisper of journeys afar.
Away from the roll of the sea.

Oh had they the tongues for to speak,
What tales of adventures they'd weave.
But now they are anchored to sleep,
And slumber... a lee."

Velox continued his song. The crowd was loving it... but that unruly fellow was still there. Well, now he knew the great Velox was great at the request of everyone who he performed for.

Mora's Home

"Mora... we understand. You've always been strong and dedicated to a cause. Just like you can't convince us to leave, we can't convince you to stay. But we know that you'll be fine. Just make sure you come back to us alive." Tears were forming in her father's eyes as he spoke. He was fighting not to cry.

Mora's mother on the other hand, had no such luck. Tears rolled down her face. She rose and embraced Mora, a worried expression on her face. She couldn't speak, but she held Mora close. After she finished crying though, she releases her and looks Mora in the eyes. Giving a short nod, she turns away, and goes back to her seat.

Inside the house, Mora finds all of her weapons, some spare clothes, and some spare food.

Selunine stares intently at Badon, then opens herself to her magical powers. With the powers of magic flowing through her, and the magnitude of the spell, Selunine gets lifted off the ground briefly. Her eyes close, and when they reopen the pupils and irises are missing, the eyes a single colour of white. Images and thoughts bombard her mind as her mind glimpses the past where there has been a similar effect.

When she has finished the spell, Selunine's body softly makes contact with the earth again, her knowledge now a part of her.

Achilles is ignored by everyone around him, each already preoccupied by their own happenings. So, instead, he continues to dig, and eventually gets the box out, and lays it down. Upon setting the box down, the lock falls off, and nothing happens, so Achilles assumes that it is trap free.

Upon opening the box, Achilles finds a pendant, with a brilliant gold gemstone on it. Inside the stone, you can see the image of a dragon's head, its eyes like stars.

Also with the pendant, there is a book, very thick, and very old. It's pages seem very delicate, and it is leather bound, with thick covers. There are strange markings on the cover which you are unable to read, however they could possibly be the title to the book.

Xavier approached the inn. Finally. He had almost given up, but there it was. His night was painful, but he was satisfied now. He felt something on his face and he brushed his hand across to wipe it off. Upon looking at his hand, he saw red. Obviously he had some blood residue on his face. Not a good thing. He licked his hand and scrubbed his face. It came off a bit, but he had no way of knowing whether or not it was still there. He hoped it was gone.

Xavier opened the door to the Nightshade Inn. He could smell breakfast being made. It was quite a tasty smell... especially now since his mind wasn't clouded with just blood. Mmm... he was definitely going to get some of that when he had the chance to sit down.

Looking around the inn, he moved toward an empty table, but sharply turned around upon seeing his three companions. Nimbly dodging a serving woman, he moves over toward the table with Satya, Ardulace, and Selummiel. Smiling cheerfully, he grabs a chair and sits down with them.

"Good morning all of you. I trust you all spent a wonderful night? By the way, what is the breakfast that smells so delightful? I think that I might want some... Have you three already eaten?" Xavier's manner is totally energetic now, a sharp contrast to how he had been when he left them the night before.

"Well, if I can't beat you one way, I'll beat you another. I'm not entirely uneducated my friend."

D'Artigo stands, offering Miv a hand to get up.
