D'Artigo had not slept very long. Maybe half an hour at most. Hearing Erina stir, he speaks. "Good morning Angel. Sleep well?"

Topic: The Fall of Our Great Kingdom: Vampiric Tale
Subject: Well, I'm going with the original, MMV. She didn't change.

"The Angel is out like a light. Would it be so mean? Well, anyways, I might as well... she seems like she's asleep enough."

Pulling off his mask, D'Artigo walks over to the wash basin. Splashing some water on his face, to maintain his appearance, he gazes into the mirror. The scars were still there, they would never heal now. Jagged zig-zags, straight slashes, symbols and letters... they were all there to stay. All along his arms and legs, he had similar scars. Along his back, lashes. His body was imperfect, thanks to those who raised him. The torture had lasted days, when they finally made him drink, and rise as a vampire. That woman... her eyes glowed red in his mind still. Constantly. She was his first, though unwillingly. She had done almost the same as he did now, though instead of killing him outright after pleasure, she had brought him to her home. He thought she sought a meaningful relationship... but no. He was grabbed, gagged, bound, and brought to a torture chamber. There... well, D'Artigo tried not to think about it that much.

His hair slid in front his face. Producing a small brush from within his cloak, and pulling his entire head of hair out from inside his cloak, he begins to brush. From the top of his head, to his waist. Back again. And again. A simple task, to be sure, but it was calming enough. He had never cut his hair. He had no need to now, it didn't grow. Only to keep it in its beautiful condition. Returning his brush, he left his hair out. It had been a long time since it had flowed free.

Returning his gaze to the mirror, he observes himself, with his scrapes, and scars. His eyes change colour in the mirror, the bright gold and silver flecks showing, instead of the pale blue. His brow furrowed, as he concentrated hard. In the mirror, he could see his scars beginning to disappear. Fading out, until there was not a blemish on his face. It was wonderful, a slightly darker grey than usual, with his ivory coloured hair surrounding it. His eyes popped out of his face like a torch in the dark. No wonder those drunken sluts and female criminals wanted him so much when he caught them. He was rather attractive when he threw his magic into the mix.

His eyes faded back into their normal colour, his face paling. His scars, re-appearing. They always did. He sighed, looking at his mask, cradling it in his hands. The white porcelain almost matched his skin hue. The eye slits fit perfectly, as he had crafted them too. Totally obscuring the face. He let out a long sigh. How he wished he didn't have to hide his face. But the world would not permit someone like this to walk. And she might come for him, if she knew his face. Donning his mask, he pick up the end of his hair, and begins to braid it... then stops. He would do it later. Now however, he needed rest.

Making sure his mask was fastened, he crawled into the bed, next to Erina. She was so strange. Enjoying the company of angels... breaking her own wing, and refusing aid, hot and cold... he couldn't understand her. But she understood less of him. Allowing his hair to flow freely in the bed, some of it landing on Erina, he gazed at the ceiling. What would his life be like if he wasn't a vampire? Or if he didn't have the scars? Would he have even found himself with this group? Or would he be somewhere else? He would never know. Now however, he had to deal with the situation. Only then would he ever find peace. Both inner and outer.

The Misty Isle | Year 593 NDE

"Selunine, darling, you are misguided. The outside world is changing, for sure, but not ours, therefore we do not intervene."

"Melios was a figure of great power, so it is only natural that power is respected an honoured. It has been logged, and it will be logged when the citizens of the otherworld destroy them. Now though, I ask you to return to your studies."

As she speaks, you can feel your mind be attacked. However, your magical protection against such attacks helps you keep your focus. With a quick tracing of the magical pattern, you discover that Arianna was attempting to cast suggestion on you.

Seeing her spell fail, the violet eyes narrow. "You seek to disobey me, my child? Everything you know you have learned here. Would you show it disrespect by throwing it away, going to a world of corruption and hate?" Stepping aside from the door, she folds her arms in front of her chest.

"Well my child? What is it? Your home, or the world of corruption?"

(OOC:Important rolls - Will Save: 27, Spellcraft - 32)

Badon | Year 593 NDE

The man hesitates a bit. "Well, ya' see miss, Oi didn't see the dragon moiself... so Oi dunno about it being black or not. Oi don't know much about 'em... only that they be ferocious, evil beasts that prey on innocent women and children. But the heroes o' loight killed 'em all years ago. Now they back though. Oi swear!"

"But Oi did hear some clinkin' as Oi ran outta there. Maybe he got a hoard in there or something? Oi dunno, Oi just thought a fine mistress like yerself would enjoy it."

At Morasenarion's question, he says: "Look, didn't you get that last time Oi explained it to ya? Oi saw it when I was trying to find a place ta sleep tonight. It blew at me, then Oi ran 'ere. And how in the bleedin' Abyss should I know how far it went, if it did? I wasn't eager to stick around, get melted and eaten by this dragon."

"Oh, and with all this lovely food, Oi'm rememberin' more and more. As I was just leavin' the cave, Oi could hear cursing, or something. A really angry voice. Sounded like normal though... almost human Oi thinks."

As you listen to his tale, you gauge the verity of his statements. His comment about the food making him remember is a bloody lie, it's obvious he's just trying to get a bit more of a bite to eat.

Everything else however... oddly enough, all the signs of his body, tone of his voice... they agree with his story. This man is telling the truth.

(OOC: Important Rolls- Sense Motive: 17)

Near Badon | Year 36 DE

The man smiles broadly, showing a few missing teeth. "Great sir! If you just come follow me, I'll take you to my home! It's rare we see company this far out here... usually everyone stays to the road on the way to Badon. They usually bustle by, busy about something. Well, come on then." The man turns and starts walking away.

Calling to Gnurk-Ogh behind him, he says, "Sorry friend, I forgot to get your name? What might it be? I'm named John myself. Where you from?"

As he speaks to you, he wanders down a curved path away from the city. After about 20 minutes, the rain starts to slowly come down, accompanied by a large rumble. "Oh jeepers. It's coming in now, isn't it. Well, that's my house, let's hurry." He points to a small shack on a hill. He runs up, and holds the door open for you, ushering you in.

"So, just what were you doing over there today? Can I get you something to drink? How about to eat?"

The Holy City of Alimar | Year 593 NDE

"Here we are Trillion. The hall of heroes. In all it's glory. They say the gods marvel in glory at this building. I will prove as your history guide through here."

As Father Lekain walks into the building through it's large oaken double door, he smiles warmly at the guards. "Good afternoon. Don't worry about the new one - she's with me. Put it on my tab." Beckoning to you, he smiles "Come, let's go. There are many things to see."

As you walk into the main hall, you see many different hallways. In Celestial, with common written underneath it, are signs pointing in each direction of the hallways, explaining which hallway is which. There are the following exhibits:

Dragon Fall
Heroes
Villains
History
Melios?
Weapons and Tomes
Gift Shop.

The Nagata Deserts - Outskirts | Year 593 NDE

"Haha, good boy Achilles - I thought you would be interested in power. Now, as you know, dragons once roamed this world. They had unimaginable power over humans. However, the heroes of light vanquished them. This is common knowledge."

"However, I have reason to believe that dragons still walk this land, in this desert. There was a village I'd been to once. Humans and dragons lived hand in hand, even though the war was going on. I don't believe that they left that village. If you were to bring dragons back into the world, have them under your control, then you would have unimaginable power, would you not?"

"If you don't want this power, I will follow you where you would send me. But They are out there. Someone will find them, and it might as well be the two of us, right?"

The man smile with a gleam in his eye after explaining about the dragons. "As for Taori... remember how the heroes of light banished the dragons? They knew more than anyone about the dragons. I was once Taori's student, seeking knowledge about dragons... 800 years ago. Taori himself fought in that war. A hero of light. Your master. And he never told you? I'm surprised..." Linus smiles at you, stopped at the edge of the desert. Waiting for you to lead him one way or the other.

"Thank you for understanding. I will be off." Fyet taks lazy steps into the forest, disappearing from view. A few seconds after his disappearance, a bright orange bird flies out from the forest, a shrill call coming from it, one filled with sadness.

Let's see... four beds, six people... D'Artigo calculated in his head. That meant people were sharing beds. That boded well. But, there was one complication. "As I said before, I follow the Pale Rose."

Eyes turn crimson, and scraping comes from his mask. Letting go of the tree D'Artigo slips down to the ground, soundless. Remaining crouched on the ground, D'Artigo says. "Bloodsucker isn't exactly my title. I prefer to be called Sexy."

"You're right, it doesn't matter what you think really. You're still beautiful. In case you didn't catch that, it means apology is accepted." D'Artigo turns his head towards Erina, winking at her, then returns to making sure Miv doesn't get into trouble. Witch's were difficult. Witchling healed a mortal wound, so she should be even more difficult.

Subject: Actually... as a continuation from a previous question.

The need for this seemed to arise, as we have two half dragons in the game, and there has been a dragon sighting... unless the man's crazy and he saw an overly large skunk who squirted him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As posed by DM
"Dragons are straight out of D&D? Metallic good, Chromatic evil?"
While this is true, humanoid society was destroyed by dragons in past years, so humanoids usually have a very judge-mental view of dragons seeing them all as "evil."
Those with half dragon blood are both usually respected, but feared. Respected, because their ancestors managed to "Force a Dragon" to mate with them, and feared because they wonder if the blood will overpower them, and cause them to follow the dragons, and kill humanoids, following the evil nature of the beast.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just clearing that up. While alignment is same, in humanoid's eyes they are evil incarnate.

"Hey! That was uncalled for!" D'Artigo said, furious. "I never take advantage of women! That would reduce me to being one of the low lifes I take down. I fight for honour, for law, and for safety of innocents. But it's a lonely life, and I'm a nice guy, so I make those criminals last few moments alive good ones. But never - ever - do I take advantage of those people!"

Turning out of the cabin, he says "You insult my dignity by saying such a thing. And after carrying you all the way out here." D'Artigo bursts out of the cabin.

"She's fine. Witchling did her thing."

"Stay in my line of sight. Pretty women have an odd habit of taking things out on me. Making sure he could see the witch, he advances towards Erina, reaching down to take her pulse. He couldn't see her through the mask, and his eyes were locked on the witch, so his fingers first made contact above her ribcage, in the soft fleshy spot. Slowy sliding his fingers up her neck, he kept his eyes on the witch. There it was. A pulse. Faint, but present.
